If you want to deal with an unhelpful, arrogant, marble and tile location, where they treat customers as if they are non-existent, then this is the place for you! I walked into the store today to find tile for my company’s retail stores in the United States. This is a very well known retailer with locations in every state. I entered the store and there was an individual sitting down on their computer. Not once did he say hello or how can I help you. He never even got out of his chair! I walked around for 5 minutes and decided this is not the place for mine, or my company’s business. I would be embarrassed for my company to receive my recommendation for this place. Not happy with the mistreatment, I walked out without seeing the other half of this small store. I figured the sales associate probably needed more training on how to get new business from a customer so I decided to call, immediately after I left, and notify the Manager of my bad experience. To my surprise, Raj, the Owner, answered the phone. I explained to him my intentions to potentially give him a lot of business and how I was mistreated during my visit to his store. He became argumentative and stated, «You were only in the store for 5 minutes and you stayed in the front the whole time.» I expressed to him that if I were only in the store for 1 minute, someone should have said hello and asked me if I needed help with anything. Raj discounted everything I said, over-talked me, and never apologized for his poor customer service. The conversation was useless at that point. I decided to just write and inform others what to expect when they go to this store. There are too many tile companies in the area to waste your time with someone who is rude and unappreciative of potential new business. Mind you, I just had a wonderful customer service experience, next door, at «Newark Paint II». I was immediately greeted and offered help as I entered. As paint and tile go hand in hand, feel free to give the Newark Paint II your business and drive past«La Raj Tile and Marble.»
