Went here as a spur of the moment dinner with some friends who have been coming here for a while. Great little spot on the water, with a great atmosphere. Great music playing and the locals seem to really enjoy the place, all smiles. The food was delicious, exactly how we ordered it and very fresh. Only downside is the actual location is hidden in an industrial area but as long as you follow the signs you’ll get there. Small parking lot which I can imagine fills up quickly in the summer. Also has outdoor seating available and a dock where I believe you can pull up your boat. Will definitely be back here again!

I have been coming here for over 10 years and each year the food is better. They don’t change the menu often but that is a good thing as their«signature» dishes should NOTEVER disappear! The food is absolutely delicious! Pick anything on the menu — you will NOT be disappointed. Sarah is my waitress there and she is a GEM — a DIAMOND amongst pearls. She has a wonderful friendly attitude and has always treated my family, my friends and I with utmost care. She is what a waitress should be — caring, personable, attentive and professional. Please look for her when you go there and tell her I sent you. You will be treated like never before. The owner is a fantastic person too as well as John(bartender) when he is in a good mood you will be quite surprised at the drinks he makes — OFFTHEWALL! They do not use watered down liquor and if you are not happy with anything — please out of respect let them know in a nice way — they are there to serve you and want to make you a returning customer. They will gladly exchange it and bring you something else. I am ever grateful for the day I made a wrong turn and found The Bay House by accident. This place is so out of the way but once found — you will return over & over. One other thing the place is a must if you love being near water — nice views of Jamaica Bay. Kudos to the staff and a big THANKYOU to Sarah :-)

Nice place. Food was decent. I had the special of the day. Bake potato soup and half Cuban hero. My husband had shepherds pie and my daughter had fried clams and french fries. The fried clams and french fries were definitely the best out of all the dishes. It really is an appetizer but it was delicious. The shepherds pies look great just a little too much gravy. They potato soup was really good. The Cuban hero… Well I’m from Florida so there’s no comparing a real Cuban sandwich to a Cuban hero. But it was decent

Excellent food, we always go my wife and I but unfortunately we decided to try the shrimp shaker and boy was it a big mistake. Taste was bad, it was over cooked and the presentation was just aweful. Stick to the scampi, calamari, fried zucchini sticks, and the Bayhouse burger!

I have been here several times. Each time has been a good experience. The last time was super. I had friends in from out of town, and they wanted to go to City Island. I suggested Bay House. BOYWERETHEYHAPPY. The service was excellent, the ambiance was great, the drinks were on point, and the food was GREAT! I plan another trip there in the next few days. P. S. The music was a wonderful mix, and I knew the words to almost every song.

Magical place I’ve been coming here for twenty years food is always fresh and plentiful On a nice day the outdoor waterfront dining is like an oasis hidden by a winding road in an industrial surround But once ur in it’s like a vacation resort Hamburgers broiled salmon shrimp shakers prime rib French onions soup the best anywhere I’ve been including some pricey restaurants Service may be slow depending who waits on u but come to relax and take it easy and you’ll have a great time Ps my dog Schnoodles a toy poodle loves it there she recommends the broiled cheese from the onion soup

First and foremost, I am so happy that a restaurant like this is in my neighborhood, ROSEDALE! It was legit 8 minutes away from me. I’m shocked that I never knew about this place! It sucks because I spent the whole summer not knowing it existed! Oh well! I can see myself frequenting here during the fall as well, no biggie. Next summer this will be my hang out. For starters, it’s pretty tricky to find. We would have never expected it to be where it was. My suggestion to you? Follow the sign that says«Bayhouse»…that is all. It was a beautiful day! We sat outside by the water. I forgot our waitresses’ name — she was a little rough around the edges but she was nice nonetheless. The vibe was very relaxing.(Perfect for an impromptu date night). I ordered buffalo chicken tenders with fries and a Long Island iced tea. The chicken tenders were crispy, yet tender.(no pun) and the fries were crisp to perfection. Pretty big too. My mom ordered their coconuts shrimp spring rolls. She’s a picky eater, but she LOVED it. Said it filled her up to. Mind you, these things are appetizers lol. The highlight of my visit though?! Their Long Island Iced tea. Boyyyyyy. It had me right where I wanted to be! Any place with a heavy handed bartender is A+ in my book ;) plus they close late! 12am. Can’t wait to come back and actually try an entre! I absolutely enjoyed visiting here!

Cool spot to go to with friends to enjoy the weather and drinks. Food is pretty good. The best items I’ve tried so far were the lobster and steak melt. The meat was so soft, it almost melted in my mouth. Not a fan of the coconut shrimp spring rolls. They had some sort of creamy filling. The daiquiris are really good and strong but need to be a bit more frozen. I will definitely return!

I decided to check out The Bayhouse with family on a Monday, due to craving seafood. This restaurant is located in some mysterious area in which you wouldn’t even think that a restaurant would exist! We drove past a Holiday Inn, made various turns, and I couldn’t help but think that the back roads in which it took for us to get to The Bayhouse just seemed so sketchy. We pulled into a parking lot and immediately walked into an open space with run down looking plastic chairs and a blue bucket with a number identifying each table. Initially, I didn’t see any servers outside to greet us, however, we decided to just grab a table. I am honestly unsure as to why my fellow Unilocalers were impressed by the scenery at The Bayhouse. During the day all I saw was brown water, houses in the distance, and strangely a yellow cautionary sign that said«Crocs Beware.» I don’t know if that crocodile sign was a joke or not, but I have never known of crocodiles being in Rosedale lol. I am assuming that during the night, the ambiance might be slightly different as there are probably lights in the distance, but then again, I still wouldn’t be impressed. About ten minutes later, our server approached us with a menu. I asked her about their Happy Hour, however, she informed me that Happy Hour was ONLY at the bar and not applicable for dining in. That was a turn off, however, I opted for a non-alcoholic Pina Colada, due to the server stating that it tastes«very good.» The Pina Colada arrived to my table looking messy with some of the Pina Colada dripping down the side of the plastic cup. I took one sip, and immediately realized that The Bayhouse won the award for the nastiest Pina Colada I am ever tasted in my life. It was extremely sweet and had a weird after taste!!! Who knew that it was possible to ruin a Pina Colada?! My father also ordered a Pina Colada, and he wasn’t impressed with the taste either. As I looked over the menu, I was disappointed that they didn’t have oysters. I figured that I would try the shrimp spring rolls, which actually came out looking like egg rolls. Now I am a shrimp lover, however did not enjoy the taste of the spring rolls at all! I seriously contemplated whether I should order an entrée, however, I was extremely hungry and opted for the broiled flounder which rice and vegetables. I can honestly say that the flounder tasted decent, however, I came to the conclusion that nothing stands out about this restaurant at all! I picked around my food and left The Bayhouse still hungry. There are plenty of other restaurants in NYC that are overlooking water in which you can enjoy higher quality food and tasty beverages. I would not return to The Bayhouse, as my experience wasn’t that great. If I am going to drive through back roads the food better be good, and sadly The Bayhouse was a waste of time.

Stopped into the Bay house bc I had heard so much from Mariah B. about this cool bar with a beautiful view right in Rosedale, Queens. Believe me I was as surprised as you probably are right now reading this. After some light eats at another Rosedale restaurant we took the«snake road» that connects Rosedale to what we call Five Towns(atleast I call it that) to this secret location. I say secret because it’s in the cut! At first, I followed my GPS and ended up turning left then right then left onto the tiniest streets ever. Pulled up into the parking lot and the first thing I noticed walking to the entrance was the beautiful outdoor area. After getting a closer look at it later on in the evening, I noticed it’s set up like a half circle. Maybe seating for about 25 – 30 people with basic Home Depot outdoor furniture. The view of Jamaica bay is actually beautiful! No fancy NYC skyline or any of that but when there are boats in the bay it makes for nice pictures. We opted to sit at the bar bc the plan in our heads was to just stop in for a few drinks(we checked out the outside area when we left). The menu is basic, that of your standard bar; fries, burgers, sandwiches, wings etc. Only thing that stood out to me were the shrimp shakers(highly recommended from other Unilocalers). They had three different flavor options, I chose the California. Nine jumbo shrimp warmed and placed in a shaker with coconut flakes and pineapple chunks. Our bartender, Pam who btw was mad cool, shook it in front of me and poured them into a bowl, oooooooo fancy presentation lol. The texture and flavor of the coconut flakes was nice but the pineapple was too subtle for me. Overall it was only ok; the shrimp were really huge though. My friend said he enjoyed his dozen clams and his Tangeray, grapefruit juice, cranberry cocktail; It was mixed well. I had two Heinekens and a shot of Bacardi and that put me right where I needed to be. Great vibe, I would definitely return for drinks and to enjoy the outdoor area

So far, so good! My first visit to the Bayhouse wasn’t bad. I was here with friends and we had some pretty good food. All I can comment on was the amazing brownie a la mode… Oh MYGOODNESS! It was a total foodgasm in my mouth! Five stars for that automatically! I decided to give this place four stars because I liked the potato skins but it could use some more love. I plan on coming back here to try their burger. An update is will soon come!

Came in yesterday and it was perfect! The weather, the service, and the food this time was amazing! The view is just a fortunate add-on because there is NO spot like this around here. We sat ourselves outside on the deck and were instantly greeted with menus. It looks like they got a new look… Not too sure because it’s been over a year and I didn’t take pics last time but it was very calm, clean, and relaxing still. We stayed outside because the wind was under control yesterday. We ordered 2 Mimosas each which was just on the money(taste & price) and I ordered the fried flounder sandwich. The flounder was so big! I had to eat the part that hungover the bread first, then I got to my sandwich! Bestie ordered some big ol’ steamed shrimp for an appetizer and a steak melt. Not a shrimp fan but the steak melt was excellent. Our meals were great as well as our service. I knew they deserved second chance. I’ll be back.

Came here with my friend and we were seated right away but seated ourselves. Located by the bay, the atmosphere is the best and only good part about this place. It’s very nice to sit by the water while you enjoy a drink and food. Unfortunately the food and drinks aren’t that great. Our server must have been having a bad day, because she was very uninterested. We started with drinks. My friend tried to order a strawberry margarita on the rocks, but they said since it’s made with a syrup they only make it frozen. Hint that the drink probably wouldn’t be good. After hearing that I just went with a regular margarita on the rocks. My friend asked if we could get the chicken teriyaki dumplings. The coconut shrimp spring rolls sounded better, but I didn’t notice them until after we ordered. We both knew what we were going to eat for our entrees. We asked the waitress if we could order everything at once, but she said she was going to put in the drinks first. Whatever. When she came back we ordered the appetizer and I got a chicken quesadilla and my friend got the Key West shrimp shaker which was shrimp put in a shaker and mixed with lime, tequila and cilantro. After we put in our food she came back with our drinks. I realized she asked to put in our drinks first before she took our food bc she had to serve another table. It wasn’t even busy, but she was half asleep so it is what it is. Our drinks were gross. My friends was super sweet with a lot of alcohol while mine just tasted like margarita mix, no tequila. The dumplings were okay nothing special very salty soy sauce. My quesadilla was medicre. Menu said it was served with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole, but it only came with guacamole which looked and tasted store bought definitely not housemade which was very unfortunate. My friend said her shrimp was good. I tasted the sauce and it was super sour. She said the shrimp was cooked well so I’ll take her word for it. The atmosphere was beautiful though. There was a light breeze and it was very relaxing. That’s the only reason anyone should go there. Sit by the water and order bottled beer then it should be a good experience.

I discovered this place on Unilocal.I was so shocked that it was so close to me ! Upon arriving, my sister, brother and I were not greeted. The waiters just looked at us by the entrance and kept being busy. After 5 minutes of waiting, a super spunky waitress came to greet us, and seated us outside. She put us in a corner, but we decided to switch our table because there was one open closer to the beautiful view. The restaurant is very clean, they have an outside dining area with a beautiful view of the water. the inside has a lot of seating, as well as a bar. They have televisions near the bar. I ordered the Coconut shrimp spring rolls, which was so good. We got the appetizer sampler. It came with a little bit of everything from the appetizer menu. The Bayhouse burger is their signature burger, it was really good also. The food was amazing, you get a lot of food. Totally worth the price. The waitress was on point, she made us smile, she was funny, and we were satisfied. Overall, I think I am making this place my GO-TO spot. It’s literally one mile away from my house, and the view is something great to look at, while enjoying great food.

So I’m sad to write a bad review about this spot. I was excited to learn there was a restaurant in Rosedale on the Bay. Who would have thought. Hidden Gem for real… But disappointing. Came with my girlfriends who I haven’t seen in a while. I recommended us coming here. The night started fine. We were seated by a friendly hostess. Then out waitress game. She was rude from the jump. Didn’t say hello just asked«what can I get you». She was snappy and irritable, like we did something to her. We placed orders and waited 15 minutes for drinks. One of my friends ordered a Long Island ice tea which was clearly watered down. You could tell my the color of the drink. Entrees took 45 minutes to arrive, But before we got our food a waiter came with our bill. He said our waitress asked him to bring it. Whatttt… But we didn’t even eat yet. Finally when the food came it wasn’t even hot. The food wasn’t bad just would have been better at the correct temperature. My friend and I got the steak and cake(crab cake). The crab cake was delicious. The steak could have been better. My potato was burnt and the broccoli was too salty. My other friend got the penne a la vodka with shrimp. And my other friend got the founder, shrimp, and scallop meal. They weren’t trilled. So our waitress asked if she could give us the check because she had to leave. Sure why not, but she had someone else give it to us. We split the check 4 ways and the new waitress messed it up. Charged one of my friends double on her credit card, so we had to wait until she fixed it. There was a friendly waiter who came at the end to clean up our table. I told him the service sucked. He agreed and apologized. He said that it was a busy night for them and they didn’t have a full staff. He asked us to come again. No offense but it wasn’t crowded and there was no reason for the way our waitress treated us. Although I liked the location and scenery I don’t think I will be back. I was really disappointed with the service, which is a big aspect of dinning out for me.

The food took over 30 minutes to come and the waitress never checked on us. I didn’t like what I had, it was saturated in butter(broiled shrimp, scallops and flounder combo), and the margarita was watered down, but cheap. My mom did like her fried shrimp and fries though. The waitress didn’t refill our waters, didn’t give the food when it was ready and we had to hunt her down to get the check. We ended up physically getting up to get napkins and wet wipes. When I asked for a manager, they said there weren’t any there that day. Every other waiter was hustling, but ours and she was just hanging out and disregarding her tables. It was honestly ridiculous. I was very disappointed considering the positive reviews on Unilocal and the great view by the water. Perhaps it will be a better experience on a day where the managers are present.

New favorite place. So close to beach and easy to get to and easy to park. Nice outdoor area even though it was too cool for today. Summer will be great here! Good service; asked for water and bread once and brought right away. Baked clams were delicious-small, sweet and lightly breaded. Shaken shrimp is great. Had both old bay and tequila-lime! Clam strips sweet and flavorful. Southwest chicken sandwich was a whole grilled breast, juicy and grilled onions. Good fries too. Greek salad with grilled shrimp was huge. Drinks on the mark as well. Will definitely be back!

Went here for the first time, didn’t even know the place existed. Heard about them through word of mouth. At first I was a bit skeptic because of the location. But it was snowing, close to home… so I figured why not!!! I tried the shrimp shakers and they were so yummy, I kept ordering them . It was Friday night so the special was prime rib steak! I’m not s big red meat fan, but I must say that was a fine cut of meat, cooked to absolute perfection. Not only yummy but melted in my mouth! Full of flavor. The vegetables were steamed to perfection alongside baked potatoe. From a steak house the steak would have run at least 59 bucks by itself easy. But my meal was a whopping 17 bucks Looking forward to summer to eat on their outside deck.
