We opened our first location in Loves Park, IL Nov 11, 1997 then added our Cherry Valley, IL location shortly after and finally Roscoe in September 1999.

Amazing how the reviews are so variable… Ok so you are going to spend your hard earned money for a nice dinner out… GO SOMEWHERE else.
Too many other places to go. Good fish fry. check out Hope and Anchor in Rockford.

I went here last weekend for the first time and can not say enough about the waitress that I had. The food was good, the atmosphere was fine but the gal that waited on my table was awesome. Her name was Ashlee and she was not only a great server, she was fun and funny as well. If you ever visit this establishment, do yourself a favor and ask to be seated in her section.

One of the worst places in Illinois. Who serves a raw burger then puts the same burger in the grill and serves it to the customer. Also the owner was fine with losing business. What terrible edict. For the owner to be the one to allow this to happen and be okay with losing business. All I can say I can’t believe you are still in business and don’t know how to run a business. To all my friends help let everyone know what kind of business this is and hopefully put him out of business before you or a loved one get sick. I will keep posting this all over the Internet til something changes or you are out of business good luck staying in business. I will stop at nothing till everyone knows the real you and how you operate

Sunday all you can eat ribs are great! Food is good here if they don’t burn it. Does need to have walls cleaned by booths. Waitresses are great and so are the waiters. They added a small room to play Illinois gaming which lessens the atmosphere. Tuesday nite is kids night. A buck for each kids meal which is great when you buy your dinner at full price. Could be why the walls are food stained. There is a bar here and if under staffed, be ready for your waitress to cater to the bar people, not the food patrons. Bathrooms need some work. Back to food. Hamburgers are good. Salads are good but small. Specials on steaks and dinners each night. Friday night fish fry is good! Main problem I have here is it’s not clean. Hope the owner reads this. Clean the booth material seats, walls near tables. Dust the stuff on the walls. I mean gees.

2 stars for the waitress. for the food, well can ya enter zero stars. Ordered the bacon ranch pizza appetizer, was it suppose to be a piece of bread with ranch dressing with canned bacon bits on it, cold no less. My Cajun chicken breast I put on HALF the friggin bun it was that small and quite dry (for $ 12.50). My wife’s $ 3.00 dinner salad looked ok with the 2, yes 2, slices of cucumber and one cherry tomato. Chances of returning is the same as the food, zero.

Went here for a business lunch midweek. It was quiet and only a few tables were occupied. Not necessarily a good sign or good for business but it was a great place to have a serious conversation without undue distraction. The food was good (nothing exceptional but satiating), the portions were generous (too much for me) and the service was attentive without being bothersome.

Backyard salad with grilled chicken is awesome. I usually get grilled chicken with backyard seasonings but tonight wanted to change it up and I’m glad I did. Reasonable price for dinner. I’d go back.

This place smells fantastic well before you walk in the doors! But when you do walk in, it is not much of a «bar». The interior is screaming «REMODEL ME!» Restaurant Impossible would have a field day here! The concept is solid, but not a very comfortable atmosphere.
The staff is so far, the best I have come across in Roscoe or the area! Friendly, accommodating, correct mistakes, etc… However, that is just it. I have had something incorrect on each visit. Not detrimental, and they fixed it promptly without making me feel I am wrong, but something none the less. The wrong cheese on a burger, Sour cream when I ask for none, etc… little things! The food quality is mediocre and could be much better.
I will be back for sure, but it is not my «go-​to» place. Quality of staff goes far in my perspective!

Ate here yesterday for lunch and was quite surprised how good the food was. Hard to find a good burger joint in this area, but liked the burger a lot. Had a char grilled taste that made you feel like you were grilling in your backyard! Onion rings were also good, a tad greasy, but overall good taste if you aren’t watching your diet. Those two items were filling. First time here and it looks like they have quite the menu. Look forward to trying something different next time I go.

I like the food but I can’t get past how dirty it was on my last visit. Bathrooms were dirty, sticky table tops, there were footprints on the booths and the dust and food bits in the corner behind the round booth we were in we’re really gross. I was there on a week night. If this is how the dining room looks I am scared to think about the state of the kitchen.

My wife and I stopped at the Backyard Grill last Tuesday for a light dinner, and a cocktail. Brittany, the bartender was really friendly and helpful. We both had the special drink of the night — Margarita’s which Brittany made herself. We ended up with Backyard Salads, both were done correctly. A good place for a burger too, because they use a wood fire for grilling. The staff was attentive and friendly. If you are looking for a local, friendly, good food, place to eat — stop at the Backyard Gill & Bar. They also have a place in Loves Park, on North 2nd Street.

One star is a gift! This place is a health department gold mine! While service was good, food sucked so badly that my dog wouldn’t eat the leftovers. We couldn’t tell if it was grill scrapings or floor sweepings on the food — it definitely was not cracked pepper. It is a crime to charge customers for this @#$%^&*(. Their cost cutting at the expense of quality or poor management or indifference has taken this place to abysmal new lows! Sanitation in the restrooms — horrible with bodily fluids all over. After this visit, it will be a long time before we come back. To the owners — stop living on your past reputation, open your eyes and address the issues before this place completes the slide into pig slop!

Usually we are satisfied with the food here, but during our last visit, we were very disappointed. My wife had ordered her sirloin medium as did our guest. Both were beyond well done. I had the Caesar salad with sirloin and it to was not cooked properly. Our waitress didn’t seem to concerned with any of this. We maybe should have spoke to the manager, but chose not to. After many visits, it maybe time to go elsewhere

I like just about everyone else in this area have had many different Friday night fish fries. This is one of the worst. The cod is very oily from a poor frying process. Other fried food here has been the same such as onion rings and french fries. I would guees that the oil temp is not correct or overloaded.
