I was in Detriit in a layover and was interested in trying a coney. Luckily this location was right next to my gate. The staff here is very friendly and my order delivered promptly. Tge coney had great snap and the chili tasted very good. Together hot dog, chili, mustard, and onions were symphonic.

Can’ remember the last time I had a hot dog but it’s like a rare treat so got my Coney Island dog and was not at all impressed. The hot dog was very plain and the meat sauce was really runny with few splatter of mustard. It just wasn’t very appetizing compared to what I had in NY. The cashier/order-taker looked angry but the guy handing out the food was a good sport and hardworking.

Yum! Get your Hani or Coney fix before you leave Detroit! Fast service and conveniently located in the middle of the terminal. See you soon, burp!

Perfect spot for people or Tarmac watching. Cheap food. Fast service. No complaints for an airport restaurant, which needs to serve quickly.

By far the worst coney I’ve had. I thought I might have chipped a tooth on the skin of the dog.

I just had the best Buffalo Chicken Hani from there… spicy sauce, fresh lettuce and tomato, good pita. It really hit the spot! They also had some interesting hot dogs but have to jump on a plane. Maybe next layover!

I like good eggs cooked to order and a solid diner counter. The coffee was surprisingly good and $ 6.49 buys you two eggs two toasts hash brown and breakfast meat of your choice. It’s not fancy, it’s just good, and the waiters are friendly.

They have vegetarian chili! Had lunch here while waiting for my flight to Fort Lauderdale. Prices were much better than I expected them to be inside the airport. Good service.

After a HORRIBLE day of travel(bad weather) I was happy to grab some midwest comfort food at Detroit metro. I went for a Coney and a Chicago dog. The Coney was standard fair but I was disappointed with the unexpected chopped tomatoes on my Chicago dog. Service was great, and as far as airports go so was the price.

This is a good Detroit Coney Island. Good for breakfast lunch or dinner fast friendly service. If you are in a hurry grab a couple of coney’s and some fries and away you go. Recomended

I grew up in Michigan and this is one of the restaurants I missed the most when I moved down to Texas. I’ve been to other COney Islands down south but they DONOT compare. Whenever I go to coney island I NEED to get a HANNI!!! If you don’t know what a hanni is you need to get one and try it out you won’t be disappointed. It’s in a thick pita bread, with crispy fried chicken strips, lettuce, melted cheese, tomatoes and RANCH.

Great fast service before your flight. I got the Chicago Dog. These dogs have a bite to them and won’t hurt your belly. Yum! Oh yeah… And fountain soda!!! Need I say more?

A national Coney Island that does not serve a hani regardless of time deserves zero stars

Went here on my layover from Lexington, KY to Washington, D.C. Really fast carryout service. The chili cheese fries were great; however, the dog was a bit odd. The frank seemed to have a very chewy casing. It kind of messed up the texture of the rest of the hot dog. If the frank was just a regular frank, it would have probably blended in a bit more with the rest of the chili, onions, and cheese that was on the dog. Too much chewy and hard does not a hot dog make!

My favorite spot when I have a layover @ DTW. Service is usually pretty fast and the food is pretty consistent with the NCI downtown. I only has one bad experience here(as well as many other customers in my section) as the manager on duty decided to take our waitress and have a 20 minutes conversation with her — nobodies food was brought out and some customers were getting pretty upset they could not get their bill to leave. This is totally incompetent on the managers part. But since this is the only complaint I have about this place I will definitely be back to get a coney and small Greek salad!

I’ve had plenty of Turkey Rubens from New York to LA. I can’t tell you which was the best, but its no contest which one is the worst, National Coney island, greasy, almost no Turkey, just gross!

I hope this is for the place located in the DTW airport… it seems like it since other folks are writing for the place in the airport. This is a good place to grab breakfast. I recommend going for the special which consists of two eggs, toast, meat(sausage, bacon, ham), potatoes. It’s delicious and usually comes out pretty quick. It is priced right same as you would expect at a diner outside an airport. The service is usually good and if the place is slammed with customers and the meal might take a little longer they are usually good about letting you know about it but it probably won’t take you more than 20 minutes to get your food. If I have time before a flight or on between these folks are a solid bet for breakfast.
