Knapp Winery understands that food and wine make a perfect pairing, the vineyard restaurant offers an eclectic menu using local farm products to make many of its items on the menu. Local cheese products fill our cheese plates and local ice cream when available complete our desserts.
Our gardens and vineyards along side our facilities make a visit to Knapp a true Finger Lakes wine country experience!
History
Established in 1978.
Knapp Winery sits on the west side of Cayuga Lake only three quarter miles away from its shores. Originally fifteen acres, the now forty-five acre vineyard slopes a mile east to Cayuga Lake. Owner Gene Pierce obtained the winery from Doug & Suzanne Knapp in 2000. The Knapp’s grew grapes for «Taylor Wine Company».
Knapp Winery produces 14,000 cases annually and grows vinifera, and French-American varietals.
Knapp has the capacity to store forty-six thousand gallons in steel tanks, it also uses over ninety oak barrels for aging. In addition to making wine, Knapp has an alembic still that produces Limoncello, grappa and in August of 2015, Cucumber Vodka.
In 1993 Knapp opened Knapp Vineyard restaurant. Wine dinners and special events for public and private organizations are part of Knapp’s offerings.
