Service was fast but not particularly good. The food was poor quality and small portions. I ordered the Cobb salad with added salmon. I wouldn’t recommend either of these items.

Great service, good food, just a bit too busy for its size with limited staff and kitchen capacity. Probably one of the better restaurants in the airport area that serves good food for reasonable price. If you don’t want take out, I would recommend this place.

Excellent little bistro near DTW. We had Burgers and a Rueben and both were very good. They have a good menu with a variety of selections. The service was excellent and we never waited for help. I you need lunch or dinner close to DTW, this. Is the place.

I loved Capitol Bistro so much that I visited twice(once for lunch and once for dinner) during a recent visit to Detroit! Food and service were excellent and the staff were competent, attentive and followed through with excellent customer service! I truly appreciated the kindness and professionalism shown by the staff!

After a long and merciless night and day of travel(red-eye from SFO to DTW cased with a solid day of meetings), I took a nap and then headed out for dinner. My hotel is on Merriman Rd with the rest of them, so I headed out on foot(boss had the car) for a solo dinner. I narrowed the choices using Unilocal!— of course — and headed off for the small restaurant row the other side of the Quik Park from the Fairfield Inn. I had originally chosen the Beirut Lebanese, but changed my mind once I went inside and caught the vibe inside. I punted and headed off for the Capitol Grill. Once inside, I felt immediately better. Clean, well decorated and friendly — the opposite of my original destination. I was able to sit at a table of my choosing and was quickly attended to by my server Sarah. In moments, she had a water and menus(food +drink) in front of me. I ordered a Monkey King ale(local craft brew) and she brought it out quickly and took my order. I chose the Firecracker Burger; burger with pepper jack and fried jalapeños, fries and a pickle. The beer was great(of course, I needed it by then!), and the burger was good. Not a five star — but a solid 4. I would have like a little more zing, but it is Michigan and not New Mexico. The fries were also solid performers — hot and fresh. However, they were not super seasoned or anything. Add your own salt and ketchup to taste. All that said, it’s a FOUR which means I would recommend it and I will come back. I’d also like to mention that the food came out In less than five minutes from order placement. It was a Monday night at about 8pm and a moderate crowd. Very courteous service and I liked the old school décor. It also has a full bar, which I didn’t use, to my regret(I’m a cheap date — one drink kinda liver). Summary: this be the best place near the Quik Park!!!

Had a great dinner. Fried cheese curds fantastic. Nice and crisp on the outside and gooy on the inside. Had both marinara and ranch for dipping. Yum Had a bacon cheeseburger and was done just like ordered, medium. Bacon was super crisp. Totally recommend stopping here.

My work brings me to this area often so I was very excited to find a good restaurant nearby. The menu is simple yet diverse. We sat outside and took advantage of the gorgeous day! The planes overhead were pretty loud so sit inside if that may bug you. I had the ham and cheese sandwich which was delicious(I can’t remember the name on the menu) and I could live off of the ham for a week. The french fries were almost like McDonald’s(which is a good thing!) My friend, clearly the healthier of the bunch, had a salad which was the perfect size. I’ll definitely be back!

The food was pretty tasty but seemed to take quite a while even though we were the only ones in the restaurant at 1pm on a Saturday. We all had salads. The server brought two out, then waited on a carry out customer before bringing the other two. Although it was probably enough food, the portion seemed small for the price. I think this place would probably be great for a burger and beers but for lunch I’d probably go somewhere different next time.

Went in for lunch, small, nice set up attached to a hotel. Above average selection of Michigan beers and wine especially for near airport. Wine glass pours should be noted, wide selection. I had the shrimp diavolo pasta with a glass of malbec. The sauce on the pasta included poblano peppers! Real heat was a nice change. Service was on point. Barkeep Sarah did a great job. Perfect for a business trip stop.

One star for the simple fact that i was completely ignored by the server and decided to walk out. Was greet quite nicely by the bartender who provided the menu and gave me a glass of water while I waited for the server. The server then passed by me once and passed a second time, greeted a newly seated table and told them she’d be back to take their order. Came back from another table and passed me again. Then she went directly to the table that was seated after me and began taking their order. But no worries… I’ll happily spend my money elsewhere.

Excellent service backed up by mediocre food and good beer. Hardest working waitress I’ve come across in years — impressive for a 22 yr old. Lamb was fair at best and small portion size. Serious fruit fly problem, but great service.

This is a great little place with excellent food and service. It has a fairly small menu but everything we ordered was delicious… our favorite was the chicken alfredo. There was only one waitress and one bartender but they were friendly and efficient and handled the crowd like pros.

A very solid 4 and a half stars By far the nicest restaurant in the area. Great live music, too! Very nice after a long plane ride.

We ate here on a Friday night before an early flight the next morning. Atmosphere was nice and clean. They had a man in there playing the guitar and singing. We enjoyed him. Food was ok at best. I had a ham and cheese sandwich and hubs had a burger. Nothing special at all but portions were plenty ample. Prices steep for the quality of food. It’s actually connected to a hotel which we didn’t realize until we had to use the restroom.

Needed to find a decent place to eat close to the airport. We weren’t having much luck finding anything decent within a stone’s throw, but then I found this place on Unilocal.Decent reviews, so we gave it a try. On a snowy Wednesday at noon, there were a total of 3 other people in there. It’s also connected to a low-end hotel. Things weren’t looking great – until we opened the menu. The options actually sounded decent. The selection was small(that’s a good thing). The ingredients in each meal ranged from typical to clever. Good sign! I ordered the turkey club. There typically isn’t much to distinguish a club from another one, and this was no exception – same old ingredients. That being said, the sandwich was great! The bacon was thick and cooked just right, tomatoes fresh(in the middle of winter, no less), the turkey piled high and non-slimey. Everyone generally enjoyed their meals. Burgers looked great. Coffee is Lavazza and looked/smelled great(my brother enjoyed it). Beer selection looked stellar and our waitress was very nice and attentive. If you’re looking for a bite near the airport, skip the fast food and check this out!

I travel a lot for work and always look for great spots to eat at when I’m on the road. Capital has unbelievable service but it’s their food that keeps me coming back. I love this place!

The chicken mozzarella was excellent. The person sitting next to me had the steak tips and they also looked very good. My bartender Mike was very friendly. I love this little bistro.

I preface this by saying that if you’re a traveler and staying by the airport there really aren’t a lot of choices. I got the salmon with mixed vegetables. It took about ½ hour to get my food. And they do not offer a salad/bread as a starter. My fish and vegetables were over cooked and my mashed potatoes tasted like they were made from a packet.

Stopped here last Saturday after landing at Metro. The entire staff was very attentive. They brought us a taste of a local beer to make sure we would like our choice. They made food recommendations based on their recent taste experience. Very comfortable place with a cozy bar area. Will definitely return before leaving town.
