Rolling Meadows Library

Hey its a library! It’s got books !!! Not super huge where its hard to navigate. everything is laid out super conveniently ! Only complaint is that there seem to be a few homeless people that hangout there inside and its kinda creepy

My two-​year-​old twins and I attend their story time on Thursdays and drop in crafts on Fridays. The staff is always so kind and helpful. My girls look forward to the library each week. We love learning new songs and new books.

This library is like a breath of small town fresh air in a bustling mecca of box stores & standard quo service. The librarians are all very pleasant and more than eager to help.
I some time ago to sign up for my library card after living in the town for nearly 3 years. I recently joined a book club and figured it’ll save me some dough instead of buying every single book off of Amazon. The lady at the checkout desk was great, she explained the mapping of the library, overdue fees, and gave me a nice little starter pack of information including a map of the library, bookmark. Just what I needed!
She pointed me in the direction of the fiction librarian to secure my next book club book. It was checked out but she put it on reserve for me so hopefully I’ll have it before week’s end. She said they give me a call once it’s in — what service.
The Rolling Meadows Library is a bit off the beaten path, driving through neighborhoods i wasn’t sure if I was going the right way my first time there. There is a small parking lot on the back side, as well as some street parking out front.
Because it’s not a huge library, they don’t always have everything you may be in search and most likely don’t have multiple copies. However, the librarians are all so great here, they’d be willing to help you get that book in your hand.

It’s very easy to miss this library when you’re driving around the area, but once you find it, it’s a good little gem in the neighborhood.
Why I love this library:
— They usually seem to have what I’m looking for. And if they don’t, they have something else similar that grabs my attention and captivates me.
— Great selection of movies and documentaries. I found a documentary here that I had been looking for months elsewhere.
— Generous: you can have some items longer than you’d expect compared to other libraries and the fines seem to be cheaper.
— Brick walls. High ceilings. Yet, cozy.
— Very friendly & helpful employees.
— Good hours & an outdoor drop-​off box.
What I wish they could improve:
— I haven’t seen any television shows on DVD anywhere.
— An easier online check-​out/​hold system would be better. I have yet to figure out how to do the online holds.
Oh, my husband, who does not enjoy reading or like libraries, came with me once and ended up getting his own card! He has never had a library card before. Success!

I just love this library and what I love best aside from the awesome music collection is that it doesn’t smell or appear rundown.
The check out desk ladies are the sweetest and helpful.
The dvd collection is impressive.
Considering I’m from Chicago and our CPL aren’t up to date or too friendly, I was really taken by Rolling Meadows Library. You also can take out 30 cds/​dvds beat that Chicago Public Library.
