Ordered catering from the manager Melissa. The taco bar, chips, salsas & guacamole were fresh, colorful & tasty. Everything was ready on time as promised. Thank you Rubio staff & Melissa. Great job!!!

Took my daughter to lunch and had such a great experience! The cashier greeted me by name(and I come here less than once a month — what a memory) and was super friendly. Food was fast and yummy. Got one of my favorite salads and it was delicious. Am so glad this is my children’s favorite restaurants.

Sucks you can’t use a employee of the mall discount here but other then that I always get good service and the food is always delicious. The staff is always in a rush but always make sure they have a smile and their customer is always happy.

As good as it gets in PV with so few fast casual options now. No coupons like La Salsa, but our kids for whatever reason like Rubio’s and refuse to eat at La Salsa. Paying a little more is also worth it to keep them in business. They’ve weathered the retail storms at this mall, where most restaurants have failed to survive. So props to still being here. They offered whole grain tortillas long before La Salsa as well, so they seem to be listening to their customers and trends toward healthier options. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating to special requests.

This is honestly the best Rubios I’ve ever been to. The employees are extremely nice, the atmosphere is energetic and modern, and the food is fantastic. My personal favorites are: the classic chicken burrito especial, beer battered fish burrito, and the gourmet steak taco with bacon. This place never gets old.

Excellent service! The restaurant is located at the bottom of a mini mall, with great salsas, and 3-star food. t’s nothing to wowed, but food was good.

I love this place! The manager and staff are very friendly, and the food is as tasty and healthy as you can get from fast food. They are flexible and will make items vegan or vegetarian upon request, and the food and environment are always very clean. I would highly recommend Rubio’s in general, and especially this location.

I think I tried a variety on the menu. I think I had over the years were fish burrito, chicken burrito, and the fish tacos. I haven’t tried any grilled yet though I need to because it is a little heathier. Though the fish tacos is loaded with sliced cabbage(some greens is better than no greens). Fish tacos are always a safe bet with chips and beans(beans, beans, the musical fruit the more you eat the more you toot). They have your variety of salsa from mild to wild. No tapito sauce though. Fountain drinks with coke products such as Coke Zero and Vanilla Coke. Things I noticed that have changed since the last time I was here are instead of calling your name to pick up your food(unless you order to go) they give you a number. They also have real silverwear as well as the plastic folks, knives, and spoons. Nothing much has changed in the interrior. Pictures of Baja California and stuff. Since I am back up here working in this mall(god forbid) there isn’t much to eat around here and Maire Calanders is gone replaced by Vietnamese and of coarse Ruby’s.

Always a delicious, fast meal! The chipotle and mild salsa are fantastic, as are their bean and cheese burritos. You would not expect such simple items to pack a lot of flavor, but Rubio’s does a great job!

The taco salad is absolutely amazing! I love the enchiladas and burritos as well. The location is really good and there’s a lot of seats not only inside but there’s a lot of tables and chairs outside as well. They have good and fast service and the place is really clean!

The fish tacos are great here! But, I came here last night for a quick family dinner,(located in Rolling Hills) I sat down as my mom ordered. I noticed the tables were very dirty. So we asked the only visible worker near by which was the cashier, if she can clean the table. She came to our table with just a NAPKIN and started rubbing it down. She left and it was still filthy. My mom was really disgusted so we moved to another table, it was almost as dirty as the other table. What upsetted me the most was the workers were very slow and not really caring, as I was leaving I seen a man having to wipe his own table down. A customer shouldn’t have to clean their own table. I can just imagine how much lazy and filthier they’re in the back. I guess this explains the«now hiring, any position available» signs. Apply people! They are in desperate need! Other than this my food was good.(:

Sure, Rubio’s is not the world’s best Mexican food. But, look around people, we have very few such options in Palos Verdes and Rubio’s delivers a fresh taco at a modest price. We came for dinner on Saturday night, and the place was packed. The two folks at the counter were a little abrasive, but I think it was a result of the stress to get people through the line. Thanking the gal when I finished disarmed her a bit, and she even flashed a smile. The food is delivered pretty quickly, and the tables are kept clean(there are not many tables — only 12 – 15 inside). We had an assortment of items, and each was delicious. The pinto beans(made without lard) are definitely a light alternative to refried beans and are topped with crumbled cotija cheese. Well spiced and not heavy, I love these beans. Chips are charged for here(so sad), but they are warm, fresh and crisp. The new blackened tilapia taco is served on an almost cake-like corn tortilla with a 2″ wide, 5″ long filet of tilapia that is blackened with a spicy seasoning and topped with a chipotle cream sauce and serrano slaw. The fish was super fresh with no foul odor or flavor, the slaw brought a welcome crunch to the taco, and teh creamy sauce cools off teh heat. The orange shrimp salad is a mixture of romaine and spinach topped with roasted corn and red peppers, black beans, and chipotle shrimp and topped with a creamy chipotle dressing. It was delicious, because the chipotle seasoning adds some heat which is cooled off by the corn and the cream dressing. I tasted a little bit of the filling in the mango-habanero mahi taco — it was definitely spicy and it paired well with the sweetness of the mango. I do have to say that the best taco of the night was the chicken gourmet grilled street taco — a corn tortilla is grilled with an assortment of cheeses and filled with four chunks of chicken and chopped bacon with avocado and a creamy chipotle dressing. Awesome cheesy, salty, creamy goodness. What can I say, I’m pregnant — it was AWESOME. The salsa bar also has excellent choices. There is diced onion mixed with cilantro, which is good on everything. The salsa verde is mild and fresh. The salsa picante is tomato based, and it packs some heat.

this place was good. I’m rerating it because they keep getting rid of the food I like. They had the lobster burrito, i liked. Gone. They had the sesame soy shrimp. Gone. I just dont like the normal stuff. Wife likes their tacos.

I love coming to Rubios. It’s just a great place to grab some decent and tasty Mexican food. I recommend the fish burrito. It is so delicious! I remember coming here with large groups of friends, I mean like over 20 people, and somehow we made it work. And the management didn’t really get mad at us. So, big groups are OK. Sometimes parking is an issue, but that’s just because it’s located in a mall. I would recommend parking on the second level right next to the stairs that are right behind the restaurant. So easy and no one ever thinks of doing that. Come on people, it’s just a couple more steps.

I tried three tacos at this Rubio’s(located in the Peninsula Outdoor Shopping Mall in Palos Verdes/Rolling Hills). The steak taco was the best. The carnitas and chicken taco were overdressed. Both of them had a cream sauce, which was messy and runny. If the sauce is incredible, throw it in. If it is just unappetizing juice, leave it to the side and let the other ingredients speak for themselves. Even though this was fast food, there was not much care taken with the tacos. The meat was all pushed to one side in a huge clump. I did like the fact that they give you the choice of flour or corn tortillas. I’m not the biggest fan of corn tortillas. There is not much in terms of causal eateries at the Peninsula Mall. I suggest you eat before coming here. By the way, I’m usually too hot in restaurants, but this place was surprisingly cool(so much that some guests chose to eat outside instead). This Rubio’s is located on the first floor; parking is free.
