Palos Verdes Performing Arts

I just saw Cats with my family and it was great. I’ve seen several plays at the Palos Verdes Performing Arts center and Cats was the best.
Congratulations to the cast and the production crew, this was a dynamite show. The dancing, singing, and staging was all top notch.

Great sound, great ambiance, great community theatre. I’ve been to a few shows/​plays at this cozy
venue and have never been disappointed. The most recent production was The Best of DOO– WOP, at Christmas.
Our opening act was comedian, Scott Wood, he looks like the offspring of John Elway and a Donkey ! ! ! Amusing nevertheless. A tribute to the Platters a adequate representation, with on point vocals filled the hall with classics. The Tokens produced a fun set covering surf tunes and songs they produced like «Knock Three Times». Who can forget their immortal «The Lion Sleeps Tonight».
Coasters were historical with a living legend, Leon Hughes. He’s a two time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, truly memorable, Hey, we got to hang out a bit at intermission.Great. I would place the Coasters at the end of the show, that’s how impressive they were. The back up band (Billy and the Corvettes Band) consisted of studio pros, really tight, great job driving the groove for the above acts. Check out this place for a unforgettable experience, and remain as classically Feral as possible, never forget your influences. Out Daddy — O !!!

I had the pleasure of attending the Producers here over the weekend. I loved this theater! It is an intimate setting and there isn’t a bad seat in the house. I myself don’t like to sit too close to the stage so I would advise 4^th row and back. During the intermission they actually have a bar in the lobby serving wine, beer, and soft drinks, as well as snacks.
There is plenty of parking nearby — free i might add. The caliber of the production was just outstanding and the price of $ 45.00 was very reasonable. I will definitely be going back for more shows in the future!

Love this theater. Ive been here various times! Mostly for the younger crowds. I have a six year old and I have been taking her to see plays since age four. Great atmosphere for the kids as well for the adults.
The last two that I saw were, The Nutcracker and Westside Story. Loved them both. What a voice and acting skills on these young folks. I enjoyed them both. Its a small and intimate theater which made the experience that much better for me. There is a lot of people that attend to the shows but there is plenty of parking, which by the way is free. Love that!!! We always end up getting great seats for this venues.
Its a definite see if you happen to be in the area. You do have the chance to get a snack or drink during intermission but its a bit pricey for me.

We went and saw «Noises Off.» The show was fantastic and the cast was amazing. The Norris is a small theater and front row is way too close. We were in the third row which seemed awfully close. Either try for the 5^th or 6^th row in the orchestra or go for the balcony. We will definitely be back again and hopefully there will be more people attending. We went opening night for the show and it was half full. I’d expect that if the show was bad but it wasn’t.

We saw «Noises Off» and it was fantastic. Great comedic acting by all the performers. The actual theater was a little small and the rest of the crowd was ancient. Doesn’t anyone in their 30s and 40s go to the theater anymore? I’m hoping Unilocal will encourage people to give it a try. The tickets are inexpensive and well worth the 3 hours of entertainment. Help me take back the theater!

Being a performer who has grown up at this theater performing as well as working, I have experienced all aspects. It is a generally small stage and the seating arrangement is average, but the feel of the theater brings you back to a more classy period of time. Keeping the design intact for the last 15 years (as far as I’ve been there) it instills an old time feeling of what performance should be.
Quite a few of the workers are actually volunteers and have been involved for many years. These people are dedicated to the theater and preserve it as such. It is all about respect of theater and performance which a lot of the younger kids don’t always understand. They will if they ever want to get into Broadway…
Ticket prices are not expensive and the shows are expansive from singing, dance, magic, comedy, and regular community studio recitals. Choose a day and just go. There is no need to read up on reviews, you’re paying a cheap price for an hour or two of good entertainment and will only leave a little more educated on the topic.
Tickets are not refundable. So if anything comes up know it is as a donation to the theater and is supporting the arts.
Age range: kids to senior citizens. Under three years of age may not get the full benefit, but there are some kid shows that are geared for the younger audience.
Packages: There are different kinds of ticket packages depending what you’re into. Have kids? They have a kids package with a good price.

The org I work for received 50 free tickets to check out «High School Musical» (based on the wildly successful Disney movie) playing here. So we load up our vans and off we go.
The venue is simple but very nice. We got balcony seats and the performances were good (the cast are all high school students or college students). The stage was pretty small but they made it work and the show ran smoothly.
I’d be interested in seeing a show here without 50 teens who didn’t want to be there in the first place.
