I work around the corner from this restaurant and always see the employees in my store. So FINALLY I went there for lunch on my lunch break. I had a pasta dish that was the special of the day. I can’t remember the name of the dish, but it has long corkscrew noodles in a creamy sauce with mushrooms and sausage. Omg yum it was so good. I used my bread to scrape the last bit off the plate lol. I’m not sure if I got lucky that day or if it’s a dish they regularly carry on their menu, but it was sooo delicious. I also had the little sundae in a cup for dessert. I liked that too. Steve is the best employee. He always asks if you’re enjoying the food

We have eaten here several times but recently, the food quality and service have been declining. This evening, they lost our order so we waited an hour for our entrée. The waiter had lots of excuses of why it was late. But made no offer to comp a dessert or knock a couple bucks off the bill. On top of the slow service, all four of us had entrees that were average at best. We won’t be visiting this restaurant again. There are far better restaurants to dine at in the area.

This review is based from my visit a couple days ago. Although this is one of my favorite places to go in PV, the last time I went the customer service was sub-par so I don’t know if I will go as often anymore. We went there to be seated around 6 and there was a group of 6 waiting to be seated. They wanted a booth on the inside right so they were waiting to be opened up, so we were expecting to be seated right away since there was a table of 4 empty in the middle. When the waiter went by, we asked if we can be seated there and he nonchalantly goes«Nah, I’m saving that for later» and walks by. When I came on Unilocal,it says that they don’t take reservation which puzzled me.(Maybe they didn’t mark it right on Unilocal, but even if that’s the case, I find it a little hard to understand). They didn’t seat us until two more tables opened up, having us wait for more than 20 minutes with an empty table right near us. Coming from a restaurant where they don’t take reservations, I don’t understand what they’re «saving» for, and to have customers wait more than 20 min. without a table, I am not satisfied I find it unacceptable. The food was good and the server at my table was friendly, but the seating situation made me very annoyed and I probably won’t be back until I forget about this ordeal.

Great service and reasonable prices for the food. I was amazed at how huge the flatbread was and it is definitely shareable among 3 – 4 persons. The roasted beets arugula salad was delicious as well with the bitterness of the arugula and sweetness of the beets creating a balance of flavor for the palate. Lastly, the savoriness of the prosciutto along with the sweetness of the figs and bitterness of the arugula on the flatbread created a harmonious symphony of flavors in each bite. What a great way to enjoy great and tasty food!

First time at this restaurant had lunch with my golf cronies on Saturday. Can’t get in at night for dinner as it is always too busy and they do not take reservations. The flatbread is excellent and so is the eggplant parmagana and the salads. We had two kinds of flatbread(there are 4 on the menu) but I don’t recall all the ingredients, sorry. The booths are CRAMPED as heck. It is a small place and getting there early is the way to go. We arrived at 11:45am for lunch and got seated right away. Service was adequate but we were not in a hurry. I will go back for dinner soon. It was totally packed soon after we arrived.

Closed in the middle of the day on a Saturday… They should update their hours as we drove quite a way to try it out.

My FAVorite restaurant!!! They keep it fresh and offer Specials that incorporate local seasonal produce/fruits. My favorite go to: Cranberry Kale Salad and the Meatball Flatbread. I look forward to Sunday Night Family Supper. It’s a Five Course meal beginning with Antipasto, then their famous Spaghetti & Meatballs followed by a delicious special Salad(changes weekly) the Main Course(Also changes weekly… last nights Tri Tip was fabulous!) and to top it off, Dessert. Changes weekly and last night was Panna Cotta with fresh peaches and black Walnut Preserves… $ 22.50 per person. Awesome wine list. A very friendly staff… This has kept me coming for over 4 years now! I bring everyone here!

Must write this as a rebuttal to Duane P’s review of last evening at this restaurant. I was there also, and from where my husband and I sat, it was entirely different point of view. Is Mama Terano’s loud? Yes, it’s a small restaurant and Italian restaurants are often a place for lively conversation over food and wine. My husband and I were seated in the same area of the restaurant as Duane in the booth direcltly to his back. The pleasant conversation of friends including Robert, the owner, did not disturb our meal in the least. What did disrupt a pleasant evening was Duane’s obscenity laced tantrum about the noise and the meal that he was being comped! He slammed the bill at first the server, then the chef behind the window — all the while ranting about being so insulted, and finally marched to the other side of the restaurant to confront Robert. And yes, swearing followed. But it was not initiated by the restaurant owner! I felt so sorry for the servers, not to mention how embarassed I felt for Duane’s wife, who tried in vain to apologize for her husbands churlish behavior. Please do not take his word about this fine little establishment on the hill. The food is good. Conversation is lively. And it is safe to assume, that since Duane won’t be returning, the family friendly atmosphere will be back !

This place was fantastic! We loved the ambiance, the food was delicious, the wait staff was very warm and welcoming, and the chef brought our Great Dane his very own meatball. We will definitely be back!

Maybe more like 3.5, but rounding up to 4. A pretty good place. I tried: 1. tomato, mozzarella, basil flatbread, $ 12. This is not bad, but too cheese-heavy and not enough tomato for my taste. Others may find it ok, as I tend to like my pizzas and flatbreads light on cheese. The very thin crust also made the cheese/crust ratio very heavy toward cheese. This is a pretty large flatbread, but very thin. 2. roasted beet salad(blood oranges, roasted red beets, avocado, arugula, fennel, goat cheese sprinkled on top), small size, $ 6.50. This was pretty good! Recommend. Nicely balanced flavors, dressed just right. 3. linguine with clams and red sauce, $ 15. Pretty good. A bit Americanized(slightly overcooked pasta, but not too bad, slightly oversauced but I don’t mind having a little extra sauce), but I liked it. Service: pretty good. Friendly, and fairly prompt. Ambiance: cozy Location: on the Brick Walk in Palos Verdes(Brick Walk was filming location for part of «Some Kind of Wonderful», in case you saw the movie and find the Brick Walk looks familiar) Parking: street Kids: no booster seats available. Didn’t ask about highchairs; maybe those are available. No substitutions: I just noticed some reviews mention the«no substitutions» policy. Yes, it is printed on the menu, but we didn’t actually test it. However, my son kept eating only the tomatoes from the flatbread, so asked politely if it would be possible to get a little dish of extra tomatoes, and they were happy to accommodate! I noticed another reviewer requested extra cheese for their kid’s flatbread and were turned down on the basis of the«no substitutions» policy. Hmmm. Maybe because I asked for extra on the side rather than added to the dish it was ok? Or maybe they have changed their past policy for these kinds of requests? I’m not sure. Anyway, I was happy they accommodated us. Overall: A decent place I’d be willing to visit again.

BOYOHBOY. Has the hill bumped it up. I fell in love here. Tiny little spot that I drive by all the time and never stopped and knew where it was. UNTILNOW! A customer of mine brought me here for a buisness lunch and I can’t wait to come back. Chill, beeezy, and cool. Mind you there was one waitress for the whole restaurant, and I never felt neglected. Service people service! We ordered the sausage olive flatbread. That puppy is huge. I had to take 2/3rds home. I also got their beet, orange, arugula salad. Delish. Absolute heaven. Their menu is perfect and their prices aren’t bad either. They even have some sweet lunch specials. Give this place a bookmark and roll through. You won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful small Italian restaurant that is kind of hidden.(Behind Bristol Farms). My boyfriend and I were invited to Sunday Supper by his sister and brother-in-law and their 2 kids. Sunday supper? This was our first time experiencing«Sunday Supper» at a restaurant. It is a pre-fixe menu that they have only on Sunday night that is served family styled. There is only one menu with around 4 dishes and a dessert that everyone eats. We were started out with the antipasto which was slices of meat, cheese with crackers and olives, carrots and cauliflower. This was really good. I don’t know why but the cauliflower and carrots were roasted so well and tasted amazing. Next dish was the spaghetti and meatballs. I don’t really like spaghetti so this dish was just okay to me. However everyone else thought it was really good. The meatballs were huge! Haha. An apple and walnut salad came out next. Arugula isn’t my favorite salad vegetable… but the apples and walnuts paired so well with it that I actually enjoyed it! My boyfriend had like 3 servings and eventually finished all of what was left in the serving bowl. Lol The main course was roasted chicken with sweet potato gnocchi and brussel sprouts. Wow, this was definitely my favorite dish of the nice. The chicken was so flavorful and juicy. Cooked to perfection. The sweet potato gnocchi was definitely an unique twist to more traditional pasta. I was a big fan of that since i LOVE sweet potato. Finally, our dinner ended with an AMAZING strawberry shortcake. Wow, this was the best strawberry shortcake I’ve ever eaten! I would go back just for this. I definitely want to come back to try their regular menu! And of course their Sunday Supper again :)

The flatbread and scallops were both tasty. At $ 21 the scallops were not cheap, and the portion was not huge, but this dish was unique and delicious, being served atop a combination of apple, sage, farro, butternut squash, and pistachio. The flatbread is huge but cardboard-thin, you’ll find yourself reaching for slice after slice. The atmosphere inside is romantic, with darkened lighting. Definitely worth a try.

We have coming to this restaurants for years but for some strange reasons we never thought about writing a review. What can I say, great food and nice people. Kids love the flat bread and coppetta classico desert. The linguini & claim is one of my favorites and overall they have excellent pastas.

I used to come here more often during the school year to find good food at fair prices. I appreciate the half portions because I always end up taking the pasta home anyways. I always like the specialty ravioli which rotates depending on the season. The flatbreads are a must-try. I like the classic tomato basil. The entire flatbread could be shared as a meal for two or an appetizer. The crust is so thin and crispy. I’ve never had a flatbread so! Service is always great. I usually come here for lunch, so I’ll try and check out dinner more.

I’m addicted to the arugula salad with mushrooms & parmesan. I get a large portion($ 10) to go, and it’s a meal. Today I figured I’d get enough food for the whole day, both lunch & dinner, and just take it home. I’d never tried the flatbread pizza so in addition to my large salad, I got a flatbread to go… the one with sausage, kalamata olives, peperonata, & mozzarella($ 12). Well. The flatbread was so huge that someone had to help me carry all the food to my car. How embarrassing… oink oink. This is what can happen when Chico’s classifies me as size 1: I figure I can EAT with carefree abandon. The flatbread is like a super-thin crust pizza & I love it. But the aluminum tray on which I carried it home wouldn’t even fit into my fridge. Oink. I had to store all the leftover pizza on 3 plates. No way will I finish all the flatbread today, so looks like I’ve got lunch tomorrow, too. After tomorrow, will I still fit into the new shorts I bought yesterday? Oink. (Next day update: still eating flatbread pizza, wearing the new shorts, good news… they stretch…)
