Crossing the Jordan Thrift Store

Awesome little shop. The prices are very reasonable and the have some kind of sale almost every day. The store is kept clean and organized with employees regularly sorting merchandise.
One employee however did come at me sideways for saying I was an eBay seller. Claimed I was «robbing people» but that comes with the territory I guess?
Regardless, the rest of the staff is great, and I’ll continue to keep coming here for clothing for my personal collection and eBay.

This is hands down one of the best non profits in Sonoma County! The thrift store here in Rohnert Park as well as the location in Santa Rosa is very clean and organized. Staff is friendly and helpful. I’ve donated items to this charity as well as cash donations. I believe in this non profit and how they change lives!

Hate to post because I would like to keep this place a secret. Moving our son in for college we discovered this little gem. Tidy and organized with good prices. Nice staff. Got a huge comfy chair for $ 10. We will be back.

I’m a big guy, so I don’t always find things that’ll fit – but on my first visit I found two shirts and a pair of pants!
They had an especially good selection of shirts in all styles and sizes, and I found some cool vintage pieces.
Tip: They take credit cards.

Great little thrift store. I rarely find my kind of stuff there, but they are very friendly and motivated folks. I now take all my donations there.

I love this place. It’s my go-​to for knick knacks, jewelry, clothes for my kids, and just to kill time and peruse the floor.
The staff is clean, smiling, very nice. They have a brand name section that’s priced well and I even find lots of brand names in the general racks.

I really want to give them more stars because the people who work there are all very nice. But my complaint is with the (dis)organization of the men’s shirts. The shirts are all just crammed onto the racks with no sorting of size or color. Dress shirts next to T-​shirts, long sleeved mixed with short sleeved, M next to XXXL. Good luck finding something in that mess. Sorry guys, I can’t buy stuff if I can’t find what I’m looking for.
Fortunately, Goodwill is next door, and at least they organize their clothes by size.

I want to give this place more stars because it does have some redeeming qualities but I have gone four times now and been overcharged every single time. Trip 1: there was a sign and the associate informed me that all yellow tagged items were 50% off. I thought that was great, I grabbed four yellow tagged items as well as several other goodies. The total seemed a little higher than I thought, so I checked my receipt and they only took the discount off of one of the four items! I let it go, figured at least it goes to a good cause. Trip 2: I got three kids shirts, just three basic tshirts and they charged me for four. I still gave it another shot and on trip 3 I got a woman’s top and two kids tops. Kids tops are half the price of women’s but they charged me for two women’s top and one kids. For some insane reason I went back today for the last time and got a kids top and women’s top and same thing, they charged me for two women’s tops. I feel I should complain to someone about it, it seems like they are purposely overcharging. I don’t understand how they can mess up this consistently, but I am done shopping here. Otherwise it’s a cute little shop, pretty well organized, but not worth being ripped off every time.

I would say that this location is a step down from the Santa Rosa store. I shop exclusively for Men’s clothing so my review is reflected on the Men’s section only. I guess my only complaint is the shirt rack. It’s one of those racks with a high and a low rack and the shirts are not organized at all. The low rack is really low so by the time you are finished looking through it, you’ll have a kink in your back. Being short, I have a even harder time with the top rack. I do love the way both stores display there pants. It’s a breeze to find the size and the brand tags. You can see what I means by looking at a few of the pictures here. The prices at both Crossing The Jordan stores are excellent. Shirts are $ 4, Jackets $ 6 and I believe pants are $ 6 or $ 7. Everyday they have a half off color so you can get some incredible deals.
A plus about coming to this location is that there is a Goodwill right next store.

I Love this thrift store! I live in southern Marin or I would go more often. If I am in Rohnert I have to visit this store. It supports a great cause, and I always find great deals!

This place is great! I have found several brand name, like-​new shirts and dresses here that I love. They also have a section of brand name jeans.
Their furniture/​knick knack/​book selection is smaller than other stores of this type, but every time I go in there seems to be more and more of these things.
I love that they accept donations during all business hours — all you have to do is drop it in the bin by the door! Super convenient. I love that it’s so easy to donate to the cause I want to support.
I’ve only had great interactions with very kind and helpful staff.
They have a different sale every day of the week — all I can remember from the list are «military Monday» discounts for military families and «Funky Friday» with discounts on vintage clothes. Check out this list right in the front window :)
It’s also right next to goodwill, so if you’re looking for something specific it’s a good location to hit 2 thrift stores at once.

From the employees to the overly cramped/​crammed set-​up to the overly loud music this thrift shop is trying a bit too hard to be hip; so much so that both times I’ve visited I’ve found myself rushing through the store instead of allowing myself the amount of time that a good thrift store scavenger hunt requires. Maybe this over eagerness to appear hip and «not your average thrift store» vibe/​attitude will dampen with time.
In this review I really want to focus on the so-​called «boutique» section of the store. An employee informed me on my first visit that items in the boutique section were new items that had been donated directly from stores and that was the reason for the higher prices of the boutique items. And while many of the items in the boutique section do appear to be new the outdated styles and/​or outdated trendy nature of many of the boutique items left me suspicious of the claim that the items contained in the boutique section are all of a new and therefore unworn/​unused nature. I believe they are using this claim to bolster the prices in this section beyond what one expects or is willing to pay for thrift store items. Case in point; a Calvin Klein dress on the rack at this shop was marked at $ 22.99; that is only a little cheaper than the same dress would have been at Ross. Also, during the same shopping trip I went to the Goodwill store located next door and found almost the same Calvin Klein dress in the same quality for only $ 3.99. When most customers enter your shop first and then go to the thrift store next door and leave with bigger bags maybe you need to re-​think your pricing strategy.
All in all this store is a nice addition to the local thrift shop scene but I’d be willing to bet their business would improve if they found a happier medium between the depressing nature of a visit to Goodwill and the over eager trying too hard to be hip atmosphere that they’ve currently got going. In the end it is just a thrift shop; if I wanted to over spend at a trendy crammed boutique there are plenty of other options in Sonoma County for that.

Stopped by to check this place out. I was not disappointed. This place rocks! Good quality clothes for a great price. Only thing that would make this place any better would be a bit more organization of the clothing sizes… but I came in on the afternoon of a sale day, so they may not have had time to do any recovery. I will definitely be back.

Newly opened, redeemed boutique didn’t shy away from opening right next door to an existing thrift store, Goodwill. I heard the sales associate explain it as «well, people love it when there are several garage sales next to each other!»
Clean, large selection, good prices!

Crossing the Jordan Thrift opened just a few weeks ago. it’s right next to Goodwill’s.

if i remembered my pants size, i would have bought a few.
