Like any chain, you need to consider the baseline experience. The staff does an adequate job of engaging customers, no more or less than any other. They always are chatting up regulars and asking the wrong engagement questions(like most retail employees do). Being nice to regulars is as about as average an experience you can have. What this location has going for it is the large, open layout. Some other GameStops have narrow stores with a hodgepodge of stuff crammed in every inch of space. However, it suffers from the usual problems that GameStop corporate dictates: too much garbage, mediocre design(dark, bland), and poor organization. GameStop policies on used games, pushing certain content/services, and the generally uncompetitive prices are problematic nationwide. Not much can be done about that at a store-level, so it isn’t that relevant, but as always, should be noted. This GameStop, perhaps more than others nearby, has the most potential to be a better retailer. Training employees to engage in different ways with new customers would be a great start, but they will be limited by how flexible they can be with their store presentation. It should be more welcoming, from the second you walk in to the moment you leave. Above all else, a clearly-organized store with a brighter presentation would go a long way to make this location better than it is now.

I think the staff is great. They are very helpful and know their stuff. I find the store to be a little expensive sometimes. But that’s not really their fault, it’s corporates fault.
