History

Established in 1999.

Dr. Kimberly Baer has been a licensed dentist since 1999 in Maryland and Washington, DC. Her partner, Gary Adams DDS has been a licensed dentist in Maryland since 2001. The Doctors have been friends since 1989 where they met in high school. The Doctors practiced separately in Rockville Maryland until April 2012 when they formed Natural Dentist Associates in Rockville Maryland. The unique goal was to provide a full spectrum of Dental Services to the general public with a safe, responsible Holistic Dentistry approach. In addition to routine General Dentistry Services the office is a Dental Implant Center and provides Sedation Dentistry Services.

Dr. Adams has advanced training and extensive experience in the areas of implant, cosmetic, TMJ dentistry and oral surgery and emergency dentistry. Dr. Adams received his undergraduate degree from The University of Virginia in biochemistry. Dr. Adams received his Doctoral degree from The University of Maryland Dental School with a Degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), and completed a clerkship in treating Specialty/​Medically and/​or Mentally compromised patients at The University of Maryland Dental School. Dr. Adams has also trained at the Dawson Academy which is a an advanced educational facility focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ/​TMD problems, cosmetic dentistry, clenching and grinding problems and teeth wear problem. Dr. Adams is also a member of the IAOMT and practices mercury safe, amalgam safe and Holistic Dentistry.

The technicians and doctors are great, they do a wonderful job every time; I went there for many years. However, I will not be back because of their new broken appointment policy, which resulted in a $ 200.00 bill I received after rescheduling a cleaning two times. Yes; I did not just not show up, no; I rescheduled. However, since it was in less than 2 business days from the supposed treatment, they charged me $ 50 per 30 minutes of lost time, so twice $ 100. For a cleaning. I called them, being sure this was a misunderstanding, but all I got was that they are «of course» going to charge this, since they «have a business to run», and all they can do is maybe charge only one time the broken appointment fee, if I «decide to finally show up». I am so sorry, but this is not the kind of treatment I wish to receive from a service I pay for.

Like most people, I tend to wait for a tooth issue before I make an appointment to see the dentist. My molar tooth cracked and thankfully Dr. Adams could see me the very next morning in his Burtonsville, Maryland office. I needed a crown, and two older and worn crowns needed replacing as well. He explained the procedure, the non-​toxic materials they use, and how he could efficiently do the job in three stages. I also opted to remove my last two mercury fillings making my mouth mercury, toxic free! I went to Natural Dentist Associates initially because they specialize in holistic dentistry and the safe removal of amalgam fillings. I am very pleased with the outcome, especially the natural feel and look of the crowns. Dr. Adams also readjusted my bite, making my TMJ go away! I highly recommend Dr. Adams and all the dentists at this practice. I’ve seen Dr. Baer previously, and Dr. Tipograph has treated my teenage son. The staff are all friendly, competent and genuinely caring. I have recommended this practice to a friend whose severe anxiety about visiting the dentist requires sedation, which the dentists here do as well. As you can tell, I like this dental practice a lot!

Before coming to Natural Dentist Associates, my eight-​year-​old daughter had never allowed a dentist to do a full cleaning. I was really concerned about her dental health since her anxiety about visiting the dentist was preventing her from getting proper care. Dr. Tipograph put my daughter completely at ease and was able to do a full cleaning and examination. When my daughter came back to the waiting room, she had a huge smile on her face and told me that she loves Dr. Tipograph! I am so relieved that we found a dentist my daughter feels comfortable with

Everyone hates going to the dentist. Dr. Adams made the experience as good as a bad situation can be. While visiting friends in Maryland, my front tooth broke off at the gumline. So, the trip turned south very quickly. I found Dr. Adams online and they scheduled an emergency appointment immediately. I had a previous root canal in the tooth, so it couldn’t be repaired. Dr. Adams removed the bad tooth and put in an implant so that the pain would stop, as well as putting in a temporary tooth so that I could enjoy as much of the rest of my trip as possible. All in all, a horrible experience, but one that was mitigated by Dr. Adams’ good work.

I can’t say enough good things about this office! To have proficient and talented dentists who also provide natural and holistic dentistry in the area is truly a blessing! I am beyond impressed with Dr. Adams work. They practice health promoting dentistry instead of simply treating disease with potentially toxic materials, and offer multiple options for treatments in addition to the conventional model. Great office. The office staff are on the ball and the hygienists/​dentist have seen me and my husband on time. I really like Dr. Tipograph– she takes her time and is thorough. I’ve only had one appt here so far but I’m planning on this being my long-​term dentist.

I had my mercury amalgams removed here and they are very professional and careful. I would highly recommend them for that but they don’t do much of the follow up on detoxification, just the procedure. Some if the dental assistants are nice but they seem to change every time I go. I was annoyed with one that just went ahead and started taking x rays without even looking at my file or at my mouth. Also, when I had a crown done, the lady from the front came to be to authorize the payment when I already had a huge whole in my mouth, so what other option did I have at that point? They should be more organized on that aspect, even though they seem to have lots of front office and assistants around.

I’m not an avid Unilocaler however felt compelled to leave this review of Natural Dentist Associates (formerly Bethesda Dental Spa). Over the last 3 – 4 years I’ve had an incredible amount of work done… implants, fillings, wisdom teeth removal, you name it. Throughout all these procedures I felt confident in my dentist and felt they knew exactly what they were doing. It’s apparent the staff are on the ball and have gone through extensive training. To top it all off you’ll always get a good feeling when visiting this office– everyone’s so friendly.
