Autohaus Team, thank you so much for your fast scheduling, timely work and excellent service on my beloved wheels. It gives me much peace of mind on my stressful commute to know that my car is in great shape thanks to your help. I look forward to joining the German car fans in your other reviews and using you as my regular garage.
PS, for those of you new to the location, one thing I found helpful to note is that the G in the physical address is a more helpful navigation tool than you might expect. You’ll see multiple garage bays in close order at that address on Westmore Road. Keep your eyes peeled for the «G» located above the garage bay, which will be will be located to the left at the end of the street.

After receiving an estimate of over $ 1900 for a repair by BMW of Silver Spring I called Jeff and he couldn’t have been more helpful. He was honest, professional and very responsive. After extensive testing he determined that one of the repairs that BMW called for was indeed unnecessary. Jeff saved me $ 1500 and I couldn’t be more appreciative. I am happy to found a mechanic who is more interested in a long term business relationship.

I took my 2008 Mini Cooper here to get the rotors and brake pads replaced and they did an excellent job. John was very pleasant and helpful to work with. I will be bringing my Mini back here for any future work needed.

Having an issue with my BMW and John at Montgomery Autohaus was such a pro. I dropped the car off prior to some travel, John communicated every day via email and let me know that they could not find anything significantly wrong with the car, but highly suggested new spark plugs which had never been changed.
John provided an estimate, had the car ready on time and bill ended up being less than the quote —

The key tumbler in my 2004 SLK wore down and wouldn’t turn, so I couldn’t start the car. I got quotes from other places upwards of over a thousand. This place came in under $ 400. Plus, they’ve replaced locked ignition switches before. I didn’t want anyone ‘experimenting’ on my car.
They did excellent work. I couldn’t tell the ignition was even replaced. It was music to my ears when the car started.
The manager, John, gave me an accurate quote and told me what to expect. He informed me that the ignition housing may get damaged (which it did) and if so would have to be replaced. He was professional and quick to respond to my emails.
I highly recommend this place.

Edgar is the man! This guy can really break it down for you in layman’s terms. There’s no miscommunication with this guy. I am happy to say I found my mechanic shop.

I am always very wary about taking my car to a new mechanic, but after a dismal run with BMW servicing, I stumbled upon Montgomery Autohaus on the web and was impressed the amount of positive feedback.
Just had a full trailer hitch and mounting bracket installed on my BMW x5m yesterday and am very happy with the work and the service that I received.

If you aren’t having Edgar fixing your car, you’re really missing out on great customer service. I found Edgar by chance on Unilocal,and I had heard about his shop in passing a few times from friends. When I bought my SL55, I knew hefty repair bills would eventually pop up. Not so with Edgar! I have had problems with my trunk, my suspension, my secondary air injection pump, and other random annoyances. Edgar always gives a quick diagnosis, calls you and explains the issue and cost (he is very reasonable with his labor rates), and confirms you want to move forward with the repair. Other mechanics I’ve gone to in the past bill an arm and a leg, don’t get your authorization before starting work, and take your car for a joyride while at it.
Edgar is a consummate professional and I can’t recommend his shop enough. You won’t be disappointed.

My car is Mercedes CLK 350 soft top convertible.
I have had the greatest experience about my car with Edgar. He saved me thousands of dollar. My car was gas and oil leak. First, I took my car to Autobahn autoshop. This guy checked my car and gave price $ 1,700 total. I asked him detail about why I have to pay that much just for gas leak. He said my car has a lot of things must to be done. He wants to change my car battery even it is workign perfectly, oil change, filter change, service A charge and more and more. I did not trust this guys. He did not show me any thing but a bill how much I will pay. I know he thinks I am a girl so I do not know anything. Thanks God. I found Montgomery Autohaus and met Edgar.
You know what Edgar did for me? He showed me how and where my car got gas leak and how much to replace it on a retail website. He asked me if I have car warranty. He read through the policy and contact warranty customer service to cover part for me. My car oil is just fine not needed to change until next 5,000 miles. I just paid for $ 150 total… yes just $ 150 because it is in warranty coverage. and I think you know how much I have saved.
His employee gave me a ride to work because I had to leave my car over night. Edgar picked me up at my work on the next day so I can drive my car home. He also taught me how to care of my car. Edgar is an amazing and honest mechanic guy I ever had. I will come back to have my 4 tires changed tomorrow.

One day before Labor Day weekend, my wife noticed that a piece on the convertible top cover had become dislodged when the top was down on our 2003 BMW 325ci. (My fault of course!) It was a small plastic piece, about the size of a 3×5 index card, on the top cover near the left window, and held in place by a spring. I tried to put it back in place, but the spring got dislodged and fell down into the inside well in the top down position. I quit while I was ahead, and felt fortunate that at least I didn’t break the plastic piece itself!
I decided to call three shops for an estimate– the BMW dealer on Rockville Pike, as well as two shops that got good reviews from consumers. The person on the phone at the dealership told me he didn’t know what I was talking about, but that he would have a ‘specialist’ call me back. That already sounded expensive, but no worries, they never even bothered to call me back! Next, I called and spoke to the owner of an independent shop. He wasn’t quite sure what I was referring to, and asked me to please give him the VIN number. Huh? OK, maybe he was afraid I stole the car. In any event, he did reply, but told me to bring it in for him to look at, because he still wasn’t sure what I was talking about.
Fortunately, I next called Montgomery Autohaus and asked for Edgar, based on all the good things I had read about him. Edgar answered the phone, and knew exactly what I was talking about! He told me if we can’t find the spring, I was looking at about ten bucks max for the part, and said come on by at my convenience. A few days later I stopped by, and he came out to take a look. He had me put the top up halfway and hold it, and fortunately, he fished the spring out of the well. Five minutes later, he had put the piece back in place, and would not charge me for his time! Any guesses where I am taking our BMW for service from now on?
I cannot say enough good things about Edgar, one of the nicest people I have ever met, not just among mechanics, but anywhere! He grew up learning about cars, especially BMWs, from his father, and his love for what he does was quite apparent. I hope the owners appreciate what he brings to the business, the man is worth his weight in gold!
PS. My wife was right! I just dislodged the same piece on the right side of the car! At least I know now how it happened, reaching into the back seat for my packages, putting my hand down on that piece as I reached in. See you soon Edgar lol!

I found this business from Nashville strictly by searching online, reading reviews where I could find them, and calling for info.
I was looking to get A/​C work done on an M3 for my girlfriend in Maryland, and long story short, the experience was better than she or I ever expected.
Upon a front to back inspection of the car by Edgar, he informed us of an additional problem with the front end that was critical in nature. He took the time to walk around the car, point out certain things that needed immediate attention, and things that would need to be repaired soon. He took lots of time and explained things like we had never experienced before anywhere else.
The work was completed fast, and the price was very reasonable. We also took advantage of his Unilocal special. After inspection we were informed the A/​C work could be between $ 300 to $ 1200 depending on the problem. Turned out, it was only a loose wire under the dash that was fixed very inexpensively and it has the air blowing cold air like a champ.
The car is driving and handling fantastic after the repair now, and Edgar and Montgomery Autohaus have proven that they deserve return business whenever work needs to be performed going forward.

I would highly recommend this shop to any Mercedes Benz owner. This is not your average indie MB shop. Edgar is a class act. Edgar has continued to provide exemplary auto and customer service that MA has provided to me for the last 10 years, when Rogar was at the helm.
I needed an Alternator fix fast. Even though MA was booked until next week, he was able to fit me in the schedule and at a great price. If you want to dodge the ‘dealership tax’, call MA.

Cesar and his team took great care of me and my MINI. He helped me identify and prioritize repairs, explained the what and why behind the recommendations, and was helpful in looking for ways to keep costs low. I especially appreciated the timely communication and speedy service I was given.
I have dealt with other service centers and the dealer; Montgomery Autohaus bests them easily. Because MINI’s need special service, I’d strongly recommend entrusting your car to someone who is going to be diligent, trustworthy –and affordable. Montgomery Autohaus’ service is top notch on all three counts!

Just adding more kudos to Montogomery Autohaus:
They’ll explain what the Mini company «recommends» (often costly) and then, the «real deal» — and you choose what you want to do. For instance, Minis use «run-​flat» tires which allow them to run even while flat (hence, «run-​flat»). This is because there is no spare (no space to store it on the car).
They let me know I can purchase non-​run-​flat tires for half the cost. They last just as long (which, by the way, is not very long!) I have Triple A so if I’m stuck with a flat, this is not a problem.
This place is great! They take good care of my Mini and my wallet.
