They are doing a good job, but 100% agree with others about the dishonesty. Many times Michelle tried to charge me extra $ 3 for gel removing, when i didn’t had any gel in the first place.

So far this place is the worst nail salon in Rockville area. I’m not sure if it was my bad luck to get this lady to do my nails or not but she did a horrible job at it. She missed a lot of spots but then blamed it on the color. It was almost like she couldn’t see through her glasses while she was working on my nails. Instead of making a fit about it, I just paid and walked out the door. I will never return to this salon even though it’s so close to home.

I have been highly impressed each time I have been to this salon. Today, I had a manicure and pedicure. The technicians are very skilled, friendly and make the experience wonderful. I do not live in the area, but will be making a special trip just to have my nails done at LV.

I’ve been coming to LV Nails for years. The service is amazing and the staff really know what they’re doing! I think their prices are fair — I wouldn’t go unless I thought I was getting a deal. Their spa services are also great; my eyebrows have never looked better. I highly recommend LV Nails to anyone looking to get a great mani /pedi in a relaxing atmosphere!

I would have to agree with others about the dishonesty. Double check posted prices when you check out to avoid being overcharged.

Cheap prices — beware, you get what you pay for! I went here on a whim and had major regrets afterwards. The lady who did my nails did not know what she was doing. She had to redo my nails because she left cotton fuzz painted with the polish. Worst, she painted over poor quality nail polish remover which then left bubbles on my freshly painted nails. I did not notice this until I got home. I spent hours painting over my «salon» nails in an attempt to fix it. All in all, I wasted countless hours to have ugly painted nails and bad memories. Now, it is less hassle just to do it myself the first time, and much cheaper!

Was not very impressed with this salon. The staff was very nice and very friendly. However, it was the quickest mani/pedi I have ever gotten. The girl doing my nails cut the skin next to my big toe by accident and she seemed totally shaken up by it. She tried to clean it up several times, to the point I think the alcohol was irritating my skin more than it was cleansing it. I went here because I couldn’t make it to my usual salon — I think I will plan better next time.

Nicole R’s review was spot on for this place. I have also been mislead(twice!) by the owner of this salon. I am most annoyed with myself for going back a second time! First time, I was convinced to try the gel mani but was told I had to come back to the salon when I wanted the polish removed because it «couldn’t be done at home.» I followed the owner’s advice and retuned for the removal and a second manicure. At checkout, she rang up a $ 3 charge without telling me about it. I asked her where the extra charge came from; she explained that it was standard charge for gel removal, and I was surprised. I told her she didn’t mention the fee when she told me to come back to them, and that she initially made it seem like removal was part of the service. She that I could have taken it off at home if I wanted to; I reminded her of our previous conversation. She was non-apologetic about being misleading. It’s not that I mind paying a few bucks, it’s that it felt sneaky, and I was disappointed that she didn’t accept responsibility for the«confusion.» After that I found another salon and stayed away for maybe a year. Today I went back and got duped a second time! Im afraid my complaints sound petty, but after my a second lousy experience, I wanted to post for those who might be thinking about trying this place. Today, I asked for a certain color of OPI polish by name as I didn’t see it displayed. She said they had it and then spoke in Vietnamese to Holly, my(sweet and skilled) manicurist. I heard her name the polish. Holly did the manicure; I assumed with the polish I asked for. When she was done, I looked at my nails, which were clear instead of the opaque pink I expected. I said to the owner,” I don’t think this is(name of polish)” and she said, «it’s not – we don’t use OPI gel anymore because it makes nails thin. This one is very similar.» It wasn’t similar. I told the owner that it wasn’t what I asked for, even though she said she had it. I realize I probably sound like a jerk, but I get a manicure once every month or two and relish the treat. Again, this felt sneaky. Honesty would have been appreciated; I would just have chosen something different. Like the first time, the owner was non-apologetic and offered no resolution. Ultimately, I find the management to be sneaky/dishonest. I’d much rather have someone be upfront with me, even if its just over a couple of bucks. Just down the street(on college parkway, in the plaza at corner of college pkwy and 355), there is a salon under new management that I like very much; it’s family owned and operated by sweet people with great prices and honest service. Check it out – it’s next to the Bubble Tea restaurant in the plaza perpendicular to Magruder’s. it’s not only cheaper(gel mani for $ 25 instead of LV’s $ 30; no charge for polish removal. Pedi for $ 20 instead of LV’s $ 25). It’s also run by a great family. They even offer water, and take special care of small children who might be in with their mom for a first salon treatment. :) Ask for Kathy. Avoid LV’s sneaky practices and give another honest local business your money instead. I wish I had been able to get an appointment there today; I’d have avoided this nonsense in the first place!

My nails needed desperate help after I was mismanaged at another salon. Michelle took me as a walk-in and re-did my nails perfectly. She was gentle and efficient and suggested a different kind of powder. She shaped them perfectly, they last for three weeks, didnt chip or lift or even break! When I went back the second time, she was just as amazing as the first. The salon is clean and they always accommodate me as a walk-in. So happy I found them!

The good: — friendly staff — conveniently located off 270 — reasonable prices — ample, free parking Despite the pros, I wouldn’t recommend this nail salon. I’ve had a few mediocre experiences there. First, they recently started offering an OPI natural nail overlay. It’s a polish that is long lasting and doesn’t chip. I went there for a manicure and was talked into trying it. I was never told that it was indeed like an overlay. You have to come back to the salon to have it removed because if you try peeling it off yourself, you’ll peel away layers of your natural nail as well. I felt mislead, overall. Secondly, I’ve had my eyebrows waxed there and they butchered them. Pencil thin brows are just not flattering for most faces and they were definitely over-waxed. Third, the last pedicure I had there was a disaster. The cuticles were cut way too short and the employee got carried away with cutting my toenails which caused me to bleed. I was lucky enough not to walk away with an infection. Lastly, I noticed that I contracted athlete’s foot after a few visits to this nail salon. I’m not certain I got it there but I never had issues in the past and it took months for it to go away(with treatment).
