I love Dark Star. There’s always a small but nice selection of stones and rock specimens and affordable sterling jewelry. The gallery attached is also a beautiful take-in. They’re in a great location where the back window looks straight out to the ocean– it’s ethereal at the right time of day. Dark Star’s selection of metaphysical books is wide for the small space they inhabit and the store itself is very charming, warm, and inviting. The shopkeeper is always friendly and lets you shop around without interfering, she even gave me a free incense stick: D Also, the sand mandala is AMAZING. Go see it while they still have it!

I’ve always been drawn to Wiccan shops and this was no different. The inside is packed with crystals, scrying pendants, books & jewelry. The shopkeeper offered no smile or greeting — always makes me less inclined to buy something when people act as though I am imposing in their shop: P I fell in love with her glass wares but couldn’t bring myself to pay $ 75 for the stained glass fairies. I’m sure we’ll stop in again to see the artist gallery — neat place to browse, if anything. Also, do not bring small children in – this place is a house of breakables.
