HORRIBLE!!! These ladies have no idea what they are doing! They are also rude and unprofessional. I brought my bridesmaid dress in for an alteration (shorten the spaghetti straps, add bra cups, slightly take it in around my rib cage). It cost $ 75 and it took them nearly a week to do it and they destroyed the dress. It was almost un-​wearable once they were done with it, which made for a very long day at the wedding.

I recently took my Daughters Prom dress in for some simple alterations. It needed a simple hem and a clasp replaced in the back. My Daughter and I took the dress in on a Friday. We brought the actual shoes she would be wearing and explained what we needed. She had my Daughter put on the dress and shoes then began pinning the area to be hemmed. She told me it would be $ 45 and to be «safe» I could pick up the dress on the following Wednesday. Five days later. It seemed longer than usual for just a hem and a clasp but I didn’t want to rush her to do it and being Prom week, I assumed they were busy. On Wednesday, I picked up the dress. I rang the bell at the front desk and apologized for having to use it. The woman said it was fine because it was the sound of money. I was taken back by the statement, but disregarded it.
When my Daughter came home at 5:30 p.m. I had her try it on to make sure it was okay. It was immediately clear when she put the dress on that it was exactly the same length it was the day I brought it in. Absolutely NOTHING had been done. The clasp had been replaced but the one side was smaller than the other and wouldn’t stay connected. I immediately called the store explaining what had happened. The woman on the phone had to ask me what color the dress was, how much I paid for it and what color of hair did the woman have that I picked the dress up from. REALLY? How about what is your name? I explained that I was there only a few hours earlier. After simply explaining that no alterations had been done other than a cheap clasp repair, she became defensive as she randomly blamed ME. First, she told me that we must have brought the wrong shoes in, Second I must not have had my Daughter try it on correctly (there is a wrong way to try on a dress? Third, that I didn’t pick the dress up with my Daughter to make sure it was okay? (new requirement for checking ones work I guess). She finally stated that they were closed and I would have to call back after 9:00 am to resolve the issue. It was 5:45, they are open until 6:00 and I live literally across the street. My Daughter was in tears.
The next morning at 9:00 am I called again. I explained the situation yet again and was met with the same excuses. She asked me to bring my Daughter in immediately and she would do the job in 15 minutes. Wow, 15 minutes vs 5 days. Did she just channel a magical Keebler Elf or was there a magic wand involved? I explained my Daughter was at school and I couldn’t get there until after 3:00 p.m. She then asked if I could try on the dress to do the hem? I am 2″ taller than my Daughter which didn’t seem to make a difference to her or her hemming skills. I am no tailor but that seemed odd to me. I finally told her that I would not be coming in in the interest of time and their lack of concern that the failed to do any work in the first place. She seemed insulted as she professed her 22 years of experience and that I somehow had caused this incident for many ridiculous and moot reasons.
I realize that there are a lot of decent reviews on this business and I for one took those to be accurate when I chose them… however… that was not the case from beginning to end. I paid $ 45 for a $ 2.00 clasp and clearly the customer is always wrong here. So if you choose to believe the 5 star vs my 1 star opinion, then ring the money bell. I won’t be visiting the fairy realm of seamstresses anytime soon.

They saved me!
I had a very formal event Saturday, and made the mistake of going to another place to get my gown also dry cleaned. I picked up my still dirty, terribly altered gown Friday at closing. I cried. I called Top Alterations to ask if they could do anything. The woman answered and, even though it was almost closing, she said to come right away!
I put on the dress and showed her a photo of what it was supposed to look like. She cut the terrible sewing job from the last place (good thing I asked to keep the extra fabric!) and measured me the right way. She stayed longer than she hoped just to measure the dress and have it ready by noon the next day for me. I felt so bad, but so so thankful to her!!!

My wife and I enjoy the Christmas holidays and dress in Dicken garb during the holidays. My wife’s hat needed some alterations for fit and since it was very custom we needed help. Nadia was the person to see. I had seen the reviews on Unilocal about Top Alterations and we decided to try them. WOW!!! Perfect work, better then expected quality and very well priced. Yeah!
So a few months latter, I needed some help and hoped for the same care. My arm chair needed a couple of arm covers. I described what I needed to Nadia and she made me a simple mock up to take home to verify fit. I put in a few pins for length and gathering and returned to Top Alterations. Nadia quickly grasped what I needed and quickly proceeded to make what I needed.

The seamstress at Top Alterations saved my daughter’s Senior Ball! We bought a dress online, and for an extra fee paid for «custom fitting». Well, the dress arrived and it didn’t fit. Was too small (and my daughter is tiny!) The zipper broke before we could even get it all the way up. With Senior Ball only a week away, I scrambled to find someone who could fix it, in addition to making a seemingly impossible alteration to the straps (they were so short, they cut into my daughter’s shoulders!).
After reading the Unilocal reviews on Top Alterations, we took it down there and explained what needed to be done. The seamstress said she could let it out and fix the zipper, but that it would take a miracle to fix the straps because they hadn’t left any extra fabric to do so.
We asked her to do her best.
On the day of pick up, my daughter tried on her dress and it fit perfectly. The owner herself worked some magic and lengthened the straps. We are so thankful for their help and will be customers for life!

This place always does impeccable work with reasonable prices. They have the ability to look at an item and tailor it to give it a custom look and fit. I trust them with all my nice clothes. Thank you Top for giving us outstanding service!

Top Alterations did my wedding dress and were very helpful with accommodating my fluctuating weight before the wedding. They even put the picture of my dress on their website! They were very helpful, patient and friendly. Use them for your tailoring, cleaning or alterations!

Love this place! Fast. Professional. Reasonably priced. My son’s shorts were torn on the corner of the ping-​pong table. Fabric ripped in two directions. Nadia fixed them and you can’t even see where they were damaged! Thank you for the great work!

Update! I heart Maryam. I am in and out with my alterations in a flash. When you shop as much as I do and can’t wear all your cute clothes because they need to be hemmed, altered, fixed… do yourself a favor and take them to her. She revived some clothes I thought were dead. Thanks Maryam, you saved my investments.

I went in to get a bridesmaid dress tailored. Its nice that they are one of the few people to regularly answer the phone and they do same day alterations, but they’re also very pricey and not that accurate.
My dress ended up 2 inches too long even in my heels when what I had specified was that it be just above the ground. Thus, it kept dragging the whole day when I wore it, but I didn’t have the time to go back and make them fix it.
The cost was also $ 35 for just hemming whereas other places you can do it for like $ 15. This guy with a jacket came in before me and she charged him $ 50 and tried to claim that her boss would’ve charged even more.
They also charge $.50 for using a credit card, which is very annoying when tailoring’s so expensive to begin with.
