The Color Bar

Location: The color bar is located within Phenix salon suites. The Phenix suites building is broken down into individual rooms in which each salon professional provided their services. It may vary between barbers, hairstylist, estheticians and ect.
I really actually enjoyed this type of setting because it provided the peace of mind of getting your hair done without any extra noise and being in a private room.
This review is for Janelle the owner of the color bar.
Janelle really knows what she’s doing, she is a master at her craft. Prior to getting started we discussed what we were going to do with my hair. She listens to every detail. I did, come in completely clueless to what color I wanted to do, and I am so very happy she offered me a third option and was able to work with the color I had initially. I typically am very cautious when it come with people dealing with my hair because I’m never satisfied with what they do either because they cut too much, didn’t do what I asked for or ect, but with Janelle she takes every request and delivers. Im finally done box dying my hair myself. I’m pretty sure I’ve found my permanent stylist and colorist. Thanks Janelle for transforming my hair!!!

Janelle is AMAZING! She takes time to find out about you and really do what’s right for your hair. Which is totally hard for blondes, we like to damage our hair way too much. She does what’s right for you AND your hair. 5 stars!

Discovered Janelle by chance from Groupon. What an incredible ‘find’ she is! 5-​stars and then some! She KNOWS her craft well and you absolutely will not be disappointed. I left the salon feeling like a Goddess :) I’m a special-​needs parent, so Janelle was able to accommodate my ever-​changing & unpredictable schedule. With that said, I totally will be referring my special-​needs mommy friends to her! First-​time clients get an awesome deal! Book her now and look & feel like a Goddess too! :)

I had my hair colored by Janelle, she is fabulous! She took the time to explain what she was going to do, how she was gonna prevent breakage and explained her technique! She told me she was trained at Paul Mitchell academy, they are clearly churning out great stylists!
I absolutely loved the technique she used for my Balyage! This is the best haircut I’ve ever had!

I too never got to meet Janelle. She texted me 1 hour before my appointment to say she had to cancel because her son was sick. I said I was disappointed and asked for a new date and time. She responded that I should get a refund. It was hard to get her to respond to text messages (she only communicates this way) to make the appointment in the first place. Her response to the situation was completely unprofessional. She seems like a flake given the other reviews. I can’t stand a flake or someone who is downright unprofessional. BEWARE!

So I gave The Color Bar another chance and I do not regret it. Janelle does amazing work. She’s very sweet and listens to whatever I want with my hair. Even tho we started off on the wrong foot, she apologized and totally made up for it. I’ve been going back to her for the last couple times. My hair has come a long way and it’s everything I wanted :) so I would highly recommend coming to her for all your hair needs, if you want someone who is up to date on all the new products and techniques.

I have been a long time customer of Janelle’s. I have followed her from her previous salons to her now current «Color Bar». I am one of the most demanding and picky clients she has ever dealt with, but no matter what, she has always been able to succeed and surpass my expectations for my hair. She has the utmost professionalism, skill, and genuine care for her clients and their needs. I would highly recommend her services to others!

Never got to meet janelle, as she never showed up for our appointment or would respond to calls and messages.
I bought a groupon for a cut, style, partial highlights and made an appointment. A couple days prior to my appt I called to confirm and janelle. I am a working mom, and finding time to break out 3 hours from a day during business hours is extremely tough. The day of the appointment I arrived 10 minutes early. My appointment was at 1:30, and I waited until 2 pm. I called several times, and left messages. I proceeded to continue calling for several days. I never received one answer or response from Janelle. Not showing up, responding, or returing a phone call is EXTREMELY unprofessional and incredibly rude. Luckily, Groupon issued a full refund. I DO NOT RECOMMEND attempting to use this service. Customer service means everything in this industry and Janelle has none. She needs to close up shop and find a new line of work.
