Smog ‘N Go

Interesting enough we had come here after doing an oil change right next door at Jiffy Lube. It was very convenient and the service is great. Along with smog checks, I believe they also do DMV registration renewals. That right there is a time saver. We came in late Thursday and we were out of there in no time. The service was excellent and the customer service at the counter was great. For quick and reliable service check this place out.

Love the convenience of Smog ‘N Go stations. I used to go to the one in Elk Grove and now this Rocklin location is closer. Love the quick service and the $ 10 coupons. You can probably get a smog check cheaper elsewhere but I like not having to search for random locations, but to stick with the same company. They take care of your paperwork and send smog certifications directly to DMV. Smog checks usually take 20 – 30 minutes and they’re always prompt and polite.

I have used this place many times. It seems as though recently that there isn’t a focus customer service. And let’s be honest, with smog stations a dime a dozen, you would think they’d bend over backwards to ensure this happens. My wife and MIL came here last week and were treated rudely when he belts were squeaking and needed be replaced. Instead of kindly letting them know, they belittled them and made them feel unsafe and uncomfortable. We got it fixed, so I brought it back to see if anything changed. While there were no problems, but I was able to pick out the guy who provided the bad service. While waiting for my car, he was short, rude and unappreciative to the 3 – 4 customers who came in while I was waiting. Safe to say I will be finding a new place to take our cars from this point forward.

I even pay a little more than the bargains in the postal circulars to come here. It’s always quick, they seem knowledgeable enough and don’t waste any time. No nonsense, get in and get out. They also have free wifi and you can print a coupon on their website.

That. Was. AWESOME!!! I happened to find a coupon just before I went in, but there’s one here on Unilocal too. Super quick, easy, & totally pain free! Great service! I was in & out in about 20 minutes!
They’ll even take care of your registration so you don’t have to go sit at the DMV all day!

Just visited again yesterday after communicating with corporate regarding questions concerning bringing in an out of state vehicle. My questions were quickly answered and when I visited again in person, the test was quick and no issues as usual. I drive by several smog places on my way to this one and I will keep doing so. Will i be back to this place NO! Most unfriendly personal i have ever came across! Yes the test was quick (but that has nothing do do with them). And i was the only person with a vehicle in the shop. The manager sat behind a wall and only came out to take my paperwork and $. Didnt explain anything after the test. Didnt even tell me if it passed or not. The place was dingy and dirty and the bathroom a mess. Ick. Oh and they left my lights on and didn’t put the seat or steering wheel back like they got it. Not a huge deal but unprofessional. They didn’t even walk you out to your car or say thanks for your business.
Went to Jiffy Lube and over friendly and polite. Not sure if they are owned by same people or company headquarters but i Only go here for oil changes. They rock!

This place was absolutely terrible. They advertise two fees for registration, and transfer of title on their website, and then with those fees in mind when i get in there i tell them how happy i am that they are faster and cheaper then dmv, and how i saw the prices online for each service and how thankful i was. They just smiled, and told me they would get me the employee that is registered to do these… After waiting 20 minutes for them to be done, they come out and they price is $ 138 dollars more than I thought it was going to be… I have a 5 month old infant baby, and I am only 19 years old, thankfully I was blessed with family that was able to go to a bank and transfer me the amount to cover that, but if I hadnt of been, I would of had to find a ride home, and been left with no car, no commute to work, and then no money for bills… Something so small by mentioning there will be extra fee and tax that add up to almost $ 140 more than advertised, would of saved me this issue, and I simply would of gotten my smog and waited til I got paid to do the rest, but they left me knowledgeable and stuck. Once again, with my infant in my hands, I will also we complaining to this company directly… I highly advise to do your business elsewhere…

they were fast, pleasant and helpful doing my smog check and sending the info to the DMV so I could renew my registration that same day. clean place and I would go back when I need another smog or recommend it to others. not sure if it’s a good deal as I had not had to take a car to get smogged in over 6 years, don’t remember the price but it seemed pretty average.

If your car is older than 2010 don’t take it here. These guys have no idea what they are doing. Watched 2 employees try to figure out how to open my engine hood for 5 minutes and when I went out there to ask if he had it figured out he yelled at me to go back inside and wait. Then watched them take panels of my car that did not need to be removed for a smog check? I watched them struggle for half an hour Only for them to fail for burning oil which no other smog place had a problem with.

These guys are normally really good and really fast. However, when I took my ford here to get it smog checked the technician didn’t do his job correctly and caused me to miss 2 hours of work to come in this morning. I do drive out of my way to go to this Smog Check location because they are usually quick and thorough. (I was just here a few days ago for my Toyota Echo which was awesome, it took only 15 minutes).
Story: I had to replace the hood on this vehical. I found one from pick and pull and the old car must have had a 4.6L V8. My Ford has a 4.0L V6. I did this about 8 months ago. The check engine light came on a few weeks ago and the code said I need a new Catalytic converter. I took it to a shop in Citrus Heights where they did an awesome job.
Upon seeing the information on the invalid hood’s sticker, the technician told me I had to take it back to the shop and have them put the right Catalytic converter on the truck. I told the technician it was a 4.0L V6 not a 4.6L. He didn’t believe me, and he would not check the VIN or the top of the Intake Manifold, both proving the engine falls in the 4.0L V6 engine family, which the Catalytic converter was made for. The intake manifold in huge engraved print says 4.0L.
I was told to go to Ford and request a new Emissions label for my hood. I called them and was informed it was unlikely to have a sticker from that far back (2003) but they would get back to me. The earliest I could get the sticker if it still exists is by mid December, and it would cost $ 29.99 plus tax and shipping. I have received no response from Ford.
I scraped the sticker off the hood and took the truck back in. They tested it again, and it passed again, and this time the technician had to look up the vehicles information. What do you know, they found it it is actually a 4.0L V6. I confronted the technitian telling him he wasted my time and could have done this Wednesday.
The fact is, he either didn’t know he could look up the VIN, or didn’t want to. I assume it was the latter. Section 1.3.1 of his own manual
states that the technitian is to use the label under the hood, but is required also to use all available resources to determine the engine type.
This technician, i think out of laziness, did not check this and caused me to lose two hours of work.
SmogNGo in Rocklin CA is a great company, but if they continue to hire individuals like this who will not take time to resolve a customers justified concern, they will lose business.

Horrible. These guys are a bunch of hacks. Failed my car because they said it had the wrong catalytic converter on it. Wrong!!! Took some where else… it passed. Bunch of paste eating morons working there. This is the second bad experience I’ve had there. No more!

Smog and got me in and out within 12 minutes. They also do all the DMV paperwork for renewals which saves me a trip and a long wait. The gentleman that worked on my truck was very polite and explained everything to me in great detail. This was definitely an awesome experience for me from my previous smog checks.
The great atmosphere at the shop was also a big plus. The guys were joking with each other it looked like they were happy to be at work and loved what they were doing. This to me is very important knowing that the people doing work on my vehicle are enjoying it. You know that experience when you hire someone to do something for you and then you get the cold shoulder from them as if they are upset you called. Well not these guys, they were very polite and a pleasure working with.
I will be back and I will be recommending this place to all my friends. Thanks Smog and Go
