Selah Salon & Day Spa

Zero stars if Unilocal would let me!!! I have been getting my nails done by a well qualified professional manicurist @ iNails & Spa in Sacramento for over a year and I see her regularly every two weeks. I decided to go along with my friend on 6÷20÷16 to Selah because she wanted a new set and I needed to fix a nail that had broken this morning. I decided to just go for a fill so that the color would match all my nails. The lady who started working on my nails (her name started with a «P» and sounded like ‘Pearl’ maybe?) was either heavy handed or using a very rough filing tip because my nails burned and she kept pinching my skin with the filing drill. I told her it was hurting me and she proceeded to tell me it was because my nails were done wrong and that they were too thin and my nail lady sucks and I have FUNGUS and that’s why it hurts. Fungus? Really? I thanked her for her opinion and told her I would pay her for her time but that I was going to go back to my nail lady who doesn’t hurt me and doesn’t make me feel like shit about my nails and would tell me if I had fungus!!!
She charged me $ 10 which I didn’t hesitate to pay even though I should have given the terrible customer service and it being my first time there. As I waited for my friend to finish her brand new set, this lady kept saying how everyone in Sacramento uses bad products and again how I need a new nail lady and that my nails were going to fall off lol! I could have respected her professional opinion if she voiced it nicely and without judgement about where I go to get my nails done which by the way is good quality and uses OPI products. I couldn’t take any more of this biased lady so I waited outside.
Flash forward several hours and I was able to see my manicurist who couldn’t believe the the state of my nails that the lady at Selah had left them. They were filed down horribly and chipped on the edges. She assured me I had no fungus whatsoever and that as my manicurist it would be her priority to tell me if something was wrong with my nails. She removed the mess the Selah lady had left and I decided to give my nails a breather for a week since they were still sore from Selah’s manicurist.
I’ve included pictures from the set I walked in with which I got done by my PROFESSIONAL manicurist with excellent customer service to what I walked out with from Selah because I couldn’t take the pain or the unnecessary judgement, to what my nails look like after my manicurist removed the artificial nails. You’ll notice something is missing… yup, the invisible fungus.
Last note on my well entitled rant, if you’re such a professional, you should be able to work with the base of someone else’s set and be able to do a simple fill for your client without hurting them and without making them feel horrible and judged. I get my nails done often enough since 2012 to know its not supposed to be extremely painful. Will never be back and I definitely learned my lesson to stick with what I know and love!

By far THE BEST nail salon I’ve been to in 20 years. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The owner’s are Pearl and her husband Tommie. They are actually located within Selah Salon– but separated into a private area. The other lovely woman working with them is Crystal. They are warm, professional (such as not answering phone calls while working with a client) and completely attentive. I’ve been treated each time like a guest at the Four Seasons. They offer coffee, tea (served in a china cup and saucer), and water.
The work is flawless, and they aim to please.

Each time you come they treat you like family. They’re kind, sweet, attentive, & they cater to your every need. They use fresh flowers, & hot stones for pedicures. While being serviced they bring you seasonal teas. It’s like being at a tea room & spa at the same time. Their facility & equipment is clean & they’re very sanitary. I have been coming here over 1 year. I started after a Groupon & the service was so superb I never stopped. I bring all of my friends & family. You should too they will love it. This is the best place around for mani pedis

Please! Take down all pics you taken from people page, don’t post people art or work then write your name under if not belong to you! I know you for sure and know where you’re learning. If you want to be good nail technician or professional, please! Don’t do «dirty» or be «Loser» like this. You should to be honestly if you wanna your business going better. You can learn or creating but not copy pic from someone page and post your name under its.

Han and Pearl took amazing care of me! I came in to remove and redo my acrylic nails I had no idea what to do next. They were very patient while I chose my color, style and a design. I would definitely come back because these ladies were sooo nice and took the time to make sure I was 100% satisfied.

I called this salon late one afternoon hoping to get an appointment after a long work day — Han was so sweet and accomodating and said no problem and they squeezed me in. After doing pink & whites for over 15 years I decided to try acrylic tips and gel thanks to Han’s suggestion. Fantastic choice! Nails no longer chip, they’re super strong for typing 24/​7, and I love the array of gel colors they offer too. Han, Crystal and their staff really do enjoy pampering their guests, they offer tea or water, and often have little chocolates to munch on too. You’ll leave feeling like a Princess, without having to pay royal prices.

I wrote a review when I first started coming here and I still feel the same. This place is amazing still, they’re so consistent with their work and they treat you so well. Han is so sweet, she still always remembers my name and whenever my sister in law isn’t with me, she asks about her and asks me to tell her hi. So friendly and attentive. Peter and Diane usually do my nails and they are both awesome! They’re both very detail oriented and they take their time to make your nails perfect! I love that about them. Never disappointed :)

I went here after looking at tons of nail salons in the area, this salon by far had the best and most positive reviews so I decided to try it out. Han was so sweet and nice, very accommodating, she was able to get me in right away. Her staff was also so friendly and nice, they did such a good, detailed job. I got gel on both my toes and hands, they made sure I was happy with the shape of my nails and the shape of the tips I got painted. Han is hands on and made sure I was comfortable the whole time, I had tea in a proper tea cup and chocolates. It was overall such a nice experience, I am really looking forward to going back!

I came here and had Shelby Campbell cut my hair and give me highlights. She did a really good job and ive received many compliments from my new do. She was very kind and professional, i highly reccomend her:)

I saw my favorite stylist, Holly, today. She spent a huge amount of time on my hair, and did a fabulous job! I decided to try out the new ombré that has been plastered all over Pinterest, and she did such a fantastic job. It looks beautiful! I will continue to make the long drive from my new place out to Rocklin because I get such great treatment and care that I would never go anywhere else. I am posting a picture of it so you can decide what you think.

We ended up here because we drove by it on our way to another salon that turned out to be closed, and it was wonderful! We showed up about 30 minutes before closing and they said they’d take us anyway and were super nice and my girlfriend and I each got a $ 30 pedicure that lasted 2 hours! I’m sure if we’d mentioned being on a time budget things would have gone a little faster, but we certainly weren’t complaining about spending our date night lounging in massage chairs with chocolates and tea.
We had Peter and Han doing our pedicures and they were so accommodating! Peter was particularly meticulous and made my toenails look better than they ever had in my life (my toenails are usually freaky looking and flaky). They have a huge selection of colors and really do a great job.

The salon deserves five stars, the rest, minimal. My friend and I were walk ins for a nail appointment. They weren’t busy, and so they took us right away. They said they could do us both at the same time, which made sense considering it was near empty. One lady was working on my friend while I sat at the next station waiting for half an hour. Another employee was sitting around, so I finally asked if she could please get started on me and she said soon then disappeared. My friend was unhappy with the finished product of her nails, and asked if they could touch them up. The lady doing hers told her they were fine. What happened to the customer is always right? $ 40 and one hour later my friend got a manicure she was unhappy with, and I left with never being helped.

HAIR: Alicia Sheeders is awesome! I have gone to less experienced stylists before because I was trying to save on money, but honestly, you really get what you pay for. I often feel nervous when people cut or color my hair and have had some really mediocre outcomes with weird layers or a funky highlight. But with Alicia, I have complete confidence and can just sit back and trust that she will make my hair look great. She does the color weave so well, and there are never ever any weird spots in my hair. Even though I have roots that grow out, people still ask my if my hair is naturally blonde. Her work is so great and I would trust her to do anything to my hair. Which is what you want in your hair stylist!
NAILS: I do not get my nails done very frequently, but I love Han! She really takes the time to get to know her customers and make them feel welcome and want to come back. I have not experienced customer service like her’s at any other nail salon. She does a really great job on nails. And the eyebrows waxes are great– they really take their time to do it well.

I asked for short layers and 5 minutes later ½ my hair was chopped off with no layers. I’m not exaggerating!
I asked for ombré, I left with brassy hair and bleeding colors that I could only notice once I got home.
The «stylist» didn’t even know how to blow dry my hair with a round brush for God’s sake!!!
I’m not going to mention her name because she was very nice but unfortunately she’s clueless!

I absolutely love coming here and Han is so sweet and always able to fit me in even if it’s last minute. The staff working here is very nice and takes their time to make sure you love your nails. I never feel rushed, and always feel like a valued customer. My nails always look beautiful when I leave and the prices can’t be beat! The inside of the salon is very cute and relaxing. Even though there are other nail salons closer to where I live, I always make the drive to Selah because the quality and customer service makes it worth it

Han was very nice. I scheduled an appointment last minute and she was able to fit me right in. My mom and I were seated in a nice quiet room where we just got some relaxing time. The ladies were very nice and polite. They didn’t talk constantly in front of us making it uncomfortable like some places do. I’ve came here before and they always greet you with coffee or tea, and chocolate. For my upcoming wedding I will be renting out the rooms. The salon is very organized and the decorations are very modernized. If you need a place to go with your friends this is defiantly it. I’m sure Han would give you a quiet room for you and your friends to talk away.

I love this nail salon! I have lived in Loomis for 12 years and have been to every nail salon within 10 miles. I have never been to a nail salon as clean, sanitary and does the best pedicures and gel manicures! Love the staff, always feel pampered and feel like I’m in a high end spa but not paying high end prices!

I have to say I have never been treated so well by any nail salon. Everyone I met was so kind and friendly. I get pedicures very often and I have never been so pleased with not only the price but the staff as well. The woman that work at this nail salon are all so kind and sweet. I couldn’t believe it. I was greeted with chocolates and tea. I received incredible customer service. There are many nail salons near my house but I will definitely be making the trip to Rocklin again just to come here. It was such a wonderful experience. I can not wait to come back!

It was difficult to decide whether to rate this salon 2 or 3 stars. My experience definitely had its pros and cons. To start, I purchased their luxury mani-​pedi Groupon deal. Great price for the services. I also paid an additional $ 10 to get a gel polish on my fingernails. When I called to make an appointment Han was incredibly polite and friendly and squeezed me in last minute, which was greatly appreciated. When I arrived I was greeted by Han herself and she helped me to choose a polish color and showed me to the pedi room, where she brought me water and a plate of candy. The massage chairs were comfortable and adjustable.
Manicure — I had my mani and pedi done at the same time. Some people enjoy this, but I actually prefer to get one done at a time. My manicure was pleasant. The woman doing my mani was very thorough and gave a great massage. The scented lotions and warm towels were very relaxing. She also did a great job applying my polish without mistake.
Pedicure — This was not as pleasant as the mani. Firstly, this service was supposed to include a hot stone massage, but apparently they ran out of sanitized stones. Yes, it is nice that they would rather not use the stones than use dirty ones, BUT the hot stones are why I purchased this Groupon. Secondly, the hot wax put on my feet was much too hot. I was actually worried that there would be burn marks. Lastly, and most importantly, when I felt a sting I looked down and noticed the technician was cutting down along my big toe with the cuticle clipper. When she noticed I was in pain she informed me that she had to do that because I had an ingrown toenail. I find this hard to believe because I felt no discomfort from that toe until she cut my skin. In addition, my toe is now infected, swollen and pussing. Definitely not ok.
To conclude, the staff is friendly and polite. However, the services were if-​y. I enjoyed the quality of my mani, but not my pedi. I should have received a discount or credit for the service not including the advertised hot stones and definitely for the infected toe I now how to deal with.
