Excellent products and customer service!!! Big difference from the big box stores. Bravo Second Cycle!

My wife and I needed a washer quick, and found out about Second City Appliance via Craigslist, and Unilocal’s reviews helped steer us there. We found a small selection of specific types of washers and Cameron answered a lot of technical questions with details that were good for me. (I’ve repaired my own appliances in the past.) His friendly demeanor, command of details and great prices sealed the deal.
Unbeknownst to me, my wife was ogling a side by side refrigerator, and Cameron answered her questions, and then later, mine. So we’re proud owners of a refrigerator too! (great price!)
End of story? NO!
Cameron delivered them the next day, and before he came, I realized I had forgotten to buy a few washers for my hoses, and because of the orientation of the washer door, we’d want to swap the position of the washer (previous model was a top loader) and the dryer. I didn’t have a gas line long enough either. And Cameron delivered! He had the parts needed for me to make the swap. He helped me push the large side by side into the garage instead of leaving it out in the rain and explained a few details relating to hose routing through a door hinge, and showed me how to disconnect a tricky «chinese finger trap» type of connector.
He hauled away the old appliance for free. (it was probably 30 years old, bad transmission and was not going to be repaired due to expense.)
He said if I had any problems to call him on his cell phone number, and that he’d be back in the neighborhood in a half hour to help an older woman with her recent purchase, as she had been confused on the sizing/​type of her plug, and he was going back to the shop to get a part for her.
Cameron’s service, knowledge, free warranty (awesome deal!), free drop off and pick up, kindness and service (high work ethic!) is to be commended and it’s proprietors like this who deserve to have their great service applauded and made known to others.
Oh, one other thing I want to mention… I got a discount on the fridge because I was there intending to buy the washer only. The side-​by-​side unit I got was a REALLY nice unit. He happened to mention that in the day between I purchased it and had it delivered, he had a number of people attempt to offer him extra money to get that fridge, and he held to our lower purchase price.
That shows honesty and integrity, and that alone is worth mentioning too! It’s too easy for people to try to bribe others to get what they want, and there are too many willing participants in that game. And while I didn’t need to have a refrigerator (it was more of an impulse purchase), and it wouldn’t have been a big «loss» to have not had it, the fact that he stood firm and honored his commitment to my wife and I says a LOT about his character. That integrity and honesty leads to the type of warranty that he offers, so let me speak to that…
The used appliances are sold, and there are the typical disclaimers about not being returned (for instance, if the refrigerator sizing is too large for your space (that kind of return is avoidable with due diligence by the owner, which is where that responsibility truly lies)).
The small wording at the bottom also says he has a 30 day parts and labor warranty, and after that a labor warranty (you pay for the parts, and he does the labor… free!).
Those honesty and integrity character traits lead him to offer such a warranty.
And it also says something else… the quality of your used appliance will be good!
Why? Because it would cost him too much to have to repair crummy appliances with a warranty like that. I know, because I’ve repaired my own appliances in the past, and felt my own appliance could be fixed up and resold, but he said it wasn’t worth it. Puzzled, I asked why, as he might have been able to find a transmission cheaply for my old unit, which was otherwise rock solid for a 30 year old machine. And he said his warranty structure would have been too expensive if other parts had started to fail.
So, that tells me that the quality of his appliances HAVE to be good to be able to offer a warranty like that!
I HIGHLY recommend Second Cycle Appliance for the great price and high quality of their products (and free warranty too!), free drop off and pickup of old units, and even more-​so for the knowledge, work ethic, honesty and integrity of the owners and employees there! That’s worth a lot right there in today’s world when crummy products are often foisted on the public.
Second Cycle Appliance is a refreshing alternative that is well worth supporting!

Update:
We had to have two repairs to the fridge. A leaking gasket in the icemaker door led to excessive frost build-​up, and an intermittent fan between the freezer (cold) /​fridge (warm) sections.
Cameron honored his warranty!

I knew ahead of time we were likely to purchase something from them but little did we know how helpful they’d be. They took my old, defunct washer/​dryer and delivered the new one. While I was not necessarily pleased with the timeframe for delivery and especially that it was later than discussed they were vocal and advised us of the delay. I’m glad they were willing to work with us and our entry ways. I really like these guys and we will likely come back to replace our entire kitchen.
More importantly — they suggested a ton of amazing eateries which bring me almost as much joy as the clean clothes I now have.

I moved to Roseville recently and was in a rush to get a washer, dryer and refrigerator for my new home. We didn’t know that you’re supposed to schedule an appointment for weekdays and just walked in on a Friday afternoon. The guys happened to be available and were extremely helpful despite us not having called ahead. The man who helped us was super knowledgable, very honest and not at all pushy.
We got exactly what we were looking for, all for a price that cannot be beat! The appliances were all clean, well maintained, and come with great warranties.
We didn’t know quite what we needed so we left without ducting (I think that’s what it’s called) and a waterline. When I called to ask about what we needed to go buy, they told me to come back in and they’d give me what I needed (houses usually have those parts already so they didn’t know I needed them and I had no clue about anything). When we came back they helped us immediately and got us exactly what we needed. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Went here to find a used washing machine. The service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the product. Will defiantly shop here again and recommend to everybody. Thank you for the good experience.

My wife and I stopped into Second Cycle after our electric dryer quit. We saw their ad on Craigslist. When we arrived Cameron and Andy were out front, Cameron asked what I was looking for and then told me he was sold out! These guys are that busy! He then asked what was wrong with mine. I told him I thought the motor was shot and he asked if it made a humming noise. I said yes and my wife chimed in that she had left the lint filter out of the dryer and turned it on, stopped it and restarted it. It was at that point he said «I’ll bet you a hundred dollars you have something jammed in in the motor, I wouldnt feel right selling you a new unit with an easy fix like that.»
Sure enough I went home took it apart and it was jammed. I extracted the clothing and voila it’s now working fine. I really appreciate honest business people. When I do need an appliance these guys are going to be my first call.

So we purchased a used recycled washer from Cameron at Second Cycle on a Saturday afternoon. He had a pretty good selection, I had called and spoke to him earlier in the day and told him I would be coming by.
We had a bad experience a few days prior to finding out about Second Cycle purchasing a used washer from an individual on Craigslist, that did not go well at all.
We drove to Rocklin and got quite an education from Cameron in regards to top brands, washer assembly, reliability etc. Spoke a little about his family his business and felt very comfortable with our purchase.
We got home and later in the evening decided to do some laundry to try out our purchase. Everything worked well however I noticed a small problem, the agitator did not seem to operate as well as I thought it should. I called back and spoke to Cameron explained to him what I noticed and thought the problem might be. He said no problem he could be to my home first thing Monday morning. Sure enough there he was just after 10am with the parts needed to correct the problem.
I understand it is a used machine and sometimes something used may have a bug in it even if it has been reconditioned. Had I purchased a new one I would expect it to be perfect. Cameron’s word regarding their 30 day in home warranty was exactly that, he did not complain or whine, he took responsibility and immediately came out and corrected the problem with a smile.
Personally being in the service business myself he handled the situation exactly the same way I would have. Second Cycle has a strong recommendation from me I would refer them to anyone looking for a good used recycled appliance.

I found Second Cycle on Craigslist, and checked them out on Unilocal before deciding to go with them. Both individuals I dealt with (gentlemen at the shop), and gentlemen that delivered (Cameron I believe) were courteous, and professional.
While at the shop I requested, and was directed to some of the newest merchandise on the floor. Let’s face it — its a second hand appliance unit, no one wants a clunker! Prices were reasonable, and when you factor in fairly cheap delivery and hookup costs, the highest end washer dryer combo they offer will cost you around $ 500 (units, delivery, tax) vs the cheapest washer dryer combo you would get at Sears at around $ 850 or more ($ 700 for unit, tax, delivery).
The real test is how long this baby lasts, and what repairs would cost me, etc. Ahh, the great unknown! And, tied to that, is that it’s not apparent how old these units are — since the model number won’t necessarily reveal that info. So, you have to go by the eyeball test.
All in all, they did a great job — couldn’t ask for anything more. from them Just hope this thing lasts, and I get my money’s worth — because let’s face it, it’s not a cheap appliance if it has to be replaced!

The guys working there gave me a honest advice which was very nice. They were understanding my need of a fridge and were able to deliver the same day! Also with no problem or extra charge they took my 15 years old refrigerator. I am very satisfied with the service and the product.

If you are looking for a large appliance, don’t go Craigslist, visit this place! We were looking for an extra fridge for the garage and I pored through Craigslist for days without finding anything I was comfortable with, especially knowing that I couldn’t really trust the condition of anything I found on Craigslist.
Then we happened upon Second Cycle because they were giving out free snow cones during the old car festival on Pacific, and I talked to the owner, Cameron. He was super cool, explained his process, and we discussed fridges for a bit. He had a great selection to choose from, ranging from old-​school to super nice, so that we could spend only what we were comfortable with.
They have a 30-​day parts and labor warranty which you will not get on Craigslist, and free labor for anything after that. Plus they deliver which is super nice for people like me without a truck. He just delivered the fridge we bought and got it set up in the garage. It is an excellent fridge for a really great deal; we are super excited.

We researched places to purchase a dryer and came across Second Cycle. We are committed to the environment so this business model made sense to us.
We dropped into the store (they are by appointment only on weekdays however they were there & let us in:))). We found a dryer for a reasonable price.
We were able to pay and schedule a delivery the same week.
Today they brought the dryer and kindly installed the dryer for us.
They also took away our old dryer.
The whole experience was seamless. We look forward to using the new dryer and We are sure we will have no problems.

I had washer problems this week. I loaded the washer up and took it to Second Cycle, they fixed it for me and then delivered it to my house. This business is very professional, goes out of their way to provide service, and I highly recommend them!!! Thank you for taking care of my family!

Thats what we said when we walked in with my family to grandmas house in a surprise christmas visit to cali. She had tears in her eyes when she saw us but was smiling when she saw her washer and dryer gift :)))
So…We went to many other used appliance stores in the Sacramento and ended coming to these guys. There appliances were cleaner then the rest and just overall better taken care of. They made me a great deal and even delivered the next day can’t beat that Home Depot told us it would be 14 – 16 days for delivery.
Only problem was that they didnt have the model we wanted and said it would arrive the next day because it was over selling. So we had to go with something a bit on the cheaper side. $ 249 for a washer and dryer isnt that bad i guess. lol couldnt think of a better gift for grand ma. She isnt much of a galaxy s4 or iphone girl :)))

I went to 5 other appliances places before this one and I am so glad I made the effort to go to «one more.» It had been a long and discouraging morning trying to find a refrigerator and washer/​dryer for my new home.
Second Cycle has top quality products and good prices, and the best part is their service. The guy that owns the place is great. He get what it takes to run a small business. Going there was like a breath of fresh air compared to the other used appliances stores.

Note: there location is small compared to some of the other places out there, but don’t let that discourage you! Should I need another used appliance in the future before shopping any where else, I would frequent this place a few times over until they got in what I wanted.
