Out of Bounds Brewing Company

Husband and I came here on Sunday afternoon to take advantage of a Groupon we’d purchased ($ 15 got us: 1 factory tour, 1 Tasting Wheel of 12 beers, and 2 bottles of our favorite beer to take home).
The tour was a bit boring in my opinion, but that’s mostly just because it’s not an interest of mine to see how beer is brewed. My husband highly enjoyed it and was actively engaged in asking questions.
After the tour, we got our tasting wheel and the fun began! It worked out quite nice that my husband and I favored different beers that were on the wheel, he was liking the crisper more refreshing floral/​fruity beers and I was liking the porters/​stouts. It was DEFINITELY more than enough beer to be shared between 2 people.
So we could keep ourselves from being a bit loopy, we also went out and ordered some fries from the food truck (it was a decent pile of seasoned fries with some white sauce drizzled on top for $ 5).
While we drank we took advantage of playing some table tennis and fooseball. It was very fun! It was such a relaxing and chill environment, it made for a really nice lazy afternoon.
We even saw another family come in with their grandmother and a young kid. It’s nice that a place like this can be multi-​generational friendly :)

OOB has surpassed other locations with such a tightly unique environment. The ONLY thing that would make this 5 stars is an outdoor deck with an amazing view of the sunset to match today’s musical taste and soundtrack.
Worth the visit!

I come here occasionally for growler Thursday’s and it’s amazing. I always get great service and I always run into good people. Most are just other beer lovers taking advantage of a solid deal. The inside is really nice. I like the high ceilings and big wooden tables. In the back they have a few a games and the occasional food truck drop in. My favorite beer currently is the regicide. Strong and good. Their grapefruit IPA is also a favorite. I wish they had food but maybe next go around. Cheers to good service and good beer.

1^st time here, mike is great who works here and the restaurant is very clean and the staff is nice and the beer menu for beer is amazing and my husband and I will definitely be coming back for sure it’s well worth coming here and I highly recommend coming here. Always great beers

Ok. This is way overdue. I have been coming to OOB since the soft open and opening day. Things have changed and so has the staff but it is still great. Yes I miss some of the old staff but hopefully they are all doing well. OOB is my local. I enjoy the beer and the company. The location is great and the facility is top notch.
There is a great selection of ales, stouts, porters, Belgium styles as well as experimentals. I don’t like everything they brew but that is subjective of course. I just don’t really like the grapefruit. Everyone else does.
I like the seasonals like the dry hop, Relentless Red, Hurley Burly, as well as others I can’t think of at the moment. «The Brob» or Brobdingnagan is my standby. Lately my friend Spencer and I created a blend of «the Brob» and «the Mistress» which we call a «Royal Piper». Great half and half! Ask Piper to pour you one. Very refreshing! They don’t have a kitchen but they almost always have a food truck with great foods.

Walking into Out of Bounds, I got a kinda nostalgic like feeling. Reclaimed wood makes up much of the environment giving a rustic look. The bar was shiny and the tap system prominent with a sign that was clear. Staff greeted us upon entering which is always a huge plus. Ordered a sampler of all of their 12 beers on tap. The staff poured the beer quickly, and explained the sampler wheel.
On to the BEER. I really enjoyed the Grapefruit IPA, the Vanilla Porter, the Oak aged Stout, and was pleasantly surprised to be enjoying their Strawberry Blonde. These guys know what they’re doing and they’re doing it well. If you’re ever in Rocklin check them out.

Great Beers, Great staff and a really nice place to hang out. Comfy leather chairs. a huge community table and a nice little bar. I went on a slow day with was great because the staff was nice enough to take the time to explain all their different beers since I had never been in before. Their Ultimatum is one of my absolute favorites. If you haven’t heard of this brewery yet I’m sure you will soon!

Out of Bounds Brewing Company in sleepy Rocklin, California is truly out of bounds and worth of the full five stars. This place really sets the bar for modern breweries in the region. I have watched them grow over the years through distribution and awards, but their taproom tucked away off Pacific on Yankee Hill Road still is one of the best in Sacramento, if not in Northern California.
Most breweries have the bare bones industrial look down, but Out of Bounds turned an otherwise soulless business park location into the feel of a mountain cabin with beautiful wood and metal decorations. Seating is plentiful with several large tables and a large bar. They have lots of televisions and a large projection screen for the big game and my favorite leather chairs against the wall. Their back brewing area has games and more seating for those yearning for the industrial look.
And they sell beer. Very good beer. I am glad to see the region coming down from its IPA-​obsessed peak with breweries putting out more traditional and subtly flavored options. Out of Bounds has always done well in this field with several main brews and lots of seasonal options. They have a fun sampler wheel with 12 tasters. At 60 ounces of beer, you really need to share this one with the crew. On a cold and rainy day, sipping a Vanilla Porter in a leather arm chair watching basketball was pretty great.
Out of Bounds is not only a great option for Placer County, this place is a true destination for beer lovers. It is relatively close to Interstate 80, but the combination of excellent beer and a excellent environment easily justifies the trip.

Just visited this place yesterday with my husband and I loved it! Staff was super friendly, nice & quick to help. Probably found my FAVORITE grapefruit beer here — it’s a double IPA I believe, it is absolutely amazing. Also had their vanilla porter which was great.
$ 10 growlers on Thursdays too! Will definitely be in again soon

Oh man! let me tell you about some good beer! Out of bounds has 12 beers to sample and I really liked 10 of them! if you are looking for a location that has a wide selection of great beer then look no further. The grapefruit IPA is a stand out but doesn’t steal the show because it’s brothers and sisters are right behind it!
Food truck selection is a little lacking but it’s one of the bigger breweries I’ve been to in sac with ping pong and corn hole available in the back. Staff is also very friend and knows their beer.
Get out to this brewery and have yourself a great time.

I’ve been here on separate occasions with the same group of friends, and we always enjoy ourselves. Located in a development that might as well be modern warehouses, parking is plentiful in the back, and the inside is always welcoming. As soon as you walk in, the bar is directly in front of you and the options/​descriptions (13ish last I was there) are above on a chalkboard.
The beers are $ 5, the beertenders are friendly and definitely love their crafts, and with the giant mead-​hall table, there’s always room for our group of 4 – 6 without having to stalk other groups for their seats.
If it’s not trivia night, we bring card games. If we’re not playing them, we’re conversing because it’s not a roar of sound in the deceptively large space. We’ve never gone inside the glassed-​off room, though I eyeball the board games kept in there, but it’s simply a lot more fun to share the mead-​hall table with strangers on either side. Last time, we did venture out into the freezing garage/​brewery area, where there is corn hole, ping-​pong, smaller tables, and occasionally a «food truck» aka a guy under a tent with several steaming double boilers full of hot dogs, nacho fixings, etc.
Quality, price, and ambiance are what keep me coming back. All Out of Bounds needs is consistent food options, or even a kitchen (though they do say you are welcome to bring your own food in).

Updating review to four stars for service and quality. I’ve returned several times for their $ 10 growler Thursdays and am satisfied with their brews. I just picked up a growler of their Vanilla Stout, which is good. The funny-​aftertaste present in my original tasting is no longer present, which is good. The bartenders are friendly and quick to offer their two-​cents or answer my questions. I never have to wait long and there’s always a good crowd.
I’ll keep coming back for the $ 10 refills! Thanks!

We stopped in after buying a Groupon to give it a try. $ 20 for a flight of 12 tasters for 2. We don’t like IPAS so they double up the board. The stout and porter were our favorites. Super busy place, loved sitting with the tanks in the back. There is a corn hole game and ping pong table, also just outside the roll up door a food truck. Also included with the Groupon were two 22oz bottles… we chose the stout. They gave us a bunch of stickers. We will definitely return on our way through Sacramento.

Like many others, we took advantage of a Livingsocial deal. Best idea lately.
You walk in and the bartenders are friendly, the vibe is laid back and mellow (Wed night).
The front area is spacious and clean with plenty of seating both around the bar and other areas. I would have been perfectly happy hanging out there all night but then we were made aware of the back half where the brewing takes place.
Rewind a bit to the first steps, the bar tender (assistant brewer, if I understood correctly) was super friendly and on the tour he flexed his brew knowledge and impressed us all. If I had a single bone to pick it was that there were not many 22’s available for take home to choose from, which was part of the Livingsocial deal. That DIPA was heaven and I wish we could have reminisced with it at home. Oh well.
The icing on the cake, or should I say the head on the beer was the punk music playing all night. They had me at streaming Pandora punk station. I hope this brewery continues to thrive, they deserve it.

Cool brewery. Great atmosphere and everyone is friendly. They even have food trucks that come out and serve food in the back. They also have a sitting area where they have games to play.
People did have their kids there but I wouldn’t recommend it.
The staff is friendly. We did the groupon for the tasting wheel. Good way to try all the beers. The staff is also great at explaining all their beers if you are not familiar. I would definitely go back.

I’d like to preface this review by stating that I’m not a beer person and I know nothing about beer. However, some friends thought it would be fun to go beer tasting. There was a good Groupon for tasting for 2.
This place is very casual and great for just hanging out or watching a game. They have a small bar where the beer is on tap, a good amount of seating, and a private room for parties. We each did a wheel which was about 12 different beers. All of them were unique and interesting. However, I still don’t really like beer but it was a good experience!
I would totally recommend this place for people who like beer!

We decided to check out Out of Bounds Brewing Company because we found a Groupon for a tasting flight, brewery tour and two 22 oz bottle to take home. I thought that was a pretty good deal for $ 20 and I love checking out new local breweries.
The beertender was very friendly and seemed to know a lot about the beer. The tasting flight came on a lazy suzan which was pretty cool!
We loved almost all of the beer here and decided to take home a 22 of the Elevation and the Bad Ass Bitter.
Another great thing about this small brewery is that they have a private room up front. Because we had so much fun here tasting beer and learning about the brewery we decided to book them for an engagement party for a friend! I am very excited to have our friends try one of our new favorite local breweries!

Located near the old downtown Rocklin. I have seen plenty of advertising push between Costco, Groupon, Living Social, local community events and the likes. I came in because I purchased a Living Social Brewery Tour, two flights of ten crafted brews and two take home 22 oz bottles.
The staff greeted us promptly and got us started to the tasting while explaining where the tour would be conducted. You probably could get the tour without the special. The tour is offered on specific days and times. The tour itself was more of an educational session on beer making process.
Beer flight is intended for two people. I am a drinker. One flight is 10 4 ounce glasses. I shared my flight and it was plenty. Fortunately we lucked out catching the latest tour offered. The staff will offer the trade off for two beers for one flight. You lose some volume but gain portability to take home. Selections in take home bottles vary. The day we came in there was only 4 choices.
There is definitely a beer for most drinkers. Light ales to dark stouts. Unique flavors also offered. From hoppy to smooth to chocolate.
We enjoyed the overall experience. Staff was friendly and attentive to the people floating through for beverages. I would come back.

Beautiful space with lots of rustic wood, really nice and helpful employees, huge back room with games galore, awesome sausage cart out back, tasty beers with hops and hops and hops for days.
It’s in a totally off-​the-​path location on the skirts of Rocklin off Pacific, but it’s quiet and reminds me of home in Loomis!
