OMG! Yogurt

Have you ever gone to a liquor or small grocery store and the owner follows you around to see if you’re gonna steal something? If you have and you know that awful feeling, then this OMG! Yogurt will give you just that. We decided to come here after dinner at Bedda Pizzeria. The owner/​manager followed us around the whole time and looking at us like we’re going to steal some yogurt or toppings. It’s really awkward, but hey I understand.
We go to ring up and pay and the first thing that comes out of her mouth was «did you guys eat this yogurt or the toppings?» I was quite shocked and thought «what the?» I simply answered her no and then she went on a rant and said «I saw that you had a tip to the yogurt and now it’s flat. Did you pack it down? Because you have to pay before you eat anything.»
Wow. Is that really a thing now? Do people really eat insane amounts of yogurt and toppings to the point that you’re bleeding money? Or is it your insanely poor customer and people skills that give you the awful Unilocal reviews? There are no spoons at the self-​serve yogurt area. How the hell is anyone going to eat yogurt in the cup? Throw it on our face? And besides, you were following us around the whole time we were there. Whatthe?
I’ve seen some pretty bat$hit crazy restaurant owners before, and here’s another one to add to the list. I wished they made a show on FoodChannel to help people who have no customer service or business skills on how to run a business. You would give them 24 hours and make them read a book called «Common Sense.» But I can’t lay blame here because I should have checked the Unilocal reviews first before I came in. You live and learn. That’s $ 6 and 20 minutes of undue stress that I could live without.

A few years ago, I would’ve ranked them 5 stars but they’ve started to slip the last year. They changed their candy options and they don’t seem to have the same variety of flavors and toppings as they once had.

This place is delicious!!! Not to mention a very nice staff that is more than helpful.

The gal working tonight was on point, she takes pride in her job and made sure everything was where it needed to be and that everyone was helped. The red velvet flavor was bomb! My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 would be the décor. The green paint is a little over the top and the picnic tables inside are eh.

First and foremost, this review has absolutely nothing to do with the product itself, but it has everything to do with the employees that were working there and the owner. I went in with a couple coworkers after lunch (quite honestly, we only went in because we realized the Vampire Penguin location a few doors down hasn’t opened yet). The first thing we heard was an employee scolding a woman for letting her daughter put sprinkles on her cone (you don’t get toppings on cones, guys; even ones that cost less than a penny, so heads up). To be fair, the employee did her job by enforcing the rules, which is totally ok. What was NOT ok, was her sitting down at one of the picnic tables the entire time as if she was a customer. The only time she even got up, was when we inquired about the dates written on the pints that they sell. She got very defensive and adamantly told us that their yogurt never expires. I will admit, I am no frozen yogurt expert, but you should probably swap out your 4-​week-​old pints of yogurt for some fresher ones if you want to make a sale. We walked out.
So why am I writing this review? I honestly couldn’t care less about anything that happened during my brief visit. But after reading some of the reviews on here, I noticed that the owner has been leaving comments completely dismissing bad reviews and, at times, blaming the customer themselves for whatever issue they had. In what world would a business owner think that’s the proper way to treat patrons and get them to come back? I have been working in public relations for 7 years, and this place just boggles my mind. You can’t provide a decent experience for your customers, and when they try to voice their opinion on what could’ve made it better, you can’t even accept their feedback or own up to any of it? Even worse, you speak to them in such a condescending manner that you’re making it pretty clear that you don’t even want their business anyways. I don’t foresee this business staying open for much longer, but until then, I would avoid at all cost.

I’m only able to give this establishment a one star review because I wasn’t able to taste any of there flavors or shaved ice… I hardly ever give reviews but this place made me want to say something because of the horrific customer service! The dude with the «nose ring» and «hipster beard» was the worst person I have ever dealt with in my entire 35 years of existence.
The «hipster dude» when we asked for shaved ice he told my family of four if we could hurry up and order our shaved ice before he got busy, after my kids were forced to sputter out there choices customers began piling in and then the «hipster dude» told us to stand aside while he took care of the other patrons all awhile he rolled his eyes in despair at us like we were bothering him. He then willing tried to talk to my wife into paying a full price to my kids but only giving them quarter of the amount therefore he didn’t have to make as much shave ice and the kids didn’t need as much? I ran for the hills and went to next establishment and would recommend you all do the

Clerk: «It’s company policy for us to get your samples for you.» (AKA: You cannot serve yourself at the self-​serve yogurt shop.)
I’m all about customer service, but I couldn’t help but think that this policy is more about portion control and less about customer service. If the yogurt comes out of your machines too fast, then it’s time to fix your yogurt machines. If this is your policy then put a counter in front of the machines and serve your patrons properly. I don’t need a clerk to put her broom down and reach over to serve me food.
Clerk: «There is a sitting fee if you are going to dine-​in.»
Common’ folks, this should never be a question or brought to my attention! It should be assumed that I am there to dine-​in! If you are not making it… then charge me more for my yogurt! Yes, you have my permission to charge me more money! It’s quite embarrassing (not for me, for you) to ask the customer if they would like to dine in or take out, because there is a charge to dine in on plastic picnic benches?!? The couple after me opted to eat their yogurt on the tailgate of their truck instead of paying the up-​charge. They were sarcastically, laughing it off as they walked out. This policy will not earn return customers.
I love to see small business succeed and not shoot themselves in the foot. I would gladly pay .25, .50, .75 more for my yogurt to never have that experience again. Give yourself a raise and raise the bar, don’t lower it!

We have been coming here since they opened & it’s usually really good yogurt. Today there were 2 flavors out & no hot fudge ! We asked if there was any more & it was just a firm ‘NO’. No, I’m sorry, maybe try this, nothing. But then we weren’t greeted with a hello either. Literally 1adult & 2kids in there so no reason not to greet your customers. I feel for the girl working, she must be having a very bad day, it’s too much for her to hide. Still can’t believe they don’t have hot fudge!

IMMEDIATE DOWN 2-​STARS FOR RUDE & UNHELPFUL EMPLOYEES, the mere stupid fact you cannot get your own sample and that the staff has to get it for you, prices are high, and place was messy.
However! The 3-​stars I did give was for the really good yogurt and variety of flavors. I actually loved the yogurt — the chocolate was one of the best I have had from a yogurt shop, the vanilla was really good too, the different flavor tarts were awesome. It’s a shame that the rude employees make such a negative impact on their business. Not ok. Being an out of towner and my first time in first impressions are everything. While I loved he yogurt I won’t be back after the ill treatment from staff primarily. Or I should say at least that I would maybe try another location and def not come back to this one. What a shame.

Good rotating stock of flavors. Huge topping selection. Friendly service… usually. I’m a regular addict here.
I haven’t seen the manager around in a while, but he was top notch.
Onward, I frequently bring guests with me. My father, best friend (both from out of town), friends or dates. On multiple occasions, my guest did not know what a boba was (those little fruit juice filled tapioca things). I usually let them grab one from my cup.
Each and every time, the same employee yells at them and its always with a tone that makes me never want to come back. Usually, they taste it and put a whole bunch on their own cup. Keep in mind, this is usually after we have been offered multiple free samples of yogurt so precedent is set. Lets not forget the sheer volume of money I spend here! I dread bringing guests when that employee is there.
GIVE IT A REST. Its one Boba that doesn’t even weigh enough to register on the scale. They taste one and buy many. What is your problem!!!

Normally I enjoy this place mainly due to the employees. (I’m easy to please and there’s no such thing as bad froyo to me). There used to be a guy there that was always so outgoing and friendly but I’m not sure if he’s still there.
Well the past few times I’ve been there I did not enjoy my experience at all due to the employees. On one visit, an employee yelled at my 1 year old for eating a m&m from her cup before paying for it. Cmon now she’s 1! Maybe if they weren’t so busy getting samples for other people then there wouldn’t be a long line to pay and my daughter wouldn’t be standing there tempted by the goodness in her hands.
My visit today was what prompted me to write this review. I had a couple coupons for a free 4oz froyo and the girl told me she can take only one, which is fine. I met up with a girlfriend and her kids and gave her my extra coupon and the girl said she can’t take it because we’re together. Really? It’s a totally different household! Her attitude was what made it really bad. She just seemed like she hated life.
The first girl was skinny, white with short hair. The girl today was a little heavier set,
Mexican? with black and red hair. (I’m not racist by any means, I just don’t know their names.) These two just gotta lighten up a bit, you work at a froyo place for goodness sakes.

Usually a great place. I go here or the one on Cirby pretty frequently for shave ice. The second I decided to spring for the $ 7 souvenir cup to get a discount on future orders, though I got royally screwed over. I figured it wouldn’t be as big as usual since the cups didn’t have the flower frill around it to hold ice but I DIDN’T expect it to be a disappointing, uneven, stump. It didn’t even look shaped like a shave ice usually is. Just… a cup… mostly full of ice but not quite. A blatant RIP OFF.
Worse than that, though was the employee making my shave ice. I initially talked to a VERY considerate, VERY helpful girl who seemed to be a little new (I asked, she’s been there since May so I’d totally expect her to still be learning her way around.) When she got busy, she went and grabbed another employee from the back who just acted like she was the most annoying thing on the planet. This girl had the countenance of a malevolent Napolean Dynamite. Rolled her eyes and grumbled at me when I expressed my dissatisfaction with my pitiful $ 7 stump, and barked at the (keep in mind NEW) cashier for not ringing me up properly the first time (I’d ordered an extra topping that she neglected to add. The second employee glared at me like I was trying to trick her or something. No, totally, I just payed for the $ 7 souvenir cup but it’s the fifty cent sno cap drizzle that I’m angling to pilfer from you. Nice job catching me red handed you surly hero you.) To her credit, the nice cashier tried to pay for my sno cap out of her tip jar but I wasn’t about to let her do that. It wasn’t her fault, and I don’t think an employee should have to dip into their own money to make up for a customer’s unpleasant experience. It was really a nice gesture though.
Anyway, the pleasant cashier was very apologetic, but she seemed scared to death of her co-​worker and probably thought I was going to yell at her, so I just sat and ate my sad, expensive, little stump in quiet resignation as I watched all the smart people who just got the regular cup enjoy their bigger and better shaved ices.
Look, I’m cheesed about my shave ice. I freaking live for shave ice and I bought the souvenir cup with the intention of stopping by OMG Yogurt much more frequently to satisfy my craving. But more than that, really, I’m cheesed by the way the second employee treated her coworker. I don’t care what kind of day you’ve had, I don’t care how much help the girl needs, YOU TREAT THE PERSON YOU ARE WORKING WITH WITH RESPECT. You don’t roll your eyes, you don’t raise your voice, you JUST HELP. Especially if they’re nervous. You think acting like a belligerent ogre is going to magically make any work related anxiety disappear?
And let me be very clear, this isn’t even a reflection on her personally. It’s a reflection on OMG Yogurt. You’re the one that allows your employees to create an unpleasant atmosphere for each other and your customers. Fix it. Until then, I’m just going to take this as a needlessly expensive lesson in where not to go for shave ice.

Great yogurt many toppings, but I felt I was being watch like I was a topping theft. Awkward

The yogurt and toppings were good, but I’m a stickler for customer service, especially when there is so much competition in frozen yogurt. One thing that we wanted to do as a family this summer was try three new yogurt shops aside from our usual place. We saw a movie at Blue Oaks tonight and decided to head over and try it for the first time.
I’d learned that this location has a high protein yogurt option not normally in the machines; you have to ask for it. The manager told me that she keeps asking the owner to make some because so many people are asking for it, but that none was made. Darn. I would think that supply and demand would dictate that this product might be available more often, especially with such feedback from the manager.
At Top It Off (our normal place), we are always greeted with a friendly smile, and we always try the new flavor options. When we entered OMG, we didn’t really know where to begin. It was also cramped. When the crowding finally subsided, I saw the sign near the handle and learned that we were not permitted to obtain our own samples. This is a little awkward, but OK.
I decided on my flavor and toppings, without trying any, because it seemed silly to tie up the employee’s time and there were several people to serve. While the other three members of my family were waiting for me, yogurt melting, there was just one other gal at the register who was very busy getting samples, samples, and more samples for people trying flavors. I had to wait for them to finish, and then wait again when this same gal rung up other customers who were waiting. My son’s yogurt was dripping slightly over the side and about to drip onto the floor. He quickly licked it off the side of the cup, and the manager snapped at him «We have to weigh that before you have any of it!» Are you kidding? We had $ 20 in yogurt and she made this grave customer service mistake of making a spectacle out of an eighth of a teaspoon lick to save their floor? Ridiculous.
When you run a small business, customer service is everything. Too bad. I really wanted to like this place.

A tasty yogurt spot
I have been coming here since they first opened and have always liked it. They rotate the yogurt flavors and usually have something new and tasty to try. I tried the French toast flavor this time and it was really good. I wish they had a few more flavors all the time but it is a pretty small shop. Lots of toppings to choose from.
Customer service varies depending on the staff. From the energetic and upbeat girls to the blank stare monotone guy. Never bad or impolite though so no worries.
I will be back again and again.

Toppings are old and hard. Broke my filling biting skittles. Guest wifi is locked, no bathrooms, no free water like Yogurtland does. Not very good overall. Yogurtland is the best yogurt place.

Came here with the GF on her recommendation one night and was totally blown away at the customer service and vast choices of Yogurt and toppings. I’m lactose in tolerant and we called ahead to make sure they had non diary choices and from a lot of yogurt shops I have been to this had the best selection.

Pleasant visit today. My daughter loves coming here. other than the misleading information on my last review, I never have any issues here. My daughter’s yogurts always ring up under $ 3, btw…
The young man behind the counter was really super nice, which is what I would expect here. Great variety of toppings, flavors of yogurt, they even offer shaved ice. That’s pretty neat.

My family and I really like this froyo place. 8 flavors to choose from and over 100 toppings. The store was clean and the price was comparable to all other for frozen yogurt joints.

No offense. I don’t mean to give Such a low rating… but there’s not enough flavours to choose from. only 6 yogurt flavours to choose from and hella tons of toppings. bleh!
Not impressed. I just grabbed a vanilla that is all… was hoping there was Better YOGURT flavours to be served and not toppings. OMG! Yogurt.
