Best Gun shop in Northern California hands down… Everyone on the staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. So much to choose from! Decent prices! Convenient location.

This is a busy firearm, ammo, and accessory shop. Perhaps because it’s the only one open in the area on this Sunday. There are a couple stores closer to home but I wanted to visit this shop because I had heard it’s reputation about not being staffed by jerks and actually helpful and courteous toward their customer, regardless of experience level. Professional an fun.
A nice selection of handguns, shotguns and rifles. The ammunition they stock are quality, not second rate risky. The shop is clean, large enough to move around even when crowded. The handgun case is long and able to accommodate more than just a couple customers. On the opposite side of the shop are the rifle and other accessory cases with sites, scopes, and other gear.
They offer safety classes, women only safety, and CCW. Gun storage and gun maintenance are also available.
Prices on firearms and classes are reasonable. You can definitely shop around and find cheaper prices but I’m willing to pay in store prices for good service and support after the sale.
The store is located next to Ihop and parking sucks on weekends. It was busy on this day and I was impressed when the sales person was able to politely pull himself away (to help a waiting customer) from the group of 3 guys that just wanted to hold big handguns and laugh. I appreciate the staff persons ability to identify a potential customer from the time wasters.

I went in today and was helped out by Bryce. He was so knowledgeable and laid back it was a welcome change from some other gun stores in the area that are so uptight and arrogant! I’m still a very new gun owner and his safety tips and information about the firearm were awesome! The store was packed and everyone there was super busy but he made me feel like I was the only customer in the store! If you’re in the market for a firearm or accessory, go talk to Bryce! I can’t speak for anyone else that works there, but why even bother when Bryce is the best?!

I stopped by here to pick up some ammo for my CCW class. I’ll be honest, I didn’t stick around and look too much, but I think I am going to like this place in the long run.
What I thought was great is they don’t make amateurs like me feel like jerks when asking questions. They are very professional and realize that a lot of people are coming in with differing levels of understanding. I asked about some ammo and they were pretty helpful.
The only «complain» I have is their selection of ammo isn’t the greatest — but it isn’t terrible either. It seems they have a nice selection of all sorts of gear and I am sure they can help you with anything you need if they don’t have it.

How did I not know about this place sooner? Looks small from the outside, but is really quite large and packed full of the biggest selection of quality firearms that I have ever seen in the Central Valley. Courteous knowledgeable staff with no pressure or B.S. Prices are about average for a gun shop which is really amazing when you consider their large overhead. I’ll be back!

I have been to almost all the guns stores in the greater Sacramento area, and I really like this place. The staff has always been nice and helpful. I have bought a few guns here and buy ammo occasionally. They have a good selection of guns and merchandise and I have never had any issues. I did notice a few bad reviews, apparently these dudes thought they were walking into Nordstrom and wanted to be approached immediately, I hope they don’t return I don’t want to shop next to a holes anyways.

I’ve been in four times now and the staff is courteous and knowledgeable. From what I’ve seen, these are not your typical gun store employees. They really seem to know their stuff and are staffed by Lots of military The store is well laid out and They seem to stock top quality items.
As a guy who has boxes of «buyers remorse» gear at home, I was surprised to see that the items they stock are all tested gear that experienced operators would carry. Not the type of items you would see in the big box stores. There are very many stores where you can walk in and check out a Wilson combat 1911 a nighthawk custom 1911 and a Kimber all the same time. Pretty slick deal.

I went in yesterday after calling ahead to see if they could help me out with my weapon that I ended up jamming up while disassembling it; like an idiot. Brian helped me out, and was really cool about the whole thing. Customer service is a really big deal, and I have found is missing in gun shops. There is usually some prick behind the counter who acts like everyone should already be as knowledgeable as them… Nor Cal Gun Vault has it figured out. I will be bringing my money there and spreading the word.

I picked up a new work tool today. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. They even matched lower price from another dealer. I found my new favorite toy store.

Those were the first words in my head when I walked in to Nor Cal Gun Vault for the first time last year. I had just heard about this place, and decided to stop by. Ah, the fresh smell of a new retail establishment. Pristine glass cases. Friendly greetings. Smiling faces. I walked closer to the back of the store…

You see, it was only a few months prior that I had written a glowing review of another local gun store, and specifically mentioned Aaron as a big reason for my 5 stars. So it was with some surprise that I now saw him here. We chatted at length about his new role here, and how the owner, Terry Fong, wanted to start a new type of store that differentiated itself from the rest.
Since then, I’ve stopped by at least once a month for my firearms needs. Even bought my first 1911 (Springfield MC Operator). Their focus on customer service always shows. No gun-​jock, tacticool attitude (Hmm…tactitude? You heard it here first.). They’re always more than happy to show you items from the cases. Never any pressure to buy, from all of my interactions with them, from Terry all the way down to the part-​timers. Just straight up facts and insights.
Let’s be honest, they are not the cheapest in town for everything. And that has always been something that kept me from endorsing them 100%…until today.
Long story short, I brought in my competition pistol to have some new sights installed, a day before my first competition clinic. (Yeah, procrastination on my part.) I get a call from Aaron saying that they were having some problems removing the factory front sight (M&Ps are notorious for this), because on this particular pistol it is very tall. I express my concern about the timeframe. (Again, my fault for procrastinating.) But Aaron tells me he’ll get it done. I later find out that he ended up taking it to a local gunsmith to have the job done with their specialized tools. I have no doubt that considering the time and expense involved for him to do this, that this job was done at a net loss, considering the amount I paid NCGV. I offered to pay any additional expense, but Aaron wouldn’t accept. THIS is customer service!
Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. You can perhaps save a few dollars elsewhere, but you also have to ask yourself, what is being sacrificed for me to save those few dollars? Establishing a relationship with a store you trust, even if it is not the least expensive, can end up paying off in multitides. And that is certainly what I have found with NCGV.

My girlfriend and I had some time to kill while we were getting our car serviced next door. Being gun enthusiasts and owners, we decided it was time to check out The Gun Vault. Walking inside, I was immediately impressed with the size of the store. We were browsing, looking at eyes and ears, etc. and approached by a gentleman who asked if he could help with us anything. We told him we were just browsing and he told us if we needed anything, just to let him know. Score 1 major point for not being pushy.
I’ve been in the market for a new gun for concealed carry. I’d been thinking about the Sig .380 so I asked to look at that particular gun. The gentleman was considerate and knowledgeable as he explained the ins and outs of the gun. As a Sig owner, I am very fond of their guns, but their prices can be a bit steep. So, he showed me the .380 Firestorm. I immediately liked the feel of it, as well as the size. It was a bit bigger than the Sig, but felt super good in my hand. By the time he went over the entire firearm with me, I just wanted to buy it! I didn’t really plan on purchasing today… but…
I walked out and walked back in within five minutes. The purchase was swift and painless. Everyone working there today was courteous and helpful. It seems like they have a really good team. I’m sorry I didn’t catch names, but kudos to the staff at The Gun Vault. They know their stuff and seem to really enjoy talking about guns.
As for me… well, the ten day waiting period can’t come fast enough. I can’t wait to get to the range!

I can’t say enough about the staff at Nor Cal Gun Vault. I just picked up my first gun (Springfield XD 9mm) on Saturday. Being a woman, I didn’t know a lot about the brand or type of 9 mm that I wanted. The guys there didn’t «honey» me or talk to me like I was some ditzy woman, they spent a ton of time explaining the different types of 9 mm pistols, took the guns apart to show me the inner workings, why they recommended one brand over another, ease of use, offered class information, etc. If you’re a novice like me or an experienced marksman, this place is where you want to go.

Wayyy better than any gun shop in the Sacramento area. Compared to Sac Black Rifle, these guys here actually wanna help you. Not only did one guy ask to help me, i actually had 2 helping me. I bought an ak47 grip and mag and helped me with any questions i had. They dont completly treat you like you are worthless and were more than happy to do anything i asked or requested.
Thank you again Nor Cal Gun. I will be back.

I’ve had a couple of very positive experiences with this company. Brice has been my primary salesman. With Jerry and Don helping out when Brice was busy. I love knowledgeable people which they all seem to be. Brice is a gun geek. Watches YouTube vids and stays up to date. He’s not always put to see the most expensive stuff. He know what works and what doesn’t.
Terry is the owner. He’s a nice and determined guy. Michelle works behind the counter and is great with paperwork.
I’ve grown up with guns. And my Brother is a gunsmith and former gun store owner. So I think I know the basic rules of how to act in a gun shop. I often see people who aren’t as clued in. So it must be nerve wracking to work in an environment where you have to deal with total noobs and total know it alls. These guys make it look easy. It’s not. My 12 – 15 total hours behind the counter years ago taught me this.
I see this place as being non threatening for those who want to learn. Asking questions is ok. They are not going to be the cheapest. I’m not looking for that when I want expertise. Sure. I could have bought an optical piece for less online, but I wanted and needed to talk to an expert or two before making my final decision.
This is a good business. It’s got to be a tough time to be in the gun business. Lots of rules. Lots of people watching. Lots of assholes on each side of the gun fence. I’m glad Terry and his place are doing what they do. I don’t mind supporting what they are doing at all.

I’ve conducted business with Terry before and was eager to check out this new store in Rocklin. Plus, there was a particular item I was looking for. Terry greeted me shortly after I walked in the door. He had the item I wanted in-​stock and it was on sale, matching the price of one competing store and undercutting the rest. While I had my mind made up, Terry took the time to show me some different options, ensuring I was making the most informed decision possible. I appreciate that. Unlike most shops, Nor Cal Gun Vault has a computerized DROS entry system, making filling out those forms faster and easier. When it was time for pick-​up, I was in and out of the store within minutes.
Overall, Nor Cal Gun Vault exceeded my expectations. All the staff members I encountered were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions I had. We have quite a few choices in South Placer, but with my latest purchase, Nor Cal Gun Vault has shot to the top of my list. If you value customer service and an inviting, up-​scale, pressure-​free sales environment, you won’t be disappointed.

I don’t know much about guns, but it’s something my boyfriend is very much into and therefore I have visited several shops with him. Gun Vault advertises themselves as family friendly, and that expectation was met 100%.
I’ve only gone shooting twice. Despite my timidness and inexperience, the staff at Gun Vault were extremely informative, kind, and helpful. It was after a visit to this shop that I (think) I’ve found my first gun. They were generous in handing me different types of pistols to hold and figure out what «felt right» to me. They had me try pistols of different calibers, grips, barrel lengths, etc. They didn’t just hand me all the baby guns. I didn’t feel judged at all. I still need to go to a gun range to try shooting my dream pistol and make sure that it’s actually a good fit for me, but if it is, I will come back to this store to buy it from them.

By far some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced from a firearms dealer, which is very rare to find anywhere these days. I drive a long distance from Arden to come here as often as I can. Nor Cal Gun Vault has great prices, a huge selection of all types of firearms, lots of accessories & ammo.
I highly recommend this dealer and they’ve earned a loyal customer.

If you have a question ask! If you wish to test drive one of the rifles just ask if they don’t offer to let you handle it first! Really refreshing to find a gun store that actually has phenomenal service. They had only been open a week when I stumbled in to their store. I have already recommended Nor Cal Gun Vault to 3 of my friends.
