Denise & her staff were very nice & friendly, but I just didn’t feel great about my short 1-​month experience with them. I’ll admit, I didn’t hesitate to pay my up-​front $ 5k retainer fee without doing my due diligent research on her, but since she was referred by my company’s employee assistance program, I felt confident. Fortunately, I was able to get back 90% of the retainer and move on…

We didn’t get very far with this law office and for that I’m thankful! PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH! This office has HORRIFIC reviews on MULTIPLE SITES!
We met with Denise. They mailed us the wrong fee agreement. I signed and returned with a check for 5K. I get a call a few days later saying that was the incorrect agreement, and they’d be sending the new one in the mail and via email. NEVER SHOWED UP.
After waiting 2 weeks I call them. Said that we’re not going to pursue the matter with them. We took the lack of communication as a bad sign.
It took us OVER 3 WEEKS to get our retainer of $ 4900 back. They charged us $ 100 for «opening a file» What they put in that file who knows. since they DIDN“T HAVE ANYTHING TO FILE.
Just really unprofessional, Denise and her staff. Rude. Unhelpful. They basically lied to us for over 3 weeks. I had to call MULTIPLE TIMES to say «where’s the check!?» The secretary Stephanie and book keeper Brenda BOTH LIED to me about when the check would be mailed. SO many excuses and LIES. They treated me like I was a crazy woman! I’m a pretty calm, non confrontational person. YOUR office held my family’s $ 4900 hostage.
I mean what were they going to do with our money!?! They had done nothing on our case because we NEVER SIGNED THE RIGHT FEE AGREEMENT! I heard nothing from them for 2 and a half weeks… I have no doubt that I’d be dead and gone before they called to wonder why they never got our signed fee agreement. I also have no doubt they would have kept our money without a second thought.
I was so frustrated that I called the CA Bar. I was getting ready to file a complaint when the check showed up. The lady I talked to at the Bar, said what was happening was «UNACCEPTABLE». She said there was «NO REASON for our retainer to not be returned IMMEDIATELY.» Those are direct quotes from the CA Bar.
After reading the horrible reviews, and not getting ANY COMMUNICATION form the office about the missing fee agreement for OVER 2 weeks I went and got a second and third opinion on our case. Denise’s case recommendations DID NOT match the other second and third opinions I got. AVOID like the PLAGUE.
To sum it up, AVOID THIS PLACE AND THIER STAFF! They’re unethical and horrible to deal with. Scam artists would be a good name. PLEASE! Read reviews. We assumed since this office was «referred to us» from my husband’s work that they were a good office. That assumption cost us $ 100. At this point I’m just thankful we got out when we could. It could have cost us tens of thousands more.

Very good information, she knows her stuff. She handled my divorce & won everything. I would strongly recommend her to all. You want her on your side
