I see other reviewers have experienced Jeremy’s great service. He is easy to talk to, explains what needs to be done and the follow up required. Jeremy arrived early in the appointment window and went right to work. I’m very happy with the service we receive from HomeShield (we have been a customer since February 2014), but today’s encounter with Jeremy deserves extra recognition.

I had an ant problem and thought I could buy products from the local store to control it. Of course I was wrong! I finally called for pest control. Jeremy was a very professional guy who came out the next day. I would def recommend them! Great service!

I canceled my service back in April of 2015, I moved to a different city in July 2015, and yet I’m still getting automated phone calls of my «scheduled service» at my old address. I called the company to inquire. I was told I needed to send a form to the company via snail mail saying to cancel, and my reasoning behind canceling. I asked how to acquire this form, they said I needed to go to their office to get it. That’s crazy. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

We first called HomeShield when we had a big problem with ants. They came almost immediately and they were able to get rid of the ants. That was 6 months ago and we haven’t seen one ant in the house since then. They come back to spray on the outside every couple of months. They always call first, which is nice too. I highly recommend using HomeShield.

after nearly 3 years, I had enough! This recent 6 months has gotten even worst. The service guy never call prior, he decided to show up whenever he want and leave a note saying ‘can’t service the inside or backyard’ no duh! Because no one is home!!! I then have to call and schedule and have him come back. This happens often… Customer Service is just terrible!!! I kept getting charge but didn’t get the service. I called today to cancel the service, She didn’t bother asking why so I decided I should let her know. Nope. She didn’t care, clearly Homeshield doesn’t need me to be their customer. So go ahead and keep the $ 99 that I just paid for NOTHING! That $ 99 fee is For u to show up at my house unannounced!!!

You can imagine how stressful moving to a new area a week before Christmas could be. Knowing we needed to have pest control out before our furniture and little dogs arrived was important and crucial to having a smooth transition. I found HomeShield on Unilocal through a Google search and they seemed to have good enough reviews, so I gave them a call.
I spoke with the owner of the company, Ian, for almost 20 minutes going over the details of their program offerings, what we needed from them when they arrived and why it was important for them to come out when they did, and set the appointment for a few days later with Ian himself– one day before the moving trucks with our stuff were to arrive.
I sat in an empty house all day long expecting Ian to show up. He was supposed to call me when he was 30 minutes away, but he never called and never showed. When I had another potential hour of waiting, without so much as a chair to sit in, I decided to call HomeShield to get an ETA on Ian. I was told that Ian decided to take the rest of the day off. What baffled me was that the operator knew this, and knew that he had an appointment waiting on him, yet never thought to call me.
She felt bad that they left me hanging and said she could «squeeze» me in the next morning, between 8 – 9 am on a Saturday, the same time the moving trucks were to arrive at the new house, but I was in a bind so I took it. Instead of helping load my stuff on the trucks, I’m back at an empty house waiting on Ian, the owner, who again, never called and never showed.
I did leave a message with the company after this, not requesting an explaination from him, but to let them know to cancel my pending membership with the comapny. It wasn’t until 6 hours later that I got a confused call from that same operator asking «wait, so Ian never showed?»
No, Ian never showed. Again. And if that’s how the owner of your company handles his new clients, I don’t want to find out what it takes to be a long term client. Ian and HomeShield won’t get a third chance to leave us hanging.

Upon viewing my review, the owner Ian called me and offered to refund my money, and come get the rats for free and then «part ways», if I would edit my review. So I said I absolutely would update the review. He then told me that he would refund me the $ 90 AFTER I edited my review. I was so appalled, I told him I didn’t care about the money, I JUST WANTED THE RATS GONE. He then had his assistant call me with an appointment for a whole week later. So I had to suffer through the horrible smell for another 5 days.
I will say that the only good thing in all this was my original tech. He was kind and generous and got 8 more rats out from under my house. He left me tons of bait and traps and tried his best to make it up to me.
I still, however, have dead rat smell coming out from under my house, and I have received a phone call everyday from Ian the owner, which to me is harassment, in order to change my review. I have never, in my life, dealt with a situation as awful, and just bizarre as this. Choose this company with caution, and Ian? Stop calling me.
