Cats Only Veterinary Hospital

I bring both of my cats to Dr. Priest. My senior kitty has been seeing her for years and I highly recommend her. Yes the prices here are a bit higher than what you might pay elsewhere, but to me it’s worth the extra cost for Dr. Priest and the obvious way she cares for her patients. I also appreciate that it’s Cats Only, I feel that makes an already stressful situation a bit less terrifying if there are no dogs around. All of the staff here are wonderful and caring. The only negative reviews I see here are people being charged for services they didn’t feel were necessary; when I brought my cat in for persistent vomiting and weight loss, Dr. Priest made several recommendation but also made it clear that I was in charge of what they were going to do and I could say no to whatever I wasn’t able to have done. Love these people and won’t take my cats anywhere else.

Dr. Priest and her staff have cared for my cats for over 10 years and have been wonderful. As my elderly cat aged and his health deteriorated, Dr. Priest did a great job of helping me navigate our health care options without pressuring me to spend more than I could afford. Dr. Priest and her staff always showed that their work is more than just a job to them — they loved my cats and we considerate of me as their owner. I highly recommend them!

We have two kitties and were looking for a vet near West Roseville. I am so happy to have found Cats Only Vet! Dr. Priest and her staff are perfect! I had to bring one of our babies in for stomach issues, and was concerned because he can get stressed easily. I really love that there are only cats at the office. Dr. Priest really takes her time to explain things to you, and the cost is very reasonable. I originally picked her because she was a graduate of UCD, and could not be more pleased with our choice.
I look forward to many years with Dr. Priest and her staff!

Oh, where to start? This is the best vet clinic I have been to. I am so thankful to Dr. Priest and her staff for bringing my baby Peppy back to health.
Peppy was 15 yrs old when I first took him to Dr. Priest due to weight loss and dehydration. I was so nervous and scared but she and her staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed.
Peppy has been on a regimen of fluids, supplements, and meds and has been brought back to a great quality of life. I appreciated how Dr. Priest provided ample information about Peppy’s condition and took time to answer my questions. She also offered treatment options and helped me select one to fit my budget.
I am so thankful to Dr. Priest and her staff for bringing Peppy back to good health. I will definitely go to Dr. Priest for my future veterinarian needs.

Dr. Priest has been taking great care of our cats for years and she is wonderful. Always does the right thing for you and your kitty.
She gave us options as to how much intervention we were comfortable with for our sweet kitty that was very sick.
She is very caring and compassionate as well as very intelligent.

I love this place! I love the staff, the fact that it’s cats only & the plethora of information that Dr. Priest provided me. She is truly a compassionate educator that simply loves kitties! Plus, on our way out the door, I asked her about my cat’s diet and she gave me two free, ample sized samples of cat food for my little Onyx to try. Very generous! You and your cat will be very pleased with the treatment at Cats Only Hospital.

Dr. Priest is a great vet, she is very caring and will do what it takes to figure out what’s going on with sick kitties. She is not pushy or impatient and her staff is equally as friendly and professional. We found her office when our vet was too busy to see one of our cats who had become suddenly ill over the weekend. Needless to say we will be switching to Cats Only permanently for all future kitty needs! Thank you for all you do for our furry babies!

Dr. Priest is simply one of the best people in her profession. She has been our vet on two cats and has shown us every courtesy and is truly a professional. You know she loves cats as she is allergic to them and manages it with her doctor. She either loves cats or is a glutton for punishment!
We’d prefer to consider her a consummate professional who loves what she does and has done such an incredible job for us that we wouldn’t consider taking our cat anywhere else.
We recently had to put our kitty to sleep and she was as emotional as we were. She really cares. Our kitty didn’t suffer at all and it was extremely peaceful. (not always the case but it was here) Our cats have always been comfortable in her care and with her staff.
I recommend Dr. Priest without reservation. When we get a new kitty, it’ll be a patient of Dr. Priest.

My kitty had a bad case of colitis and vomiting. I took her in and she was examined and lab work was recommended, as well as vitamin B shots (at $ 20 buck a pop) ultrasound$ 300, heartworm meds, rabies shot (when she was better), subcutaneous fluid. Her eyes get goopy so they sold me some Viralys powder at $ 35 (I found it later online at $ 12.99 plus free shipping!) I work at a vet lab, so all her blood work was free thru them.
I declined the ultrasound, rabies shot, Heart worm meds, but I did fall for the vitamin B shot and the subcutaneous fluid. All in all, my bill was $ 400. (And this is without the lab work charges.)
After all the results were in, it was determined my kitty is in early stages of renal disease. But no diagnosis for the colitis and vomiting! I suggested putting her on Clavamox… the Dr. said it could make her worse. I insisted we try, it cured her, and she hasn’t had any diarrhea in about a year. So. Essentially I cured her!
One more thing I want to mention… after they drew her blood my kitty was so traumatized, she was shaking uncontrollably. I had to put her carrier in the car where it was quiet for her to calm down. Not sure what they did to her, but I’ve had her and other kitties blood drawn without them ending up terrified.
So I don’t really recommend this vet.

I will not be taking my cats here again. We just moved from the Bay Area and needed a good vet for my cats. I saw all of the great reviews for Cats Only so decided to take my two senior cats in for their annual exam. They are both in good health, never any problems. I asked the Dr to take blood work and urine samples in addition to the exam as I do every year to make sure my kitties are checked for everything. She agreed and then proceeded to run up my tab by telling me that I needed to give them fluid injections, vitamin B shots, put them on heartworm medication (even though they are both indoor cats), give them ultrasounds, and put them both on a prescription diet. I declined on the diet and ultrasounds but my bill for the 2 cats still ended up being over $ 800!!! The most I had spent in the Bay Area on any exam with blood and urine samples was $ 150 per cat. On top of that, my cats did not like her. They have never hissed at anyone (including vets) but one of them hissed at her. Beware if you take your pet here and do not let the Dr sell you anything that is not necessary for your pet.

Dr. Priest did an amazing job on my two cats teeth cleaning. She is very attentive and gets the job right the first time. And I like the fact my cats don’t have to get more stressed being around barking dogs. Very nice, friendly, super clean office!

Very happy with this place. When my little Steven Tyler got sick they were very helpful in giving me full insight into what could be wrong. Rather tha telling me there is only one way to help him, the doctor gave me the option to decide what I want to do while letting me know what she feels would work best. Three short days later he was all better. The staff there is friendly, and it’s easy to tell they truly love cats. Thank you! And I’ll definitely keep bringing Steve here!

Cats Only Vet Hospital is wonderful. Dr. Priest and her staff are all professional, attentive and caring towards their patients and owners. Our elderly cat no longer stresses out when she visits the vet. We’re so glad we found COVH.

I adopted my Ragdoll kitten from Finer Point Ragdolls and was referred to this vet. After going to this vet, I recommended Dr. Priest to my mother who now goes here as well.
It is easy to make an appointment and I love the pet portal feature.
Dr. Priest and her technicians have the best interest in my kitten which means the world to me.

When I first moved to the area my neighbor recommended Dr. Priest. I have three cats, two with health issues. Dr. Priest and her staff are the bomb! I know my cats are getting the best care and it is done with a big heart. Dr. Priest always gives you options for tests and her recommendations are right on. I wouldn’t take my babies any where else. Like another reviewer said «you get what you pay for»…and Cats Only is worth the cost.

I have been bringing my cats to Cats Only Veterinary Hospital for years! Dr. Priest is so good and caring. If you have a cat and live in the area, this is the place to bring your cats.

We just had our first visit, Dr. Priest was great as was her staff. The facility was very nice and we’ll be brining both of our cats back in regularly!

I’m so grateful for Dr. Priest. I’ve got three kitties and we’ve all had our share of visits to the vet. It killed me to have to drag a scared cat into their kitty carrier only to have to sit in the waiting room with barking dogs, other scared cats and a long line of people in a crowded waiting room. And then having them wait in a separate exam room for long periods of time made me doubt they’d get in their kitty carrier again.
Thankfully, the visit to see Dr. Priest now is far less stressful which means less shedding in my car to and from the hospital. The waiting room is always quiet, the staff is super friendly and welcoming and the wait in the exam room is never too long.
My oldest cat is 13 and has issues that comes with being an older cat. I can tell he’s in a pain a lot and it breaks my heart to have to bring him in twice a month to get poked and prodded for his own good. Dr. Priest always has the best bedside manner with him though and tries her best to remedy a situation without necessarily turning to the most expensive route which is more than what I can say for my last vet in SF.
I always go home with my cat knowing he’s in the best hands and that everything has been done with his best interest in mind.

Top notch facility run by a very knowledgeable Dr. Priest. She is very easy to communicate with and she definitely has a knack for handling cats! Mine is a feisty one but it’s no problem for Dr. Priest. I highly recommend this office and wish I could find a vet this good for my dogs.

I really like how it is for cats only. I think it makes it less stress full. They are very friendly there and don’t seem to mind if you are few minutes late for your appointment :) .
They don’t do any grooming on the weekends, which is kinda sucky but not horrible. They are closed on Sunday’s and their Saturday’s fill up fast so you’ll want to book early in the week.
