Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Richard W. Schmid, DDS and King Kim, DMD, practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from corrective jaw surgery to wisdom tooth removal. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries and TMJ disorders, perform a full range of dental implant and bone grafting procedures, as well as perform a comprehensive range of facial cosmetic surgeries.

Dr. Schmid and Dr. Kim’s staff are trained in assisting with general anesthesia and I.V. sedation within our state of the art office setting. New Image Maxillofacial was the first office in Brevard County to use Cone Beam CAT Scan Technology with the introduction of a state of the art 3-​dimensional scanner in their Rockledge office. They were also the first office in Central Florida to offer the benefits of Platelet Rich Plasma to their patients more than 14 years ago. Dr. King Kim grew up in Beaverton, Oregon just outside of Portland where he graduated from Aloha High School. This was followed by earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Dr. Kim then began traveling and working domestically and internationally. He proceeded to earn a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and subsequently a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Nova Southeastern University/​Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During his residency, Dr. Kim also trained at Memorial Regional Hospital, Baptist Hospital, South Miami Hospital, and Doctors Hospital all in Miami. Dr. Kim then completed a fellowship in Facial Cosmetic Surgery at Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi. Currently he maintains a position as an adjunct clinical professor at Nova Southeastern University/​Broward General Medical Center Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surg
