On a cold and rainy night, the Holliday Inn Kickoff Café is a warm chowder in my belly and uplifting Scotch in my soul. First off, the service is the best I’ve ever had in Rockland, MA. The homemade chips are delightful(though they need a pinch more salt), and the burger was juicy delicious. This is the place to be if you’re young and want to party on a Friday night.

Place Is a serious joke. Food is awful. Service is worse. We were told rather rudely to leave when we sat down beacuse u can’t have liquor in the restaurant.(we were staying at the hotel for a wedding and waiting for the rest of our group to head out). The bar tender actually got in my brothers face and told him to get out. Mind you we are with my 82 year old aunt and it’s 5pm on a Friday. We spoke to the manager on duty and were really disappointed. Don’t even waste your time.”

The guy in the previous review for this place who loved it must have been so drunk that a shoe wouldve tasted good to him. This place(located in the Holiday Inn) is awful awFUL AWFUL! One night we ordered a small pizza delivered to the room. It was a heated up frozen personal size 4 inch pizza(claiming to be 7 inches… we’ve all heard that before) for $ 8.95 plus 20% service charge plus $ 2.95 delivery. They try to fool you by sprinkling shredded cheese around the plate with some herbs. But this thing came out of a box! However, the WORST part of this place was breakfast. Maybe the buffet is the way to go but i don’t eat that much so i got my usual 2 eggs OM, Rye Toast, bacon potatoes. The toast came immediately with my orange juice. Then i waited and waited and waited while people kept coming and going to the buffet. After a very long wait under an icey air vent which cooled my toast thoroughly, my breakfast finally came. The eggs were way Over Hard instead of medium and COLD. Cold eggs, cold bacon, cold toast and fresh out of the fryer Hot potatoe fries. They were good. «Ketchup please!» By the time the ketchup came with my bill i had finished eating this sad cold breakfast. I was hungry and did not have time for this very nice but inefficient waitress to return. Then i tried to pay the bill with my other credit card and NOT have it placed on the room bill. So i waited some more. And waited… and waited with my card sticking up out of the black book. Finally i gave up and gave in to putting this awful meal on the room. BUt there was no extra receipt for me to take for my records. Anyway, this place sucks in every way. Maybe the buffet is the way to go but i recommend just going next door to Dunkin Donuts or taking a ride. Or just skip breakfast altogether!
