Don’t go here for alterations. I’ve stupidly brought several pairs of pants here because they’re so cheap and close to my house. After my first trip(3 pairs of pants) the hem proceeded to fall out of one leg on each pair. I was desperate for a quick hem one other time and went here and the hem actually fell out the same day. That’s after they charged me extra for ‘wide leg’ pants — sorry that I don’t wear my stuff tapered. Go to Mino’s on Route 18, she’s awesome.

The previous review could have been my review. 2 shirts ruined and it took one month and me stopping in often to see what was going on. I was promised a check and each time I went in there was no check. The owner is not involved in any way and I was told he was ‘on vacation’. Customers aren’t important here. I have been going since they opened and the women know me by face and name, but I was told ‘that we are already going above and beyond…” on this issue. 4 weeks is above and beyond? I wouldn’t trust anything of value here. Things happen, but it’s how you handle them that is the true character of the business.

Update: After almost 2 months of back and forth and my taking out papers from small claims court, the still illusive owner finally mailed me a check. Mind you it was not for the replacement cost of the shirts but would cover 60% of the cost of new. Even this resolution does not come without head shaking actions on the owner’s part. At one point he actually used the boiler plate text on the ticket as his reason for not compensating me. Apparently what he doesn’t know is that simply because you hand someone a piece of paper with a disclaimer printed on the back does not mean it is a binding or agreed to contract. I still shake my head at this. My empathy goes out to the poor ladies who work there and have to put up with this sad behavior from their«boss». The local people who work there are fine women and tried their best to not be placed in the middle. Unfortunately their boss simply would not stop using them as shields to hide behind. Selfishly what sucks the most is now I have to find a new dry cleaner close to home. I was going to change my review to 2 stars but the description reads, «I’ve experienced better» where as the description for 1 star read«Me thinks not».

I totally agree with Sean D. I have had a very similar experience with them. I would give them 0 stars if that was possible. I am all about small business owners and helping them. Usually, they offer way better customer service and that personal touch that is lost with the larger chain stores. Not Couture Dry Cleaners. I will never use them again.
