Lucette

Update: Kate called me after the situation last Thursday. She apologized and offered to see me ASAP. I saw her this morning and I have to say, I had excellent service. From the aromatherapy to the scalp massage to Kate just taking the time to hear me out about how I want my hair to look like, I am very pleased and I’m glad she called me back.
I feel very comfortable with Kate and It is a gorgeous salon. I have a great haircut and I look forward to seeing her again. Bravo.

I drive two hours one way from Lake Forest, IL just to go to this amazing salon. Need I say more? Kate and her staff are ultra-​professional and go out of their way to make everyone comfortable and their work is amazing. Don’t hesitate. Just go.

I want to start off by saying that I originally planned for my appointment to be with Kate since she had a lot of good reviews. Unfortunately she was sick today which meant that I would either need to plan another appointment with her later or schedule one today with someone else. I decided to go with someone else, and I am glad that I did! Sabrena was just so easy to talk to and she converted my Joe Dirt mullet back into the pixie cut it was destined to be. In addition to that, I was offered Aveda Tea (addiction in a mug), given a complimentary hand massage (included with the haircuts I assume), and charged half of what it would have been for Kate. And I get it, you get what you pay for with Kate. But while Kate is Dolce and Gabbana, Sabrena is like the Target of hair salons; just as loved but more economical for my coin purse.
One of these days when I want top notch I will go to Kate, but for my regular business I will be back to see Sabrena. I normally find myself uncomfortable and nit-​picky at other salons but here I felt welcome, comfortable, valued, and cute with my perfect little haircut. Lucette might be in a the oasis of a deserted downtown Rockford area, but it’s up and coming and I could see a fun girls night being: going to get haircuts before walking down the street to a fun little restaurant. What a perfect little hipster place I found. I love it!

This is literally the best salon, possibly ever — and definitely the best in the area. Every employee takes their job seriously and they work to ensure that they offer the best services. The owner Kate does everything she can to ensure great guest satisfaction. Plus, if you get a pedicure it will be the best that you ever have.
The salon offers basically everything that you could want for hair, nails, and body care. There really isn’t a reason to go anywhere else. And once you try them out, you will want to go back again and again.

Kate was recommended to me by a friend who has seen her for years (she even moved to Elgin and continued to commute to Rockford just to get waxed). Anyways so I go in, extremely nervous bc of the awful experiences I’ve had. Kate was so awesome! I got a Brazilion and it barely hurt, not even in the really sensitive areas! I have sensitive skin, but she was so good w/​me! She didn’t miss any spots &&& I had seriously no problems I usually have after! I had an amazing experience &&& I highly recommend this place to everyone! Ohhh &&& I saw they have a beautiful tile tubs for pedicures. It looked very nice! I might have to try a pedicure here some time…

I moved to Rockford 6 months ago and was looking for a good salon… I found Lucette and there was no looking back! I absolutely love this place. It is always clean, has a great vibe, and I have been extremely satisfied with every treatment and haircut that I have received there. When you walk in they offer you something to drink; their tea is delicious and in the summer they have fruit infused water. Depending on what you are there for, they will give you a warm herbal neck wrap… so relaxing! For waxing/​facials, I would highly recommend Kate — she is very sweet, made me feel very comfortable, and always does a great job. I went to Kirsten for my haircuts and she was great as well. Everyone there was absolutely wonderful — and if I haven’t said it enough, I would highly recommend going to Lucette!

Hi, this is an update to my review on Lucette Salon and Spa. The owner contacted me after my initial review with an offer to come back, and she would deduct the amount I felt I was overcharged on my initial visit.
In addition, Megan my stylist offered to give me a free manicure! I’m so glad I went back as I really do like Megan and feel she’s very good at color and styling. In addition, Kate the owner is a peach. The level of professionalism is fantastic, yet they have a very warm and geniune quality. It’s also nice to go downtown and see the positive changes and business investment taking place!

I love Lucette. I came in Sophomore year in need of some major Lucette TLC. Kate (one of the many fabulous stylists at Lucette) took me under her wing, and showed me what it was like to be loved by a blowdryer. I swear to the good Lovin Lord, her hands are magic! She shampoos my hair like no other. When I over plucked my eyebrows, she didn’t laugh at me, or throw Cheetos at me, like the other kids. She gave me advice and helped me build self confidence. I am so appreciative of everything that Lucette has bestowed upon me. Sadly, I am leaving Rockford next year for college, but I will wait for every Holiday to get my hair cut at Lucette. You are one appointment call away from become the You you never knew You could be. Please, call Lucette, and let the magic begin. As Gandi once said, «My hurr be lookin goood.»

I tried Lucette after seeing the reviews here on Unilocal.I was looking for something slightly upscale in atmosphere but without unreasonable prices. This salon definitely fit the bill. I went in for a 30 minute Pure Focus facial and a haircut/​color. Stephanie did my facial and she was great. She had a very soothing voice a personality to match. I was completely relaxed during the entire service and felt like it was the perfect amount of time (I tend to get antsy after too long and I knew I would be in the salon chair for a while).
My cut and color were with Megan. Megan is fantastic. She listened to all of my ideas and took her time making sure that I knew what she was doing and why. I found this especially helpful since it was my first visit with her and I can sometimes be nervous with a new stylist. Megan was super easy to talk with and even went out to the parking lot to check that my car was not in danger of being ticketed (3 hour limit parking). All of the stylists in the salon were very professional and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing which definitely adds to the experience. I can tell that Megan knows what she is doing and wants to make her clients happy! Thanks, Megan!
I would definitely recommend this salon to a friend. I felt very welcome and comfortable on my first visit and look forward to going back.

I love Lucette! I got an amazing pedicure, cut and color from Sabrena and on another visit I got a haircut and treatment from Leah. The environment is so relaxing and welcoming and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I love the products and that the girls really take their time on doing the little things like giving an amazing head massage at the shampoo bowls to make sure you’re getting the most out of your experience there. I will definitely be back :)

Lucette always surpasses my expectations. From the moment I walk in, I am greeted with a warm smile and welcoming hello from a staff member (or two) who then offer me a hot tea or cool water to drink. From there, it’s on to a consultation with my hairstylist to discuss desires for my cut and what might look best for my long, thin hair. My favorite part is the included scalp and hand message that I receive during the shampoo – pure relaxation! What a great way to de-​stress after a day of work & being a mom!
I usually see Kate (owner & stylist), and greatly appreciate all the time she spends answering my questions about the products she uses to style my hair and why. She always takes her answers beyond my original question (s) to also show me HOW to reproduce the style she is creating (which is very helpful.) Plus, Kate always gives free samples of great, new products!
All in all, Lucette provides an outstanding experience!

I came to this salon for a haircut and a massage a couple of months ago while on vacation in Illinois. I had the best experience here! The staff is really friendly and attentive to the client’s needs. I loved my haircut and it’s growing out beautifully! I will definitely come back here when I visit Illinois again :)

Great salon. This salon is something you would expect to find in downtown Chicago with prices close to $ 100 for a haircut. Lucky for us it’s in Rockford and much more affordable!
Megan Smith gave me a haircut and she was great. She really took her time and did a great job. Everyone on the staff was friendly. I’ll definitely be back!

Love love this salon. We followed Becky here and love it. Becky is awesome and always up for trying something fun and going out of the box. Love her vision and way of making it come to life with such a personal service. Every one in this salon has made me feel welcome and they are a fun group of ladies. Love the product lines that are available as well. Awesome atmosphere!

Kate’s love of beauty and art are what make this salon stand out from the rest. It will quickly become a staple of the vibrant downtown area.
The salon offers many services with many talented employees and I have never had a bad service there. It is clear that everyone there has a passion for what they do and are continuing their training to stay current with trends.
