History

Established in 2011.

Kate’s Pie Shop began baking old school pies for delivery and farmers markets in the autumn of 2011. We decided to merge our budding pie business with our passion for records. We opened our first pop-​up shop in 2013; super tiny shop in the same building as our commercial kitchen. offering a relaxed hip space to pick up pie & coffee while viewing our tiny magazine rack of records. It was a start. By January 2014 we began looking in earnest for a much larger location. We opened our current and much loved café at 6685 East State Street in June of 2014; offering pies and records along with pasties, sandwiches and espresso. Neat-​0! Our record store specializes in vinyl records only; LOTS OF JAZZ. classic rock, punk, indie, vintage country, and just about any other music you can think of. Some of it is crap, but cool crap. We are proud to be a unique business in our little corner of the world. The first pie and vinyl café in North America.

Hi– I’m Kate, Just your average middle age punk baking awesome pies. Married to the record store savant, Stuart Patterson. We own and run Kate’s Pie Shop Café & Records. He might be a bit grumpy, but I smile a lot so its OK. Ask for me if he’s being TOO much of a jerk. But TALK to him if you want to know anything about punk rock, or music in general. The guy is a genius.
