Horrible experience — I had my wisdom teeth pulled in May at Dr. Kurt Jensens office. I went back a week later thinking I had an infection in one of the extraction sites, and he said I was fine and inflammation was normal even a few weeks after surgery. Keep in mind this is right before I moved to Cali. I told him I was worried and I thought I should at least get antibiotics to keep away what I thought was an infection(as much as I hate the over use of antibiotics I still really thought I needed them, that says a lot). He said I’d be fine to go to Cali and if need be he could send some wherever I was, and as long as my ear didn’t start hurting that means I didn’t get an infection. Well my ear never hurt because the infection went down and not up. Fast forward two months and I woke up with a swollen jaw because the infection was so bad, had to go to a dentist here and be put under to have another oral surgery to drain the infection and leave a drain in my gums for 3 days, putting me out of work for a week to recover. When I called dr Jensen hoping for some reimbursement for the surgery that should have been avoided, they said had I been in Rockford he would have treated me for free and that they will not help me pay any of these new medical bills. So, if you guys can avoid going there please do. He was a good dentist, but they are not good people. Sorry for the rant, I truly dislike being negative but this needs to be known. Thanks for reading!

I must really love my sister and brother(or secretly love torturing them). Recently it became necessary for both to have their wisdom teeth out, and since my previous doctor was no longer covered under our insurance I was forced to find another. To begin, the receptionists were amazing. I had to schedule pre-op appointments for both of the siblings to get some anti-anxiety meds, as well as the actual surgery, but both kidlets had ridiculous times to work around. Bless their hearts, the ladies behind the counter patiently worked with me to fit them in. They also called the day before both appointments with cancellations, asking if I’d like to make the appointment earlier. I left the office with insurance forms for both of them, so we could even get an estimate for what would and wouldn’t be covered by insurance. The actual doctor was a little… different, but honestly, I think he was just incredibly busy and focused, and I’m judgmental and critical. I’ll take weird and focused over friendly and stupid. Neither of the actual patients seemed nervous about his behavior, so that was a plus(they both freak out at the doctors office, so I needed things to go smoothly). On the day of the actual appointment, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in being calm and explaining the procedure as well as the post-op care. The doctor was also a little more friendly on the day of the actual surgery, so I believe that calmed some nerves. The staff was also very kind and helped me schlep my sister out to the car and even buckled her in. The night after the appointment, the doctor(not the staff) called me to see how they were both doing and asked some follow up questions. A nice, personal touch. Two final notes: One, each patient got a bag with after-care items, which included the most genius head wrap with pouches for ice packs on either side of the face(2 sets of ice packs included, so you could freeze one while using the other), as well as lip balm(when you can’t feel your face, your lips dry out) and a funny t-shirt(which isn’t so funny for those just out of surgery, in pain and drugged up, but hilariously funny for those caring for them). Two, they didn’t seem to understand that my sister lived out of town, so they kept trying to make follow up appointments, so there was just a bit of miscommunication after the whole dealio. Even so, I would recommend this doctor and office for any dental surgery needs.
