History

Established in 2011.

Camera Craft’s parent company (Rockford Photo) established about 1917 wanted to expand from photo processing into the sales of cameras and related accessories. On January 17, 1930, that dream became a reality as they opened Camera Craft in downtown Rockford IL.

I had the pleasure and privilege of growing up in this very much family business, where all 7 of my siblings and my 4 children worked during our high school and college days. While my parents (Robert & Dorothy Brady) retired from the business in 1996, my brother Pat Brady, brother inlaw, David Seigel and niece, Erin Kirkpatrick, assist me, along with Vicky Larson, Mary Giardina and Tina Swanson, in the day to day operations of helping you with your photo needs. We are most grateful for your patronage and we will always work with integrity to earn your business.

I went into the store for the first time, but I was not impressed with the staff’s attitude. Pretty sad but now they are the only game in town. I guess they can get away with things.
The store is clean and neat. That’s a positive.

I feel a camera store should have a bit of analog and digital accessories.
I feel a camera store should educate their customers in the upcoming movements of
photography.
I am in town once again for a photo op and I have run out of my resources. I called a local store to obtain film and a camera store cannot keep up with the upcoming trend.
A camera store cannot call themselves a camera store when the service agent is trying to convince me that certain film does not exist and to call another store in the Rockford area.
The wave of analog is coming.

This is the only place you should go if need a camera fixed or information about a camera in Rockford. The staff is top notch and they don’t want to rip you off. They know how to save you money on a quality camera if you’re looking for one. I can’t suggest this place highly enough. They’re very high-​touch and helpful without being pushy or making me feel like if I don’t buy something they’ll be mad.

This is by far the best camera store in Rockford. The staff knows exactly what they are talking about and they are very nice. They are there to get you what you need, not what they have to get off the shelf. They have a wide selection of equipment in the store, so if you want to go and tool around with an $ 8000 camera and talk about it for an hour, this is the place to go. Also, David, the senior camera guy is awesome. One time I had to buy a camera for my mom, but couldn’t get it from them and he emailed me recommendations on cameras! He told me to go to Circuit City because they were going out of business and had good deals!
In closing, this place is awesome.
