Loved our experience here! Perfect peaceful private getaway! Bonfires, adorable cabins, and shooting stars! The owners are wonderful, super friendly and make a great breakfast :) We will definitely be back!

You know when you need a place to just get away to for some peace and quiet it’s really hard to find it. I happened upon Thunder Ridge Cabins and I am so glad I did! The cabin I stayed in was very clean, warm and welcoming. It has a mini fridge and microwave for some snacks which is good since I wasn’t going anywhere. The owners are very very nice! They actually care about your trip to get there, your upcoming stay and anything else you have going on! I had to cut my stay short because of a family member went into the ER and I can tell you that they were genuinely sad/concerned for me. Hard to find people who care. I would recommend this to anyone just wanting to slip away for a weekend! Shane

Extremely good price(best in the area by far) and a wonderful and much-preferred alternative to a boring motel/hotel. The owners are lovely; thoughtful, caring, and genuinely kind.(+2 for adorable cats.) We stayed in the Bird’s Nest, which is perfect for a couple who enjoy hiking and relaxing in peaceful cabin in the evening. The cabin was cozy, cute, and well-maintained. Note that the bathroom only has a shower and no tub… but who cares? Tubs at hotels/motels are the thing I stand in to use the shower. I do believe the other cabins may have full baths, but this one was the least expensive, and precisely what we needed(and wanted). If you’re coming in the dark and aren’t used to driving on country roads(or just don’t love it… I sure don’t!), it can be a bit of a white-knuckle experience, simply because it’s narrow and nearly lightless. Like Twin Peaks style. But keep in mind I’m a total city-slicker, so what the hell do I know? We really loved the fact that Thunder Ridge is secluded, but advise you plan accordingly and eat somewhere in town before arriving or settling in for the night, as there is nowhere very close by. Also, bring snack! You’ve got a mini-fridge and microwave… and a delightful breakfast in the morning. And I mean a serious HOMEMADEBREAKFAST. And really good coffee. The things that matter, damnit. Most importantly, beautiful Hocking Hills, Lake Hope, and Zaleski State Forest(and many other gorgeous areas) are within 30 minutes or less. Recommended without hesitation. You’ll love it.
