The line was long but the efficient crew behind the counter managed to move it along quickly. I saw the variety of cone flavors they offered and I decided to try their pretzel cone with now, what’s become my all time favorite flavor — butter cake. The saltiness from the pretzel kind of over powered the flavor though, but if you like your ice cream with a little salt than go for it. I’ll try the chocolate chip cone the next time and I’m excited to taste the other funky flavors they’ve got.

I had seen an article about the cool things that happens on the weekends at Jacob Riis on TimeoutNY and I decided to take the trip down there the day oater Fourth of July. There was a cool picnic area with a great deal of tables and a DJ playing(dance party Sunday’s wahoo!) What actually first caught my attention were all the kitchy names like, «Baby I was churned this way» and«bacon in the sun» but then I saw the pretzel cone and it was love at first sight! I ended up having a pretzel cone with ooey gooey butter cake and sweet baby Jesus was it good! Yes the cones are dense but honestly I thought it was better because it didn’t break in your hands making you feel like the hulk hogan if ice cream! I would recommend this to anyone visiting the beach! Mind you yes the are moderately pricey but you also getting artisan ice cream not carvel! So I don’t mind spending the extra two bucks on quality!

Sadly the experience here reinforced my first AHC impression at their original location* — overrated. Large(3 flavors/scoops) «in» an M&M cone for $ 7.75: –orange creamsicle — they should remain out of the sherbet game, as should everyone(the reason for the«in», as they warned it wouldn’t fare well in a cone, so they just placed it on top of the cup) –churned this way — pretty tasty, mainly due to the sunflower seeds, not forgettable barely hazelnut-ty ice cream –strawberries & cream — really unremarkable, especially given it’s the season Oh, and the M&M cone was dense and a waste of the extra $ 1.50.and the vanilla bean and dark chocolate samples before ordering didn’t convince me it’s a shop worth the hype. Service being unnecessarily slow didn’t help either, and they easily could’ve been out of said extra $ 1.50 because they took every customer on their word with their orders, and handled payment in a completely random way. *I loved my visit to their GWM outpost. Not surprised to have had to add this listing, as they don’t even bother to list this outpost on their site
