I didn’t know what a «fresh» bagel tasted like until I had a bagel from this place! Seriously the best bagel I’ve ever had!!! I had the jalapeño cream cheese and it was amazing! Can’t wait to go back and try more! I give the food a «5» and the service was a 3 or 4 for today.

Terrible delivery service. Over an hour I call they say the food is out, an hour and 40 minutes food still isn’t here.

As a teacher at a local school, my colleagues and I have ordered from here a few times but after today, never again. I don’t know what these owners are thinking by raising their prices all the time. We ordered a couple of roast beef and cheddar wraps for lunch today. I specifically asked if the roast beef was rare. The girl replied, «Yes». Great so we ordered four wraps with side salads. We were shocked to find out that the wraps were $ 9.75 each??? For what? Are they importing the beef from Kobe, Japan? The roast beef was NOT rare, it didn’t even taste fresh! the side salad was dried out and tasteless, and the pickle was mushy. This was not the first time that we had been so disappointed. I can’t comment about the bagels, but our past experiences with lunch items at this establishment has not been positive. Residents in the area have been telling us to try Deli 101. Fresh vegetables, hot«Specials» for lunch, clean tables etc.

I loved this place ever since I was younger. The food is fresh, big portions, and I’ve never had a problem. The downside is the pricing. I come here when I can afford it. But remember you get what you pay for, and it’s worth it to eat from here.

Good service and good food. Bagels are always fresh to death. Their iced coffee of the best by far no dunkin donuts or Starbucks can compare. Their sandwiches are awesome too. Chicken cutlet with roasted red peppers is a must try.

Let me first start off by saying that this place has some of the best food around. This review has nothing to do with the quality of food here. This review has everything to do with the customer service, management(or lack there of), and delivery. Customers should not have to wait 2 hours for a delivery because«the driver isn’t back yet». It’s not like this place is delivering to Guam. Want to know the worst part? It’s when the girl on the other side of the phone makes it feel like YOU’RE inconveniencing HER by calling and asking where your food is after waiting an hour and a half. She’s snobby, basically calls you a liar by saying you only ordered a half hour ago(hey lady, cell phones these days show when you called), and is completely unapologetic for the fact that the customer doesn’t have their order. No sorry, no discount, no nothing. So guess what? No more business from me. Unless you like waiting till next week for delivery, stay away.

Tired this place 2 times. The first, ordered a vegetarian omelette for delivery and it tasted like straight up bacon fat. Just tried to place another order for delivery and the girl taking my order was straight up rude — she had no customer service skills whatsoever. Will never try this place again.

Let me first start by saying, I’ve had Boardwalk Bagel many times. I just moved to Rockaway over the summer. My boyfriend has been living in Rockaway his entire life, and has ordered from Boardwalk Bagel for years. In the time that I’ve been here, I would say that my order has been messed up at least twice, my food has arrived cold at least 3 times and has arrived perpetually late countless times. I dealt with it because my boyfriend LOVES the cajun wing jammer, and orders from this place multiple times a week. Yes, a week. My experience today was the straw that broke the camel’s back for both myself, and my boyfriend. My boyfriend ordered food at 4:20pm today. He only had a limited time for it to be delivered until he had to leave for work at 6:20 pm. He waited and waited and waited for the food, yet nothing showed up. It got to the point where he couldn’t wait anymore and had to leave. Yes, I think he should have called after an hour, but I wasn’t the one waiting for the food. When I got out of work, he had told me about his situation. He didn’t feel like arguing with the people here, so he left for work, and let his father intercept the food once it arrives. When I arrived home from work at 6:40pm, I called Boardwalk Bagel, and asked for a manager. The girl that answered the phone paused for a while, and replied with an attitude, «Just a moment.» A woman named Grace answered the phone. I TRIED to explain my situation, but she interrupted me several times. She didn’t want to hear what I had to say, and stated that it was«impossible» that the food didn’t arrive by 6:20. She said that a different shift was working at the time when the order was placed compared to when I placed the call. Could it be that the order was placed during one shift, and the second shift didn’t see things through? Hmmmm. She didn’t want to take responsibility that somewhere down the line they messed up. She wanted to know if I wanted someone to come pick the food back up. Why, why would this help? I declined, and she said that she’d speak to the chef. I asked if she was the manager, to which she said that she wasn’t and they didn’t have one. She stated that she takes the orders, and answers the phone. She didn’t try to reconcile the situation, or restore my faith in Boardwalk Bagel. She said that next time it happens to give her a call and she’d take care of it right away. I’m sorry… there won’t be a next time. After reading the reviews for other people, it’s safe to say that I’m not the only one having these types of issues with delivery and service. To the owners: I hope you see this, and I hope you do some serious changes with the management, and staff of your establishment. It’s ruining your business, and driving loyal customers away.

Past few times service from the younger women who work there has been not-so-great. I called to put in an order about a week ago — was greeted with a very quick and annoyed-sounding«Hold On». That person called for someone named«Grace» for about 90 seconds. When she found«Grace», she asked her if she was going to the movies that night — clueless. I don’t mind waiting if I hear that the store is busy… but that was just annoying. I hung up and ordered from Belle Harbor Diner, The folks who are not teenagers/early 20s are always really nice and eager to help, but having them wait on you s the exception rather than the rule. I will say — the food rarely, if ever, disappoints — so for that reason they get 3 stars — 4.5 for food — 1.5 for service. May give it another chance, but hopfully this will be a wake-up call to management.

Solid bagel and sandwich shop with really tasty(albeit not terribly healthy) bagels, cream cheeses and sandwiches. They have a dizzying array of cream cheese and chicken salad options. I almost always give in to temptation with their varieties of chicken salad and then futilely attempt to make it healthier by getting it in a wrap. Don’t do this. Embrace the indulgence.

I live in Arverne By The Sea and drive to this place for some good bagels and coffee. Food is good but the staff seem to be unhappy of what they’re doing. They gave me the wrong food a couple of times but no apologies whatsoever. Also, I used to call ahead so I can just pick up my order but I still end up waiting there for 10 minutes. Again, no apologies whatsoever. Just a bunch of poker faces. Go to this place for the food but don’t expect good customer service or nice staff.

I thought these bagels was the best on the peninsula until I tasted surfside bagels on 95th street and then I realized what a real bagel is suppose to taste like. I’m not saying these bagels are horrible I’m just saying I tasted better. The line is always long at this place and the parking is crazy because it’s never any parking on the street because of the other businesses near by and all the summer bunnies that come and rent the bungalows near by. Plus it is very close to the boardwalk. If you live down in the 100ths I would say go a little further to 95th street and try surf side and compare the two for customer service and the way the shop is kept and of course the taste of the bagel and make your decision. Both is going to be a wait!!! Always a line!!! Good luck! PS my favorite is Rockaway bagel near 116th street.

I work Rockaway and as often as I can I stop into this shop. The people are splendid and the place is a thousand times cleaner than all the dirty delis on the boulevard. The food is fresh and the coffee is fine and they always get the order right. I especially recommend the lox.

I had to write a review on one person behind the counter, who takes the phone orders. YYes I agree that there arw very rude ppl answering the phones. But there is one women, and I wish I knew her name, who is so sweet and nice. The food, is ok, close tho, so convient. Seriously, she makes the experience so much nicer. She’s always pleasent and patient. Always has a positive attitude, and for that i write this review. So the next time you order from there and she calls you Miss… you will know who she is.

I used to live in this area, and would go here quite often. This place is no ordinary bagel shop… Some of the food is amazing. Me and my wife lived off of this place for a good two years. Their tuna salad is probably the best I have ever tried. Eisenberg’s in the city supposedly has the best tuna, but it doesn’t compare to this place. We would regularly get their Windjammer which was absolutely delirious, both Cajun and regular. Their grilled cheese is simple but good(great hangover food). Matter of fact, most of their specialty sandwiches were great. Their wings are also very good. Oh, and great bagels too. This place is in the middle of nowhere — but definitely check it out if you’re in the area.

Really good shop. I’ll definitely eat here every time I come to the beach. The sandwiches were really good, comes with a dill pickle, yayy. I had a turkey BLT… very good. The bagels looked yum, and they had a lot of options for cream cheeses… blueberry even, I dont see that often. People were pretty nice. Solid shop, I recommend it !
