Had the Just Right breakfast here every day this week while staying in Rock Island and was not disappointed. Got there around 6am and was the 1st person there most days — with breakfast delivered within about 5 – 10 minutes. Was especially impressed with my waitress on several of those days — Lovey. She loved the 80s music that played in the background each day, seemed to really love her job and took great care of me. She truly picked up my spirits and was a great way to start each morning!

I wasn’t expecting much more than what a chain restaurant would likely provide, but I was wrong. It was better. The host was a little more cheery than he needed to be.(Relax, kid; you don’t need to try so hard!) Our server, Alison, was pleasant, competent, and attentive. I wish I could recall the name of the young man who was training under her, because he is going to be good at this. I had the flatiron steak, and having cooked in restaurants before, knew to order it medium if I wanted it medium-rare.(You can always cook meat more, but you can never uncook it.) It was excellent with a satisfactory rice pilaf on the side. My spouse had the half rack of ribs and she was pleased with that. I shared some of the sauce which was positively outstanding — smoky sweet with just a smidgen of fire underneath. Does Bennigan’s make their own? If they don’t, I want to know where I can buy the stuff. Her fries were so-so, kind of pasty after they cooled off, but the coleslaw that came with it was excellent. I could taste the tang of the vinegar, the sweet of the sugar, and the eggy smoothness of the mayonnaise while crunching the crisp slivers of cabbage. I’d definitely give this place another try. By the way, it was eighties night on the jukebox — a blast from the past for me and we weren’t overwhelmed by the omnipresent boob tubes.

This place is where dreams of moderately priced greasy food go to die. Unfortunately I’ve been coming here every month for 6 years. Not by choice, but because my unit lodges us at the attached hotel. In the years I’ve been coming here I can count on one hand the number of times my food has arrived in less than 45 minutes. The place is constantly understaffed leading to long wait times, incorrect orders, and overall poor service. The servers try their best but it is the management’s fault for not adding more staff. They know exactly what days we are coming EVERYMONTH but fail to adjust. Tonight it took 30 minutes to get our order taken and an hour to get our food. Only two mistakes on the 5 orders this evening. Unless you are forced to eat here through your unit vouchers, you’re better off going across the street to the Chinese Kitchen and having screaming diarrhea.

Amazingly good. I didn’t have great expectations walking in. The gal seemed to be a little lost. It was about 5 pm. We were seated and greeted. I had the Cobb salad and hubby had the ribs. Over all it was a little pricey but the portions were big. Ribs were good and the salad was good too. I would have preferred the grilled chicken hot but it was ice cold. I ate it though :) Bartender held a piece of lemon bare handed, put it in a glass and added ice and water which was kind of gross. Made me think what the kitchen wears on their hands.

I live in East Moline so going to Rock Island to eat doesn’t happen often but I do go for the Monte Cristo or Big Irish, which both are two meals in themselves, wow! Their battered fish is also really good. The prices are pretty decent as well. Service has always been friendly and fast. My wife likes the drink menu!

Egg rolls weren’t too bad, Guinness beer was good, Reuben and fries sucked! Lotta meat on the sandwich though. Service was good and friendly

The food here is pretty good. Good variety of items. Service is pretty hopeless. if you can get a seat at the bar you can get waited on. anywhere else is a cap shoot. just sat there for 20 minutes and was not even acknowledged. there was not that many people there, and servers were all over. Walked out and ran into another diner… who was miffed also.

I have to say that the Friday fish fry is the best tasting fish I have ever had. We were there with our parents and kids Friday night. This is our 4th time eating here. I don’t know if they have a chef but they really do take pride in their food. It is served fresh, hot and pretty fast. I don’t like the fact that the hostess seats customers by which server is up, priority on tip placement. That does not keep me from going their, just don’t be so obvious. Why downtown Rock Island? If Bennigan’s was in a better location(parking) we would go much more often. This place does have some of the best food in the Quad Cities.

Great hosts to our huge Comedysportz group for a week. I didn’t drink, but the drink menu looked delicious. They were very helpful; loved the friendly service.

We went to a wedding in Rock Island over the weekend and ate here twice. The food was good and service was good. If you are staying in Holiday Inn and use the 20% discount make sure they apply to all meals on that ticket NOT just 1 meal per visit as 1 staffer told us. This is why the 3 stars due to misinformation to customers. The fish fry was good but a little to oily for my tastes. When you eat here you know about the quality and it is okay but not outstanding. I would eat here again as it was EZ in out and no driving.

Come here once a month on business and it’s like cheers… Everyone knows your name! Love Etta! Best bar manger there could be! She is hospitable and knows everyone. Food is good drinks are better. Holiday Inn gives coupons. What more could you want.

Average joint. Coupons were given to us upon checking into hotel next door. Benningans seem to be droppin like flies lately so I was lookin for a little extra umph on the menu… Negative ghost rider… Great appetizer choices, menu reminds me of Chilis… Nothing wowed me. Vodka and sodas were flowing…

It was attached to our hotel and as a platinum club member the hotel gave us several coupons and a free appetizer. It was getting late and the kids were hungry so we went in. All in all the meal and drinks were fine. The service was fine as well. With the coupons we saved at least $ 15(basically the tip). No real complaints. It was strangely empty for a Friday night, however after walking around it appears all the places were pretty much dead. Weird.

I was surprised to see a Bennigan’s since I had thought they all went out of business in the US. While staying at the Holiday Inn I noticed this restaurant and decided to check it out for lunch. Food was good and service was fast because it wasn’t very packed. We went again that evening for drinks and then the next morning for breakfast. Food was good and the wait staff was very friendly, especially the bartender who remembered us after the 1st time we were there. I would return if I was in Rock Island again

Ok so I was not going to even give this place a chance. I was running late from work and didn’t feel like venturing out so I gave them a shot. Place was empty at dinner time. Sure sign of bad food. Service was quick and prompt. I ordered a beer and burger because that felt like the safest route. Beer was cold, burger was hot and cooked to order(medium). Usually I order medium knowing it will still be over done. While it was probably medium plus, there was pink in the middle and it was juicy. I felt with all the bad reviews honest feedback should be given if the experience is good. I will try again on a future stay. Btw the holiday inn attached is also nicer than the reviews it gets.

My husband and I went for dinner tonight. I ordered a build your own burger with Cheddar cheese bacon bbq sauce and onion straws and asked for no pickles. When the food was delivered I had pickles covering my sandwich. I sent it back to me remade, waiting 20 minutes for it to come back out. It was 5:00 and the restaurant was empty. The second sandwich came out without pickles but was missing items. I asked for a manager. I wasn’t going to send it back a 3rd time as my husband was done eating already. Etta, the manager said everyone makes mistakes and the only way she was going to take money off our bill was if I didn’t eat the sandwich. She refused to apologize or make my meal right. I will never return to this restaurant. You are better off going somewhere else

We are staying at the Holiday Inn so Bennigans was convenient. Never again. We were at a parent session at Augustana so we got there late(around 8pm) with our young daughter. The place was virtually empty. Maybe three tables of people and two people at the bar. We walked in and were about to seat ourselves because there was no one at the hostess station. The woman behind the bar scolded us and told us to wait at the hostess station to be seated. We literally stood there for 5 minutes before someone came to seat us. They didn’t have any kids menus left so the woman who seated us said she would go get another one. 10 minutes later we had no drinks, no one had approached us and still no kids menu. When the server finally arrived she apologized for the delay and took a drink order. We ordered a beer and a glass of wine and my daughter ordered a glass of water. My husband asked what beers were on tap and the waitress actually said«I’m not sure because I don’t drink.» So she strained her neck to look at the tap to tell us what beers they had. Ten minutes later, still no drinks and our food orders hadn’t been taken. We had to ask her to get our drinks from the bar. Finally we order. I ask for a veggie burger and she says«you mean a turkey burger?» I said no a veggie burger and I pointed it out on the menu. Her response was that it was a new menu and she didn’t know they served veggie burgers. It probably took another 15 minutes to get our food. So by the time we start eating, it’s 8:45. The waitress tells us that she’s sorry for the delay but that she didn’t know she would be the only server that night. There were only THREE tables. And one of the other tables already had their food and the other was a table of one. How hard is it to manage three tables? My husband asked for another beer and the bartender yells across the restaurant that all of the alcohol has been locked up for the night, but that she could still pour a draft beer. Then my daughter asks one of the staff where the bathroom is and they tell her that they have locked them for the evening because they close at 9. We had to make them unlock the bathrooms. In the meantime, the staff is clearly trying to do all of their closing routines while people are still eating in the restaurant. Don’t waste your time or your money here. There are plenty of restaurants that will value your business more than this place.

Bennigan’s is definitely convenient if you are staying at the Holiday Inn, but the food is nothing special. It is standard bar food, and so they have a lot of appetizers and burgers/sandwiches. I tried the Southwest Eggs Rolls, which were pretty good, as well as the Quesadillas. One person in my party was a vegetarian and had a hard time finding a suitable option, but as long as you eat meat, you should be fine. All of that said, it is probably a better place to drink than to eat.

I spent a week at the attached Holiday Inn, and had at least 6 meals here. As long as you’re not in a hurry, it’s worth a visit. The food is good, the service is mostly friendly, but very slow.
