Mr. Avard Whelpley first opened his optical shop October of 1924 in the Seneca Hotel Arcade under the name A.E.Whelpley-Optician. Mr. John Paul joined him in July 1927 and the business became Whelpley & Paul Opticians. In 1968 Whelpley & Paul moved into the Midtown Plaza– the first covered mall in America, and in subsequent years several branch offices have opened. Currently we have four offices in Rochester and the surrounding area.
Whelpley and Pauls business was built on integrity, professionalism, and experience. All of our opticians are licensed to practice in the State of New York, and many have ownership in the company to ensure personal interest in patient satisfaction.
Eye exams are offered in all of our offices, as well as fashion eyewear and contact lens fitting, incorporating all of the latest technologies.
