History

Established in 1973.

For over 40 years, Vittorio Menswear & Tuxedo has been helping Rochester look good one tuxedo at a time. Founded by Vittorio Barbagallo, this business has been a family-​owned tradition for generations.

After Vittorio’s retirement, the tradition of style and customer service was passed to Matthew and Jennifer McDermott who have continued to grow and develop this business for future generations of prom-​goers, grooms and anyone needing just the right look for their special occasion.

Business Owner

Matt started in the clothing business, working part time in high school and college in a men’s shop in upstate New York. After attending St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY he worked for several local businesses but always had an interest in building a business of his own. When Vittorio Barbagallo mentioned that he was interested in retiring, Matt and his wife Jennifer decided that the time was right to purchase this business.

Matt values community service and the richness it brings to the Rochester region. He serves on the Board of Directors for NeighborWorks Rochester, the Advisory Committee for NextGen — an initiative for young professionals of the Rochester Area Community Foundation and Parish Council at St. Mary’s Church in Downtown Rochester.

Matt, Jennifer and their three boys reside in (and love) the Highland Park Neighborhood in Southeast Rochester.
