History

Established in 2007.

The Pod Drop is a privately owned company started on the premise of customer service. Frustrated with long lines only to be told to buy a new device because it couldn’t be fixed, the goal was to create an easier solution and bring it to the streets.

Since then, we have spent years building and maintaining outstanding relationships with our customers and the best sources and leading manufacturers for iPod, iPhone, and iPad parts, upgrades and accessories.

The Pod Drop now has customers across the country utilizing the website mail-​in service as well as multiple Metro-​Detroit store locations to serve local customer repair needs. We also have special relationships with other business retailers, educational institutions and insurance providers throughout the nation.

I came in yesterday to get the screen on my iPhone 6 Plus fixed while I was on my lunch break. I was told it would take about an hour and I asked if it could be done any faster if possible. I left and received a phone call 20 minutes later that it was done! Awesome service. I will definitely be returning here for my phone needs!

Worst Experience ever. Walked in and stood there for 8 minutes with no greeting, no resemblance of acknowledgement as a customer in this business. When I finally had enough and left, suddenly someone was available. Go to Lombardos on First at next to quick pick.

I have made numerous referrals to my friends and family and have heard excellent feedback. They also fix computers and have a done a fantastic job reviving my Mac.

If I could give this place no stars I would the are rude and unprofessional they don’t know how to help people and if they only know how to do iPhones and iPods don’t say you can fix a MacBook Pro and make me pay you 500 $ and give it back to me knowing it doesn’t work at all I’m never going back and I want my money back

Found out the joke was on me when I had to go back to this extremely hard to find shop. Cracked my iPad and my then new iPhone 6. Should have went to Apple. Found this place through Unilocal and was pretty happy. The manager or owner gave me cost which he spun it into a great deal since I was getting both the iPad and iPod fixed. I mentioned the 10.00 off promo through Unilocal and he said he would not honor it do to the great deal he was giving me. He suggested a shatter proof screen be installed on my phone so I forked over extra cash for that which was fine. Over 300.00 later And same day, I had my phone and iPad back and although expensive, they did a great job! Unfortunately my phone was dropped again and the screen cracked! I was sad that I had to go get it fixed but glad that I had the lifetime guarantee from the shop that if it ever shattered they would fix it for free. Went to the shop and the same guy looked at it and rambled off some high cost. I explained that he put the protective screen on and guaranteed it or there would be no future cost in fixing. I even brought along the original receipt. That’s when I felt like a fool! See, as he explained to me like a 5 year old, the protective screen did not crack, the glass underneath it did and the guarantee was for the screen only! Ugh! Since I try not to feel stupid on a daily basis I left. Apple basically treated my phone like a disease since a third party touched it. I found another repair shop down the road which was great! Prices way lower, honored the Unilocal discount and when I had another problem, they fixed the phone again no cost within a certain time frame. Lessons learned!

This was my second visit to this location. I’m so impressed with Rob, and his Staff. What a great job was done. First with my stylist that broke off inside of my iPhone. No Problem ! Taken care of, with No Charge !! You Won me over. A few weeks later, I noticed my laptop needed an antivirus update, and a check up. Since it hadn’t been in for over a year.

This shop is worth the trip from anywhere! The owner, Rob is super knowledgable and super honest. We took an old, used iPad 2 in to see if we should replace it. He completely updated the software and helped us set it up again for nothing! It’s like new! He is a straight shooter and really nice to boot. What more could you ask for!

I bought a new iPhone 6 only four days ago and managed to drop it on the cement and completely crack the screen. I called Apple and my carrier, but both led me through unhelpful and time consuming automated systems and quoted me $ 175 to replace the screen, plus three to four days in the shop. I heard about The Pod Drop from a friend and decided to check it out. I was quoted $ 159.99 and received immediate, friendly customer service. Above all, I only waited an hour to have the screen fixed. When I picked up my phone, one of the guys (I think his name was Rob) gave me $ 10 off because he felt bad that I had broken my screen after such a short span of time. Overall, the employees were awesome & helpful and my screen looks better than ever without costing me (a poor college girl) a lot of time or money. Thanks The Pod Drop, you guys rock! :-)

The owner Rob was super helpful when I went in with an minor iPhone issue. He helped me out before my minor issue became a big one. He was quick, let me know how to avoid cracking the glass, and gave me a worst case scenario in case I had to come back. I was in and out in 5 minutes, and he threw in a free case. Awesome customer service. Hopefully won’t have any other phone issues, but if I do I feel confident I’ll go back.

What a great experience! My puppy chewed my phone and cracked the glass. It was really bad and the contract on my phone wasn’t up for another year. I called the pod drop and they said they could get it done that day. I took it in and not only did they get it done but it was done earlier than expected. All of my questions were answered and they gave some great advice on cases so hopefully if the puppy gets it again it won’t be as badly damaged. Super friendly and all around great customer service. I will be sure to recommend them!

Some other local shops wouldn’t replace my IPad screen because the corner was bent. Not an issue here. They had mine repaired in two days as promised. And you would have to know where it had been damaged to notice the repair. I will go back to Pod Drop when the need arises.
