History

Established in 1987.

I began in my home with well-​attended craft shows, and a few years later began my gift shop at Miracle Mile Shopping Center where we are still located. Back in the ‘80s we carried a lot of country items, as did others in that era, but we have grown and changed with the exciting new items we find at markets across the country.

About 15 years ago my daughter Wendy joined me at The Mouse and we have enjoyed working side by side all these years, inspiring customers and each other with decorating ideas and traveling to gift shows together.

Wendy has brought a fresh approach to the store content and buys all the jewelry.

We call our staff members «Mice» and Wendy is the «Big Cheese» now as she owns the store. I’m «Mama Mouse.»

Working with my mom at The Mouse is such fun because we like all the same things. We are always redecorating an area of the store as new items arrive.

My background is as a buyer with large corporate retail stores, and I traveled all over the world as a handbag buyer and designer. But after I had children it was nice to settle back into Rochester where I was raised and where my family is.
