History

Established in 2013.

Robert King began his career at a leading civil defense firm. He transitioned to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, handling an average of approximately 2,000 misdemeanor cases yearly. Mr. King successfully prosecuted hundreds of cases through trial, including Driving While Intoxicated, Assault, Possession of Controlled Substances, and Harassment.

During his time with the DA’s office, Mr. King was promoted to the Special Victims Unit, where he was charged with the responsibility of prosecuting the most sensitive cases, such as domestic violence and child abuse, and took more than 20 of these cases to jury verdict.

Next he entered private practice, and has since built a reputation as one of the leading criminal defense attorneys in Rochester, with a long track record of cases including misdemeanors and felonies taken to a successful result through trial, plea bargain or dismissal.

As a former prosecutor, Attorney King has experience on both sides of the courtroom and can prepare his clients’ defense strategies accordingly.

During his time as a prosecutor, Mr. King had the privilege of knowing a number of excellent defense attorneys. He envied their freedom to go to war for one person — their client. As a result, he made the switch to criminal defense and has dedicated himself to protecting the rights and freedoms of his clients ever since.
