History

Established in 2009.

We’ve been part of the South Wedge community for over 5 years. We live in the neighborhood and believe in supporting local organizations. We use paid advertising in community newspapers such as The Wedge, The South Wedge Quarter, The Empty Closet, and City Newspaper to bring awareness to the community about the health benefits of massage therapy. We support LGBT organizations such as ImageOUT Film Festival and the Rochester Gay Men’s Chorus.

We operate out of a properly zoned building — not a front room. We pay taxes as a commercial property. We hold liability insurance. We hold current massage therapy licenses from the State of New York Education Department. We are professional and consistent in our massage therapy and our business.

Business Owner

Born in England to working-​class Irish parents Colin was educated north of London and graduated from the University of Sussex in 1987. He graduated with an MBA from the University of Houston, Texas in 1996. In 2008 he passed New York State Licensing exams to practice legally as a Licensed Massage Therapist and in 2009 started Renewing-​Massage. For over 5 years he has provided high quality, high value, community-​focused massage therapy services. He specializes in what massage therapists are licensed to do by the State of New York to work with you (where medically appropriate) to help to reduce stress and improve circulation, muscle tone and function using scientifically developed massage techniques.
