I was going to let this go but after thinking about it and talking to others I discovered that this has happened before and I don’t want others embarrassed like we were With company in from out of town we decided on Italian. We did a call ahead and we were seated immediately. We gave our waitress our entire order because we were on a timed schedule. Our drinks and appetizers came and we were told our dinner would be out shortly. It was a hour and five minutes from the time we ordered for our dinner to arrive and only then because we had complained about how long it was taking. When we started to eat one dish was cold, the cheese had already harden. The other macaroni dishes were luke warm. When the waitress returned we asked for our bill told her we did not want to take anything home. There was no apology for the cold food nothing $ 160+ dollars later we walked out and will never return again.

Had 7:00 reservation for 24 people we confirmed 2x and waited 1 hour before we were seated. Soups were good, bread plentiful, salad was greens, 3 croutons, 1 cheery tomato swimming in salad dressing. Main was chicken Marsala with eggplant on top, can’t remember entrée name. Was very sweet. Side of gnocchi was silky and tasty. Food service was good, drink service not so much.

We went for Thanksgiving with our friends. Decorations are very nice but it is all about Christmas, unfortunately. I thought they could decorate it as Thanksgiving and after change it for Christmas. The owner is very nice and he was making sure everybody was happy. About food: I understand it is all about Thanksgiving traditional dishes but they could add some salads and more options for«light» eaters. For me there was almost nothing to eat but basic salad they served for each table an corn with olives and cut melon. Turkey was really dry and another option of meat was really«raw» for me. Unfortunately, service was not really good. They NEVER refilled my iced tea(but I was trying to get any attention from our waitress). Also they charged us for beer we never ordered. It took forever to get the check as well as to pay for it. Overpriced for what we got. Maybe it is actually a very good restaurant but I went only once there and this is the experience I’ve got.

We’ve been coming here for years and it is very good. But my biggest gripe here and any other Italian joint is where is the warm thick crusty bread! The Brookhouse house used to have very good bread as I just described but now they have thinly sliced, COLD(well, room temperature) bread. There’s nothing more disappointing then going to an Italian place and not getting warm bread. But overall we still love this place. I get the chicken salad every time I go. It is filled with mushrooms tomatoes, croutons and cucumbers(I don’t eat cucumber so I leave them off). The chicken has a very tasty marinade on it and it comes with a balsamic crumbly blue dressing. If you like a chicken salad this will be the best one you’ve ever had. Yes, I know, I eat a salad at an Italian restaurant. My boyfriend got the lollipop lamb chops and absolutely loved them. It came with a side of vegetables and onion rings as garnish(which was kind of weird) and it also came with a soup or a salad. You can’t make reservations here but they do have call ahead seating. The owner, Red, is always walking around and being very social with his guests. We will continue coming here but they need to change their bread back !!!

Just went there with my gf. New to the area so we are exploring. First if all pasta was generic, tastes like out of a can sauce. No original flavor. As a young mid twenties couple we felt a little uncomfortable since it was packed with seniors. Im sure you can find better place to eat pasta. For price you pay it is not worth it

I just ate at Red’s tonight. We were a group of 9 which people sometimes struggle with, but our server was excellent. Everyone was very happy with their meals. This is the only place my aunt will eat tripe! I love that Red comes around and greets every table. Most owners don’t do that, but it makes me feel like my business is appreciated!

Food is delicious! I had moved out of the area ten years ago and recently was home visiting with my husband. I wanted to take him to the Brookhouse because when I did live in the area it was my favorite restaurant. Not much has changed! It was exactly how I remembered it. I love that Red still visits tables and is such a warm, friendly man. My husband absolutely loved his veal parm. I had chicken french which was out of this world. Great place!

Meh. I’ve had some great meals here, and I’ve had some crap meals. Sometimes it’s very bland. I’m not really one for just red sauce & pasta. If you aren’t, don’t both here because 90% of the menu is covered in it. They’ve also screwed up my meals a few times/are slow with service occasionally, but they’re all very very sweet here.

Nobody believes that before last night I’d never been. Now after last night, I can see why they were in disbelief! Started with the calamari, delicious. It’s serves«Sicilian» style with the banana peppers and olives and a little tomato. Very good and not rubbery. Also had greens and beans. Very flavorful and the beans weren’t mushy, spot on. Dinner for me was the Rigatoni Asiago. I tend to not order dishes out that have red sauce, but this was unbelievable. Sauce is perfect. Not too acidic. Had REAL Asiago cheese on it as well. I have been places before that try and say something is what it is when in fact it’s not. We shared a piece of chocolate peanut butter pie. So perfect. Was surprised there weren’t more Italian like desserts available. But that would not STOP me from dining here again. And Red goes around to every table and talks to the patrons. A class act!

Wow how the mighty have fallen… Not the quality of days gone by, not by a long shot… There was a time when you said Fedele’s it ment a great night of dinning but that has changed to a place that is just hanging on to a memory of what was… And the folks who remember the glory days are also dying off and thus the future of this once great restaurant are verging on the edge of extinction…

I’m going to make this short and sweet best Chicken Parm in the area. Service is always great and the owner makes you feel at home. Only complaint I have is they took the smaller portion chicken parm off the menu.

My wife and I had dinner tonight and the food was delicious. My wife had Haddock French and I had Chicken Parmesan. This was the largest chicken parmesan I’ve had in a restaurant. Our waiter came to the table within a few minutes after we sat down and was very friendly. Their Italian bread and salad are good. If you go on a weekend night get there early because it gets very busy. They don’t take reservations but have call ahead seating.

Fedele’s has forever been my go to place for good Italian food. It’s always been the closest thing to my grandparents sauce that I have ever tasted! My fiancé and I used to go here at least once a month. Over the last year, I felt that their food quality dropped dramatically. I almost always ordered the chicken parm and I am super picky about my meat. I always felt like the chicken was of very good quality. The last 3 times we ate there, I always ordered the chicken parm(yes I know. I’m unoriginal and I’m a creature of habit, what can I say?) and I was actually kind of grossed out. The sauce didn’t taste the same at all and the chicken in both the chicken pastina soup and the chicken parm seemed to be just… not great. The chicken in the soup was of a very fatty consistency(which just absolutely turns my stomach) to where I couldn’t even eat it. The chicken parm was much the same and I ended up picking most of it apart because I was worried it wasn’t cooked. Also, their bread just wasn’t the same– it seemed hard and stale. This actually prevented my fiancé and I from coming back for some time and going to Ricci’s instead. Tonight, we were passing by Fedele’s and decided to give it another shot. I ordered simple linguine with red sauce and asked them to add mozzarella to the top and a meatball. My fiancé ordered the haddock French and we both skipped the soup and opted for salad. Everything was perfect– my linguine was al dente, my meatball was delicious and the sauce was great. His haddock drench was also great– light and delicious. Let’s hope that those poor experiences were just a bump in the road, because this restaurant is fantastic when it’s on point!

I went there for dinner a couple of years ago and didn’t remember how I felt about it… I went back recently — for lunch — with my mom. She had a special Yankee Pot Roast and a coup of chicken noodle soup. She loved them both. I had cheese ravioli with red sauce. It was acceptable, but the sauce was a little vinegary, which I didn’t expect. The ambiance is fine, traditional. The lunch menu was affordable… Limited, and a little weird, but fine. The service left much to be desired. The young man kept us waiting a very, very long time for everything. After about 10 minutes at the table without being greeted, I went up to the front desk to make sure we had a server. He was nice and friendly once he showed up tho.

I like the pasta. They have pasta. It tastes good. Mac and cheese is also a good pasta, as well as the ziti, that’s good too! Chicken is good as well, this restaurant has chicken french. I like chicken. And pasta, but want to know what you can do to make your experience better? Get pasta… ANDASKFORCHICKENWITHIT! That would make your mouth explode with flavor. But no vanilla ice cream. ;_;

You can’t go wrong with the food at the Brooke House. I really enjoyed the chicken pastina soup. I had Chicken Angelo for dinner and it was amazing! The French sauce is like no other! As a table we also ordered calamari for an appetizer and it was perfect! We did wait about 20 minutes for our table, which goes to show you the demand for this restaurant on a Monday evening. Our server was attentive and pleasant. As a party of five, I was unhappy with our seating arrangements. They put all give of us in a four person booth with one person on the end of the table, and I just happened to be the one sitting at the end of the table which made me feel like I was in the way of the servers but also left me feeling removed from the table conversation. The holiday décor was beautiful and it’s always nice when Red stops by the table to check in! Keep serving the amazing food!

Good Lord, I love this place. A friend of mine grew up near it and suggested we try it for dinner one night years ago. Since then, this is where we ALWAYS meet up for dinner and I always want to force people into coming here with me. The location is convenient and a pretty good size. the décor inside is a little dated but gives a home feel. The wait staff is always attentive and always go above and beyond for us. The food could be a little expensive depending on what you get but it is always worth it. This is one of the rare places that I come and always try something new. I have had a large handful of the dishes and they are always amazing. Red is always walking around mingling with is customers and making sure they are pleased. Overall, this place is great. Always great food and great company and great staff/owner. I will continue to come here at every chance I get.

We love Red’s. The red sauce is excellent, the calamari, clams and tripe apps are GREAT. I love the seared scallops and when you can get it on special, try the stuffed peppers. My guy has actually peeked in the kitchen and he says its very clean. Nice plus, huh? I wish they would change out the corny décor but then again, it touts itself as a family run restaurant and so it sort of lends itself to being genuine and unpretentious. Red always makes the rounds to make sure everyone is happy. Careful girls. He likes to give out kisses. The only bad thing I can say is that they often serve big groups and if your order gets in behind one you’ll be waiting. Its worth it though. Enjoy.

I was at Red Fedele’s Brookhouse for my sister’s baby shower. The review is reflective of my experience at the special event and not indicative of what dining in the main dining room may be like. The first thing I noticed is that the staff were extremely attentive. They were always easy to find when we had a question, and acted very professionally throughout the entire experience. We had a problem where more people showed up than had RSVPed. While we had a mini panic trying to figure out if we needed to have an extra table brought in, the staff were great with reassuring us and even went to get additional table settings as we waivered back and forth between«YES, WENEEDMORETABLES!» to «Oh, never mind. I think we’re all set». How annoying for them! But, they handled it with poise and grace. The food was pretty good, and extremely reasonably priced. We got muffins, eggs, fruit, bacon and sausage, french toast, ziti and chicken for about $ 12 a person. No other restaurant even came close to this price. One thing I didn’t like is that we had a salad before this buffet meal. It felt a little weird to eat a salad before eggs and french toast — but I’m sure we had control over the menu(I didn’t pick the menu items, so this might have been requested. Still strange though). I also thought it took a bit of time to get the buffet items out into the chafers. We were an hour into the shower before the food came out. This could have been because we sent the wait staff running around for extra place settings all morning, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. All in all, the food was A-ok, and the experience was pleasant. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to host a catered event at a restaurant!

I tried calling to make a reservation for dinner today for 3 people, only to be told they don’t take reservations. Yet, when we arrived, there was a reservation list on the Hostess’ stand that was completely full for tonight’s dinner service. So if they don’t take them, why the list? The three of us ordered off the pasta menu, my wife had the broccoli and macaroni, my mother had one of the two specials, shrimp and broccoli with linguine, and I had the lasagna. My pasta was cooked perfectly, too bad the sauce was disappointing. Not much flavor, and tasted no different than what you could buy in a jar. The ricotta filling was bland and dense, as was the small amount of meat in the sauce. The Italian wedding soup was barley warm, and I sent it back to be heated more, and it came back still just barely warm. My wife’s dish was swimming in water, that tasted as though it was used to cook the broccoli in. No seasoning, pasta was over-cooked and bland. Only flavor you could taste was the broccoli. My mother’s dish was the shrimp and broccoli with linguine, in a garlic butter sauce. The pasta was swimming in the butter, loaded with too much garlic, and not reduced at all. It was like they dumped a gallon of oil into the pasta bowl it was served in, and added the food. Not very appealing to look at, and just awful in flavor. Not really impressed with this place at all. An older gentlemen, I assume was the owner, stopped by just as our server was delivering our entrees, and immediately began leaning on my shoulder like I was a lamp post or something. No introduction to us as to who he is. He asked how the food was, but as I said, it had just been delivered to us when he came over, and we hadn’t had a chance to taste it yet. He said he would have to stop by in a bit to see what we thought, but I am glad he didn’t because I am not a lamp post. Drinks, I had a draught, my wife had a bloody Mary that was lacking on the alcohol, my mother had a white zin, which she enjoyed very much. Needless to say, this was not a very good dining experience for us, and we will not be returning again, nor will we recommend this place to anyone. Trust me, I believe 30% of people who don’t really cook at home, could have done a much better job at home. Service was not that fantastic either. Normally I leave 20% of the total bill with tax, but I only left double the tax. Well he was friendly and pleasant after all.
