Kimi K Salon & Spa

Kimi K Salon is an extremely professional, but warm and inviting environment. The salon is very clean, beautifully decorated and in a great location in Downtown Rochester. If you are coming for a massage or facial, the best part is it the spa is located upstairs. You will hear no blow dryers or noise just peaceful quiet music. This makes the experience so relaxing– it feels like a getaway!
The staff is always friendly when you call for an appointment. Waiting is minimal and they do their best to accommodate your schedule. Christina is the manager and really knows how to run a business. She goes out of her way to make sure your experience is nothing short of the best. Not to mention she does great eyebrows, facials and hair! What I love the most as a client is I feel like she is honest about products and what works for me. I have had many services here and it always feels so personal. I feel this is what the salon experience SHOULD be. Christina is conscientious and really goes the extra mile. Worth every penny!

I love the people who work here, the staff are professional and kind. The salon is very clean and stocked with professional products. I have been coming to Kimi K’s for years, since I found Sue, she does a great job and I look great!

I have been going to Kimi K for years now– ever since they were at their previous location.
Rudina is an incredible stylist. She has been cutting my hair for years, and having someone else cut it just feels wrong. She always asks what I want, and she ever so slightly modifies it and makes it work for my face shape. I have never come home disappointed after a haircut.

I have gotten my nails done here once or twice; For a basic manicure it was good, just a nice solid color– nothing mind blowing.
I have not gotten my makeup done here, as I always seem to forget that it’s a service that they offer, but I think that’s something I will try next time when I’m back in town.
I have gotten a blow-​out for a wedding reception (by Rudina, of course, as she knows my hair) and it looked fantastic. I got many compliments, and it lasted all night after lots of sweaty dancing.
I have not gotten my hair colored/​highlighted/​low-​lighted/​etc. I have seen many women and men get their hair colored here and it always looks great, though I have never experienced it first-​hand.
Kimi K is an incredible professional salon where you will feel comfortable and you won’t be breaking the bank. I highly recommend Kimi K (and stylist Rudina) to anyone looking for a new salon/​stylist.

I had been looking for a hair salon for a while when I visited Kimi K salon a couple of years ago. I was and am so impressed with the stylist and salon. Rudina has been the best stylist I have ever had. She knows exactly what will look good on me. And she has taught me how to do my hair «almost» as good as she can do it. The salon is beautiful and clean, everybody is always super friendly and nice. Prices are very reasonable for how wonderful I feel when I leave there.

Just had the best facial EVER! I’ve had one before and the experience left me feeling like facials weren’t all that great. I was so pleasantly surprised and wrong when I had today’s facial. Christina was amazing and I would highly recommend her and this salon for services.
The atmosphere of the salon was also very nice, and the front desk staff were kind and helpful, despite answering many phone calls and tending to other business.

Love this salon. Stylists are very friendly and sweet. Sue is wonderful! Very creative and amazing stylist. My kids fight to go first when coming to this salon to get their hair cut by Sue. Fantastic atmosphere too! You will totally relax and may fall asleep! Christina is the person to see if you want your brows done, she does a wonderful job.

Lindsay did an amazing job on my cut and highlights. I had 100% brown hair and she added blonde highlights which gave my hair so much more depth and shine. Lindsay has a lot of experience and has a ton of knowledge. She gives it to you straight on what will and won’t be good choices for your hair. :)

Their hair stylists do not know how to work on Asian hair, even tho the owner is Asian herself! I went in to get my hair dyed in one tone, with 3 – 4 inches of dark roots. Before the process, the hair stylist did not tell me that it would be impossible to dye my hair all in one tone, which is false because I’ve had this done to me numerous times with my hair stylist down in Orlando.
They used loreal, INOA on my hair, which I paid $ 80 for. Afterwards, my roots only came out half dyed while the rest of my hair took in the new color. I expressed my dissatisfaction immediately, and the hair stylist insisted that it was only the lighting that casted the shadow… Really?! They think they can fool their customer?!
I made another appt two days later to have the stylist fix my hair. I wanted her to use the same color and apply it to the sections that were still dark. She told me that only solution is to highlight my hair or bleach it. I told her absolutely NOT! The owner came and started telling me the same thing. The stylist said she will not dye my hair again because the coloring is so expensive and its a waste of her time! The owner told me the it was my fault for waiting this long to get my roots dyed! I was completely shocked how irresponsible and obnoxious they were to me, the customer!
The owner insisted to color my hair to darker color, because hair would take dark color easier. But that’s not what I wanted. They know they messed up but would not admit to it, in addition to blaming it on the customer!
At the end, the owner and stylist had me sign a silly hand-​written waiver (so unprofessional) claiming that they will do as I asked and if the results are not favorable, they are not responsible. Fine, I signed it… So the stylist used the same color and applied it to the dark sections, as I suggested. And guess what, the results were a lot better. It’s not perfect, but at least my hair is not obvious being in two-​tone anymore.
This salon is great when all things go well with the customer, but when issues occur, they won’t step up to it to fix the problem. I’m surprised even the owner was like this!
I will NEVER go to this salon again, and would strongly encourage all my Korean and Asian friends to stay away!
They are in a service industry and completely forgot what they do is a living testimony and model of their brand and people. Did the stylist even think that if she was reluctant to fix my hair, my bad hair coloring would speak for the salon for months to come!!! The customer paid GOOD money for their service, and in return, they don’t fess up to their mistakes. POOR CUSTOMERS SERVICE!

My daughter and I both have our hair done by Jennie. She is so sweet and does a fabulous job, especially with my highlights. Fantastic atmosphere, too!

I’m soooooo bummed. My hubby wanted me to get a cool pedicure to show off all my cute sandals and it really just wasn’t up to snuff for an upscale salon. I don’t think it was the salon itself, just my nail tech. First, my feet are in good shape, it’s not like she needed to transform a hot mess. She even commented about how I don’t have any caluses at all. I tell her off the bat that I was just there for a cool design. She’s like oh no, I don’t do anything like that, I don’t know how! What??? You’re kidding, right. So I had to get a boring color I could have done myself at home. I paid $ 75 for boring nails. W t f. Second, they don’t ask what you want, they just assume you want a mega spa treatment. Aggravating. Then, I find out that the other tech is some amazing nail artist. Couldn’t she have passed me off to someone who knew how? I’m so pissed. I’m watching all these other women get these amazing things and I’m getting boring nothing.

Christina is amazing. There are many salons in my area but, I make the trek out to Rochester. The front desk staff is great and efficient, if you want amazing brows be sure to see Christina.

Saw Jen for a conditioning treatment and a blow out. She is so sweet and fun to talk to. My hair was soft and bouncy and looked great for two days after. Go see Jen if you need a little pick me up for a day or night out.

I went there 2 times and got inconsistent haircuts. First time was on a weekday, wasn’t very busy and so it took her an hour (include wash) to cut my thin straight bob. The cut was okay. 2^nd time was on a busy Saturday. It took her 30 mins (include wash) and my hair is uneven, shaggy and ugly. It literally is thin on one side and thick at the other. My bang and side was cut too short so it looks like I have no hair. I don’t think I I will give it another try. Time to find a new salon for my thin straight asian hair.

I went there yesterday and the hair cut was very bad. No layers, no styles. She didn’t let me see the back. When the hair cut was first finished, I wasn’t impressed already, when I got home, saw the back, I totally regret going there. My hair looked just like there are so many uneven tufts of hairs! Ahhhhhh!!! Very ugly, no smooth lines and no beauty.

Christina does a fantastic job for brow waxes. She is very professional and friendly.

I have been coming here since I was a kid and this is my favorite salon. The salon is very posh and has a relaxing environment. The people are also really friendly.
My stylist is Rachel and she is wonderful. I never leave unsatisfied and my hair always leaves looking great. My favorite part is getting my hair washed since its so relaxing.
