Hair Studio 52 & Day Spa

Had Tammy. She took her time, showed me a new trick and I walked out with a good cut! Going back in a couple weeks for color.
Went back and walked out wiser but poorer. Perhaps Tammy can only cut hair. When I went back with photos of what I wanted for color, the same photos I had when I got the cut, I was assured it would and could be done. I had, had this color before. Well, I walked out looking like an Easter Egg. Bright and colorful… No highlights throughout… and stained face, ears and neck.
I could have done this bad of job at home and saved $$$$.
If you need a cut… I guess you can go there, if you want color RUN AWAY!

My wife made a schedule weeks in advance. Showed up and was informed she didn’t have the appointment. It was her fault. Her hair stylist called and left a message saying she was sorry but that stuff happens all the time. Won’t go back!

This place is awesome! Frankie is a pro at doing hair. If you need a massage see Jenna! If you need a facial see Erica! Those are my faves. All the staff are so amazing. Top of their game.

Visiting from Cincinnati, my husband and I both scheduled men’s facials for the day of our wedding. Miranda was highly skilled at doing the facials and massage — although it was my first facial ever, it felt so good I plan to schedule one monthly in the future. Service was so good I decided to get a trim while waiting for my husband, which turned into more of a full haircut. Sara Lynn was fun and professional, squeezing me in without an appointment! All in all a great experience, and we received numerous compliments at the wedding. I regret not being able to commute to Hair Studio 52 from Cincinnati (700 mi away) ;)

I went for a haircut and found Heather to be truly amazing. She takes her time and is not in a rush. Really skilled. Would highly recommend her.

I like the «spa» side of things — Erica is an AMAZING aesthetician. I come about weekly for various waxing (which is magically painless when she does it) and I have enjoyed her specialized facial tailored to my skin type. I’ll go a long distance to get good quality services, but I won’t be getting my hair done here again. I like Aveda products and scalp massages during shampooing.
Why I won’t come back for my cut/​colors though is the lack of customer service I received on the salon side of things. After returning 3 – 4 times and being happy with the stylist I had found a good rapport with, I called to ask if I could move my upcoming appointment sooner. I learned that she had left the salon and moved away. Fine, people move, but I asked «if I showed up for my appointment in 2 weeks would anyone have warned me?» And no one had a good answer. They accommodated me then and I tried a new stylist, and she realized the first one hadn’t been writing the various color shades I’d been trying during the year. She did a great job and blended my highlights naturally. Great. New stylist that I’ll be happy with. Right?
Wrong! Remember how I said I come to see Erica weekly? Well this stylist sees me every time and when I say hi, she just stares blankly as if she hasn’t ever seen me before. I tried 3 times to get a bang trim with her, and it could never be worked in. I’m not sure, but I’m betting it would not have been complimentary. All other salons I’ve gone to over the years say «come on in whenever you need a bang trim and they’re free; and if I’m not here, any of the stylists can do it for you». There seems to be way too many hair stylists and there seems to be high stylist turnover. I got lucky at another salon in town, thankfully. With better prices too.
I’ll drive to see Erica — but I’ll get my hair done elsewhere.

I’ve had a mani and a pedi from Charity several times and I loved the way they look each time. She is one of my favorite nail techs in Rochester!

I have not been to any other spas or hair salons in Rochester, nor do I care to try any now that I’ve found this place. It is fab. Classy, professional, and the perfect place to go for pampering. Not for your cheap cuts. Hair cut comes with a delicious scalp massage. Aaaah. It was also one of the best cuts I’ve had. I only get my hair cut once a year and I like to really make it count. I used one of the spa packages here and I felt like the price was very reasonable considering I got a manicure, pedicure, facial, massage, and paraffin wax for my hands. It was such a dreamy experience I briefly considered becoming a member of their spa services club… before I remembered I have student loans to pay.
