DBI Properties is a major multi-​family management company with about 1,600 apartment homes located throughout Upstate New York.

In 1962, a company called Décor Builders Inc. began building residential multi-​family communities in the Rochester, New York Area. The company was owned by two brothers — George and Richard Bierworth. In the decade that followed, the company became one of the largest single– and multi-​family home builders in Monroe County.

In 1969, the company broke ground on one of Rochester’s first planned developments: Stoney Creek. This popular community offered a mix of 350 single-​family homes for sale and the 534-​unit Stoney Creek Apartments. This community is still part of DBI’s portfolio. In the 1970s, the company developed another important community, North Glen Apartments. This community is also still part of the DBI portfolio and is one of Rochester’s most popular apartment communities. Built in 2013, The Villas at Carriage Glen is the newest DBI community.
