Enjoyed the service and food. Casual but clean restaurant. Drunken noodles with chicken was delicious. Prices were reasonable. I missed getting the coconut ice cream since I was full — guess I will have to go back!

This was my first time eating Thai food and I was really impressed. The server was really friendly and attentive and the food was full of flavor. I will definitely be heading back to Churi’s!!!

Pad thai was amazing! The waitress was very friendly and the food was really quick. It looked like they do a lot of take out for business but we sat down and it was very clean and nice. I think this is a lot hidden gem in the area. I will Def go back soon.

I know I just wrote a review a few weeks ago, but I’ve had their food delivered twice to work for meetings, and Mark is just so pleasant to work with. I’ve called with less than 24 hours before the meeting and he has come through every time! The food is always hot, packaged perfectly, his delivery is prompt; just wonderful. Thank you Mark — the food is always a hit and you make it so easy!

Pleasant meal with attentive service. Very generous servings. The spring rolls were fresh and«huge». I enjoyed the phat prik khing and my husband said his pad thai was also good. Happy to find good Thai food in this part of town. I’ll be back.

The food is inconsistent, sometimes is great and then horrible next(we suspect it’s great when the mother cooks, every time we see her it’s good). Just called for take out and although they are open until 9 they closed the kitchen at 7:50. And this has happened the last 3 times we’ve attempted to eat here, the hours they keep do not line up with what is posted or online. While we love Thai food we have given up on this place. Its a wild card if they will even serve you when you show up or if the food will be any good or just a greasy mess. Not worth the trip, rather drive downtown or better food

THAIWITH A TWIST! We heard this place had a history of serving excellent Thai food, and the good reputation is well-deserved. Though many of the dishes had familiar names, the flavors were anything but«same old, same old.» The use of spices and presentation was truly artful. It’s clear that the owner and the chef(his Mom) CARE!!! Friendly, attentive and quick service! We will definitely put Churi’s in our rotation!!!

Like other reviewers, my wife and I were big fans of Churi’s when it was at the Sea Breeze location. We are so glad that they opened their new location. The food there is simply great — fresh ingredients, great flavoring and sauces. How good? My wife and I lived in Chicago for over 10 years and tried lots of different Thai restaurants. While we may have had some Thai food that is as good as Churi’s, we never had anything better than the food at Churi’s — in either location. Last time we got dinner there we had the Panang Curry with chicken and the Drunken noodles with chicken. Both were hot(in both senses of the word) and fresh. The small staff — from owner on down — are really friendly and welcoming hosts. Great place for dining in or take-out. I’ve already suggested the profile add«wheelchair accessible» to the profile. Access is better than average — curb cut in location not likely to be accidentally blocked, wide entrance with easy to open door and enough space between tables to make it pretty easy for wheelchair users and other people with mobility impairments to navigate.

Food was pretty standard for Thai cuisine. Pad thai was good but a little greasy. Masaman was yummy. Peanut chicken dish was also tasty. Bubble tea was so-so. Service was excellent. We came with a couple small kids. The waitress was very attuned to bringing their food out quickly so they would not fuss. She also brought extra napkins without being asked. It is the little stuff that really helps out when dining with kiddos. I really appreciated her!

Churi this can’t be the best Thai food in Rochester? Well yes, in fact, it can, and don’t call me Churi. What to get: Thai Tea and Green Curry with Chicken or Shrimp What else: Mr. Flipping Pessimist. We could all get struck by lightning and die. And don’t forget there might be a plague outbreak. I notice you didn’t tell Mr. Border Patrol man about hugging Ebola patients in Sierra Leone. And never the twain shall meet. Why can’t we meet Mark Twain: I have no idea. I’ve put this question to the courts, and the Judge and Churi have spoken, and this is the best Thai place in the 585. Granted, I haven’t tried all of them, but there are 4 reasons why this place is a must-try for anyone in the 585 who likes Thai food. (1) It’s delicious. The Green Curry is smooth and flavourful and exactly what you want from Thai curry. (2) The Thai Tea is the best I’ve tried in the 585, and I’ve tried a dozen or so of them. It’s a decent portion, it’s not too expensive, and most importantly it tastes delicious rather than tasting like chemicals. (3) The prices are competitive although not dirt cheap and they don’t have lunch special prices, but you can’t have everything. (4) Service is wonderful. These are some of the friendliest people running a restaurant that I’ve come across in Rochester. So whether you’re a British politician’s wife(Churi Blair) or a Mexican guy who has food named after him(Jimmy Churi), this is the place for you.

Best Thai in the area! Food is always tasty, quality is consistent. Truly friendly family owned restaurant we are happy to support. We eat here or take out at least a couple times a month. Our favorites are the Siam Spicy Noodles and phat prit king as well as the Thai Noodle Soup. Also, try the coconut ice cream!

I find the food here absolutely amazing and fresh. I love the owners who always spend extra effort in being super polite and check in often to make sure the food is good. The atmosphere here does leave something to be desired, and it would be nice if it were a classier exterior and interior, but we need to take into account how expensive it is to run a restaurant, and how humble and normal the owners are. Not everyone in this world feels the need to go for high end fancy napkins and brand new furniture. Their prices are cheap and the menu is small, but everything comes with great flavor and good service. This to me more than makes up for the lack in atmosphere, making this restaurant an excellent choice.

Absolutely delicious! The portions are larger than the Thai places I am used to from NJ and PA. And the prices are cheaper. Thai iced tea, red curry with fried tofu, and pork pad see ew were all delicious. If I lived in the area, I would definitely return.

I have never had such an intense sweet flavor of tom yum soup before because it is supposed to be a balance between sweet & sour… Instead, the food here tastes like a bowl of straight sugar and I have an extremely sweet tooth. However, I will never order from here again because I’ll probably end up getting diabetes.

We had five people at dinner and everyones meal was fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful in suggesting meals and of course the BYOB is always a plus. Extremely flavorful, we will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

The Papaya Salad was EVERYTHING! I’ve never been to The Coconut Tree before, but decided to give them a try while« Unilocaling» at a near by appointment. Now granted, I’ve only had Loas styled papaya salad once before, which was made by a wonderful Loas family. So with that said, I am by no means an expert on Thai/Loas cuisine. The papaya salad is considered an appetizer on the menu, which seems fitting. I called to place my order for pick up and when I arrived 10mins later, I was kindly greeted by a server and my food bagged and ready to go. While ordering I was asked if I preferred the salad mild or spicy. That was extremely considerate for the staff to ask, as this salad is known to be VERY spicy. So naturally I chose spicy(go big or go home-right)!!! The salad was cool, crisp, sweet, salty, slightly fishy, garlicky, and SPICCCCCY! I absolutely love every bite! Oh yeah, there’s no way that I could down the nice sized portion in one sitting(due to the heat. Again, by request). I enjoy eating 4 or 5 spoonfuls then walking away lol. If you have an adventurous palate, this appetizer is for you! Kudos to The Coconut Tree. I’ll definitely be back for the Papaya Salad.

I’m on the fence between 2 or 3 stars and since I didn’t have a horrible experience, I rounded up to 3 stars. Improvements: The pad thai was disappointing. It was more saucy/oily than I am accustomed to and the flavor was too sweet for my liking. The chicken didn’t taste like it was pre-seasoned and the only flavor on the entire dish was that red oily sauce. My bf ordered the mixed vegetables dish with chicken. It has veggies such as bell peppers, mushrooms, cabbage, bean sprouts in a brown garlic sauce. They also provide a heaping portion of rice on the side. Everything was cooked well, but a little too salty for me. The white rice didn’t tame the salt as much as I would have hoped. Good news: Even though this location has high turnover and has changed businesses every couple of years, the private lot and the dining room is roomy. The décor is very simple inside and the bar reminds me a bit of a tiki bar with the sunset right next to it. I surprisingly enjoyed their papaya salad. The salad is limey, slightly sweet and more spicy than I was expecting. We chose medium spicy which had more kick. As we got towards the bottom of the pile, my eyes were watery and I was sniffling, but I couldn’t stop. Also, the finely crushed peanuts adds an illusion of thickness to sauce. I really enjoyed it. Furthermore, the service was fantastic. He was friendly and attentive. He offered us coconut ice cream as dessert and baited me when he said it was homemade so of course I had to try it. It was so good! It tasted like coconut ice cream mixed with small bits of chocolate chips and roasted coconut flakes. Simply and bursting with flavors.

Found this place last night after learning our goto Thai place has closed, first walked in and got a smell of the place I knew it wasn’t going to be good. I ordered Pad Thai, and my Fiancé the yellow curry. Her yellow curry looked good and tasted as it should. My Pad Thai was anything but Pad Thai, it was more like rice noodles with ketchup. The worst Pad Thai I have ever had that tasted like nothing I have ever had before. And to top it all off both of us are sick this morning with multiple trips to the bathroom which has never happened before after eating Thai food. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

After an appropriate amount of chagrin at discovering there’s a Thai restaurant in Rochester I haven’t tried, I made a date with a friend to meet up there. The restaurant was easy to find(I do think you have to turn down Whipple Rd to access their spacious parking lot). The interior was simply decorated and clean. We were attended to immediately. We ordered the egg rolls, coconut soup and pad kee mao. The egg rolls were filled with vegetables(bean sprouts) and glass noodles. They were fried well and served with a sweet chili sauce. I think the sweet chili sauce might be homemade as it was thinner and more savory than most I have tried. The coconut soup had lots of delicious lemongrass in it but was also very sweet. Unfortunately, the pad kee mao was also sweet. However, the noodles were perfectly cooked. Everything had that homemade quality which I appreciated. The server(chef’s son) was so incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. He tried to see if the chef could put together some chilli peppers in fish sauce(nam pla prik) for me but they were unable to do so. The service here deserves 5 solid stars. Sadly, I was not a fan of their sweeter approach to Thai food. However, if you prefer your Asian food with a sweet and slightly spicy finish, you will appreciate Churi’s.
