Captain Tony’s Pizza

My parents just moved into the area, and we often get pizza when they have the whole family over. So far we have been very happy with their food and service. Their five cheese pizza is very good, and quite unique. I personally love ricotta, so it’s a bonus whenever it’s used. Their boneless wings are good as well.
We’ve also tried the stuffed shells. The shells were very good and the portion was large, but it was drowning in sauce. They seem to do pizza and wings better than the ‘food-​food’.
Each time we’ve ordered from them, they are polite, friendly, and they get our order right. We haven’t had a single problem with the food or the service.

Captain Tony’s surprised me. Not the greatest pizza, but nowhere near the worst. Their pan pizza had a good thickness crust, and a great crunch — not doughy and chewy. It kinda has more of a pre-​made flavor and texture — but it’s good nonetheless. The sauce had great flavor and they didn’t leave any bare spots. They put a ton of cheese on. They always have a lot of coupon deals you can use. The «large» pizza I got was more like a medium. I thought it was kinda pricey for the size, so look to use the coupons.
Did not try anything else. Would definitely go back.

Great service, cook, and sauce on the pie. Boneless wings were top notch with bbq and hot mix. I’ll definitely be back for football season treats.

reminds me of a less greasy pizza hut. good amount of sauce, and it’s a bit sweeter than most. the crust stayed crispy, it was lightly crisp on the bottom and more so on the edge. most pizza in rochester is extremely doughy, the ratio of crust to sauce to cheese seemed pretty appropriate. definitely not ny style, and not rochester style — somewhere between chicago and buffalo style.

A horrible experience. Admittedly, the weather was bad but then be in better communication with your drivers or do a better job of estimating. They told me 45 minutes to an hour wait and it was an hour and 45 minutes. Then after I sign off the tip I realize that the dessert is missing. The delivery guy said «I didn’t take the order. What do you want me to do about it?» Unbelievable rude and quite frankly not very bright (I assumed he had a cell phone and could have called the store). When I called to complain they offered me a gift certificate for a free pizza or a credit but interestingly, they didn’t offer to come back out with the dessert– unlike other pizza places that have forgotten something. Nor did he offer to refund my money on the current order. On top of that the crust tasted like it had been frozen and was wooden, sauce was too sweet, the cheese and pepperoni were stingy at best and the pasta over cooked. I don’t even want credit there the food was so awful.

This place actually qualifies as the worst regional food I’ve tasted to date. As for their spaghetti, meatballs, and «garlic bread».pasta tasted like it was boiled in foul tasting water, sauce was unidentifiable as sauce, and the meatballs are the densest solid chunk of congealed meat i thought possible. If you enjoy the flavor and sensation of soggy, non-​toasted hoagie slathered in raw garlic sauce meant for pizzas before they are baked, then you will enjoy it greatly – wrapping it in aluminum foil prior to delivery fully realizes the soggy factor. avoid.

I have to be honest — lots of hit or miss comments here… but I had an awesome pizza last night from Captain Tony’s. We had a bunch of people coming over to get ready for a Halloween Party, and wanted to get a few pies to fill everyone’s belly before we went out. We had a coupon we had received in the mail, and none were really ideal for the amount of people we had… the gentleman who answered the phone was super helpful in trying to find a suitable package for us and gave us a little deal too!
The pizza was delish — it was coming fresh out of the oven. We all thought it was delicious. Nice thin crust that reminded us of a well-​known Italian pizzeria up north… the sauce had some nice flavor to it. It was well covered with our favorite toppings — pepperoni and banana peppers.
It was so good, I had some more when I got home. Cold. And it was just as delish. This place is around the corner from our house — we will certainly be paying them a visit again!

Pizza is hit or miss. Sometimes its amazing and delish, sometimes its not so good, a lil greasy! Wings are a real let down. All wet and grubby. Slimy, with no flavor. I was not pleased. But ive gotten real crispy, meaty wings here b4. Like I said. Hit or miss!
The toppings are light and the sauce is a bit too sweet for my liking. Sometimes the pizza is incredible! I suggest pick up! Always will get a pipin hot pizza pie!

I prefer a more flavorful sauce but the toppings were adequate, it was well cooked, the crust was a bit cardboardesque. The price on Wednesdays $ 4.99 for a large cheese is a good deal although their not terribly large. Wouldn’t be my go to spot but I wouldn’t complain if someone ordered it.

Captain Tonys gotta be one of the last of the old greats left around.
Deep dish pizza… Very yummy.
I prefer the medium deep dish seems to cook and serve better for later.
For me wings and pizza I always order well done… Like a steak personal preference… Their Buf chicken salad is pretty good as well.
I go for the deals so its a lunch special or Wednesday or Friday deals.

Based on take-​out/​delivery experience. Overall, everything was OK, but SUPER greasy. Go somewhere else.

Worst wings I have ever had, wings were not cooked all the way and were soggy. Litterally the bigger wings still had pink in the middle, sauce was watery and had no flavor, tasted like grease not hot wing sauce. Pizza was one step below frozen pizza. Will NEVER order from again.
If I have to say something good the blue cheese was normal.
